LILLINGTON - Carolyn Drake Smith, 57, of Lillington died Saturday (10/16/04) at Life Care of N.C. Hospital in Rocky Mount.
Funeral will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home by the Rev. Roy McLamb.
Surviving are her husband, Mike Smith; a daughter, Ginna Grace of Lillington; and a stepbrother, Nelson Bennett of Fuquay-Varina.
The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home.
CLARA BERRY
SANFORD - Funeral for Clara Ruth Thomas Berry, 92, of 1596 Dixie Farm Road, who died Wednesday (10/13/04), was held Friday at the Broadway Baptist Church by the Rev. Ken Dowdy and the Rev. Joe Watterson. Burial followed at the Broadway Town Cemetery.
Cindy Buchanan, Ed Peace, Marianna Shaw and Tommy Shaw sang. Peace was soloist. Pianists were Tommy Shaw and Ruth Sutherland.
Pallbearers were Craig Buchanan, Brooks Kelly, Ronald Kelly, Chuck Sikes, James Taylor and Fred Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the adult women's Sunday school class at Broadway Baptist Church.
Arrangements were by Smith Funeral Home of Broadway.
ARMIJANE HAIGLER
SANFORD - Funeral for Armijane Dawkins Haigler, 80, of 2200 Lee Ave., who died Friday (10/15/04), was held Sunday at Jonesboro Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Keith Miller. Burial followed in Lee Memory Gardens.
Pianist was Sandra McNeill. Soloist was Jimmy Banks. The Jonesboro Presbyterian Church choir and the congregation sang.
Pallbearers were Glenn York, Bob Burkey, Larry Stone, Lawrence Poindexter, Bill Jones and Don Buie.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack Harper and P.W. West.
Arrangements were by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
ELIZABETH McWATERS
SANFORD - Funeral for Elizabeth Maddox McWaters, 68, of 931 Shue Road, who died Thursday (10/14/04), was held Sunday at Juniper Springs Baptist Church by the Rev. Michael Hall. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Cindy Buchanan was pianist. The church choir and the congregation sang.
Pallbearers were William Boyce Jr., Mark Castonguay, Brian Castonguay, Robert Jamerson, David Johnson and Jeff Williams.

LILLINGTON - Graveside service for Donna Lynn McMillan, 37, of Lillington, who died Thursday (10/14/04), was held Saturday at Pleasant Grove Freewill Baptist Church by Ronald Tutor.
Special music was provided by Linda Tutor.

PITTSBORO - Funeral for Robert Earl Brewer Sr., 65, of 173 Roscoe Lee Drive, who died Thursday (10/14/04), was held Saturday at Knotts Funeral Home of Pittsboro by the Rev. Kenneth Brooks. The Rev. Ridie Headen gave the eulogy. Prayer of comfort was by Brooks. Burial followed in Mitchell Chapel Church cemetery.
Mae Austin and the Rev. Kay Cross sang a duet. Soloist was Archie McCrimmon. Acknowledgments were by Judy Pugh.
Arrangements were by Knotts Funeral Home of Pittsboro.
NATHANIEL GOLDSTON
PITTSBORO - Funeral for Nathaniel Lee Goldston, of Pittsboro, was held Saturday at Taylors Chapel Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Donald Jones Sr., who gave the eulogy, and the Rev. Eugene Staton. Scripture readings were by the Rev. Mabel McLeod and the Rev. Theodore Tyson. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Soloists were Richard Goldston and Carolyn Worley. Acknowledgments were by Annie McCrimmon.
Arrangements were by Knotts Funeral Home of Pittsboro.
MARY WILLIAMS
SILER CITY - Mary Williams, 93, of 1312 Hodge St. died Sunday (10/17/04) at Durham Regional Hospital, Durham.
Arrangements are pending at Knotts and Son Funeral Home of Siler City.
Helen Seymour
Sanford - Helen Floyd Seymour, 87, died Saturday (4/5/03) at home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church by Dr. Carl Rush and the Rev. Rick Martindale. Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery.
Mrs. Seymour was a graduate of Lumberton High School and Women's College in Greensboro. She moved to Sanford in 1936 and taught at McIver School until her marriage. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she received an honorary life membership in 1975.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow W. Seymour Jr. of Sanford; daughters Helen S. Burns of Charlotte, Jane S. LaRue of Sanford, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, five nephews and a niece.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Miller-Boles Funeral Home.

LILLINGTON - Funeral service for Bridget A. Weaver, 18, who died Wednesday (4/2/03) was held 11 a.m. Saturday at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel by the Rev. Ken Dalton.
Burial followed in Harnett Memorial Park.
Pianist was Bill Yocum.
Pallbearers were Donnie Weaver, Mike Weaver, Lance Wagoner, Alphus Lee Fann Sr., Jerry Draughon, Anthony Scott Buchannon, Lee Fann, and Daniel Weaver.

FRANCES WILLIAMS
SANFORD - Frances Gross Williams, 59, of Sanford, died Monday (3/31/03) after a 22-year battle with multiple sclerosis at Convalescent Care of Sanford.
Born in Englishtown, N.J., she was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav Gross Moore and Mossie Johnson Gross. She was a graduate of Deep River High School.
She is survived by her son, Robert Alton Williams, and daughter-in-law Jennifer L. Williams, both of Spring Lake. Her son is currently deployed in Iraq with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jack Hunter. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 3101 Industrial Drive, Suite 210, Raleigh N.C., 27609. Donations should be in honor of Frances Williams, with Robert A. Williams the reference name.

GERALD QUICK
RALEIGH - Gerald T. Quick, 62, of Raleigh, died Friday (4/4/03) at Rex Hospital.
He grew up in Sanford and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was the architect for the church's recent addition.
Quick was a graduate of North Carolina State University and loved to boat, fish, hunt, snow ski and golf.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra, of Raleigh; his mother, Ruth, of Sanford; his brother Tony, of Sanford; sister-in-law Vicki, of Sanford; mother-in-law Cassie Zawalich, of Sanford and nephews Marshall and Carson Quick, both of Sanford.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the church's fellowship hall, and at other times at the Quick home in Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 203 Hawkins Ave., Sanford, N.C., 27330 or to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary's St., Raleigh, N.C. 27605.
Arrangements are by the Cremation Society of the Carolinas in Raleigh.

GREENVILLE - Pamela K. Watson Mayo, 47, of Greenville, formerly of Sanford, died Friday (4/4/03) at Pitt County Hospital.
She is survived by her husband Dallas, of Greenville; mother, Queen E. Lindsey, of Sanford; sisters Betty W. Bagley and Mollie B. Duncan, both of Sanford; brother, James M. Blue, of California; and daughters Ericka and Melissa, both of Greenville.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Well Chapel Church of God in Greenville.
