SANFORD - Funeral for Drusilla Byrd Howard, 92, of 272 Big Springs Road, who died Saturday (6/7/03), was held Tuesday at Grace Chapel by the Rev. Rudy Holland and the Rev. Bob Yandle. Burial followed at the church cemetery.
Pianist was Joan Luellen. Soloist was Ronnie Byrd.
Pallbearers were Charles Howard, Mark Howard, Jerry McNeill, David Pleasants, Shane Pleasants and Spencer Smith.
Arrangements were by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

SANFORD - Ruth Mae Griffin, 71, of 374 Hunters Ridge Road, died Monday (6/9/03) at her residence.

PHYLLIS DUNLAP
CARTHAGE - Phyllis Inman Dunlap, 74, of 4617 N.C. 22, died Saturday (6/14/03) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
A native of Moore County, she was a daughter of the late William Lester and Alice Lee Tillman Inman. She was the third of seven children and was preceded in death by sisters, Anne and Sara Inman, and a brother, Worth Inman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Glendon Independent Christian Church by the Rev. Robert Yandle. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel C. Dunlap; daughters, Sara Dunlap Dull and Iris Dunlap Davis, both of Whispering Pines; sons, William Inman Dunlap of Robbins, Rex Eric Dunlap and Timothy Norris Dunlap, both of Carthage; a sister, Mary Louise Shields of Robbins; brothers, Mark Inman of Robbins and Don Inman of Swansboro; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at other times at the residence.

ESTELLA PETTY
SANFORD - Estella M. Petty, 93, of 823 Boykin Ave., died Saturday (6/14/03) at home.
She was the oldest member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and a mother of the church.
Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at her church by the Rev. George Dark. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Jane Battle of Sanford; sons, Fred F. Petty, at home, and Charles J. Murchison and wife Millie of Brooklyn, N.Y.; sisters, Selma Moten of Carthage, and Katherine Minter and Ida Spruell, both of Sanford; 15 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 32 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

MARY HEARP
DANVILLE, Va. - Mary Elizabeth Holt Hearp, 77, of 239 Fagan St., formerly of Sanford, died Saturday (6/14/03) at Roman Eagle Memorial Home.
She was a native of Harnett County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Holt Sr. and Mary Alice Monroe Holt; a sister, Jean Holt Paul; brothers, E.C. Holt Jr., Boyd Holt and Herman Monroe Holt; and her husband, William Hearp. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was the bookkeeper, a member of the missions board, the Women's Auxiliary and secretary-treasurer. She worked for Danville Regional Medical Center and was retired from Dan River, Inc.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Pentecostal Holiness Church by the Rev. James Ward Jr. and the Rev. Kenneth Terry. Burial will be in Highland Burial Park.
She is survived by her stepmother, Christian Holt; sisters, Joyce Patterson of Sanford and Doris Holt of Charlotte; brothers, Otis Holt of Statesville, Billy Holt, Jerry Holt, Johnny Holt and Jimmy Holt, all of Sanford.

NANCY WOMACK
OLIVIA - Nancy Sharpe Womack, 99, of 4504 N.C. 87 North, died Saturday (6/14/03) at home.
A native of Rockingham County, she was a daughter of the late Hugh Ezekial Sharpe and Mary Elizabeth Brame Sharpe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Clifford Womack; sons, Franklin E. Womack and Darius B. Womack, and a daughter, Wynona Womack Langley. She was a member of Swann Station Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday at Swann Station Baptist Church by the Rev. Russell Blackmon. Burial was in the Cameron Grove Cemetery.
She is survived by sons, C. Graham Womack of Gibsonville, John M. Womack of Georgetown, Texas, and Jerry G. Womack of Olivia; daughters, Polly W. Barnett of Burlington and Shirley W. Homes of Olivia; a brother, Albert Sharpe of Sanford; a sister, Dorothy Sharpe Stewart of Robbins; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family received friends Sunday at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

MONCURE - Jean Carol Bennett Bass, 62, of 145 Cotten Acres, died Sunday (6/15/03), at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
She was born in Lee County, a daughter of the late Carl Edward Bennett and Hilda Goodwin Bennett Womble. She was a member of the Haywood Independent Bible Church.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Haywood Independent Bible Church by the Rev. Lloyd Black.
She is survived by daughters, Kathy Rattz Mashburn of Sanford and Belinda Rattz Palladino of Moncure; sons, Clayborn Michael Rattz of Ohio and Timothy Edward Rattz of Sanford; brothers, Carl M. Bennett of Moncure and Walter Edward Bennett of Pittsboro; sisters, Hilda Gray Coggins of Deep River; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

SANFORD - Constance C. Warren, 88, of Sanford, died Sunday (6/15/03) at Convalescent Center of Lee County.
A native of Jiles County, Va., she was a daughter of the late James Cuddy and Claudia Cuddy Stump. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy G. Warren; sons, Roy G. Warren Jr. and George E. Warren; and a daughter, Mary Katherine W. Hardy.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Chapel Church by the Rev. Rudy Holland, the Rev. Jack Phillips and the Rev. Robert Yandle. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is survived by a son, Curtis Eugene Warren of Cleveland, Ohio; daughters, Velma Beal and Sue Whitaker, both of Sanford; a sister, Elizabeth Carlton of Richmond, Va.; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the home of Jeffrey Reid, 1846 Henley Road, Sanford, and the family will receive friends at the Grace Chapel Church Fellowship Hall following the service.

SANFORD - Dovie White Moore, 90, of 2317 Rockwood Road, died Saturday (6/14/03) at home.
A native of Stokes County, she was a daughter of the late Newton William White and Frances Freeman White. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Sanford Moore and a son, Roger Moore. She was a member of Grassy Knob Baptist Church in Union Grove.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grassy Knob Baptist Church cemetery in Union Grove.
She is survived by sons, Sam Moore of Sanford and David Moore of Thomasville; daughters, Linda Moore of Sanford and Judy Simpson of Yadkinville; sisters, Christine Bowers of Randleman and Belvie Ward of Roanoke, Va.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
