BENNETT - Alberta Brewer Brady, 75, of 248 Lee St., died Saturday (8/30/03) at Chatham Hospital.
A native of Chatham County, she was retired from Collins & Aikmen after 41 years of service.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Bennett Baptist Church by the Rev. Tim Strider and the Rev. James Brewer. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is survived by a son, Rufus Allen Brady of Siler City; sisters, Ruby Brady of Bennett and Geneva Williams of Siler City; two grandchildren and a great-grandson.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Joan P. Buie, 64, of 601 L St. #236, died Saturday (8/30/03) in Washington.

BENNETT - Funeral service for William Alfred Pate Jr., of 416 Will Shields Road, who died Friday (8/29/03), was held Sunday at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home by the Rev. Bruce MacInnes. Graveside services were held at Cape Fear Baptist Church Cemetery in Fayetteville.
Organist was Pam Riddle. The congregation sang.
Pallbearers were Bo Brown, Robert Ellis, Will Lee, Chris Sanchez, James Burnsfield, and Rusty Bishop.

PEARLIE ALSTON
PITTSBORO - Pearlie Alston, 89, of Pittsboro died Saturday (2/7/04) at Laurels of Chatham.
Funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Mitchells Chapel AME Zion Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Chatham County, he was a retired carpenter and farmer, and was a member of Mitchell Chapel AME Zion Church.
Surviving are daughters, Ella Allen and Clara Alston, both of Pittsboro; sons, Pearlie Alston Jr. and wife Susie, and Ernest Alston and wife Clementine, all of Fayetteville, and Gene Alston and wife Annie of Pittsboro; sister, Elizabeth A. Patterson and husband Dassie of Snow Camp; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Griffin Funeral Service and Cremation.

CARTHAGE - Louise Frye Carter, 91, of Carthage died Friday (2/6/04) at Pinelake Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Garden Mausoleum in Cross Hill Cemetery, by the Rev. Terry Huffines.
Surviving are daughters, Jane C. Hodge and husband Mills of Seven Lakes, and Martha C. Johnson and husband Prentice of Shelby; son, W.M. Carter Jr. and wife Carol of Carthage; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

SANFORD - Parker Lee Doss, infant, died Friday at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Pocket Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Jerry Vuncannon.
Surviving are parents, Erika Alston and Mitchell Doss; maternal grandparents, Tina and Stacy Carter; paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Jayne Doss; maternal great-grandmother, Betty Alston of Mamers; paternal great-grandparents Jean Gunter of Sanford and Selvia Doss of Sanford.

DELBERT FRYE
CARTHAGE - Delbert W. Frye, 74, of HCR Manor Care of Pinehurst died Saturday (2/7/04) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Gravesdie service will be held at 4:30 p.m. today at Fairview Baptist Church by the Rev. Don Gillis.
A native of Moore County, he was a son of the late Epps Walter and Essie Leona Frye.
He is survived by three nephews. The family will receive friends at the cemetery after the service.

ABERDEEN - Funeral for Lacy Hill of Aberdeen, who died Tuesday (2/3/04) in Southern Pines was conducted Saturday at the Pentecostal Assembly of Jesus Christ by Bishop Roy A. McKoy. Burial was at Berkley Cemetery, Aberdeen.
Surviving are sons, Ronnie L. and wife, Marie, and Michael, and wife, Ann, both of Southern Pines; daughters Vickie Hill of Pinebluff, and Betty E. Hill of Pinehurst; sisters, Margie Jones and Velma Knight, both of Pittsburgh, Mary Utley of Washington D.C., Cleo Thomas of Aberdeen, and Georgia McDougald of Southern Pines; brother, Curtis Hill of Pittsburgh; 13 grandchildren; and 25 grandchildren.

CARTHAGE - Don Edward Thomas, 61, of Carthage died Friday (2/6/04) at his residence.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Red Branch Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Robert Morrison.
A native of Moore County, he was the son of the late James P. and Mary Nell Deese Thomas. He was employed for many years as a tool-and-die maker with Saco-Lowell and Siemens in Sanford.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Davis Thomas; daughter, Pam T. Gregson and husband Ricky of Carthage; son, Curtis E. Thomas of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; brother, James L. Thomas and wife Elizabeth of Carthage; and one grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the home of Pam and Ricky Gregson, 275 Bryant Road, Carthage.

BUNNLEVEL - Agnes Lee Colville McDonald, 68, of Bunnlevel died Saturday (2/7/04) at Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Nancy Colville; husband, Wyatt McDonald; sister, Vera Arnold; brothers, Floyd, Thomas, Earl, and Fred Colville; a grandson, and a great-grandson.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday (2/10/04) at O'Quinn-Peebles chapel, Lillington by the Rev. Burt Pitchford and the Rev. Roy McLamb. Burial will be at Flat Branch Presbyterian Church cemetery.
Surviving are daughters, Joyce Annis of Evansville, Ind., Martha Coleman of Coats, and Teresa Smith and husband Steve of Lillington; son, Donnie McDonald; brothers, Erwin Colville of Lillington, Robert Colville of Dunn, and J.D. Colville and wife Connie of Linden; sister, Nancy "Jerry" Faulkner of Independence, Ky.; 11 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

SANFORD - Funeral service for Debra Cox Crane, who died Tuesday (2/3/04) was conducted Saturday at St. Luke United Methodist Church by Father John Forbes. Burial was in Buffalo Cemetery.
Readers were John Carr, Evelyn Crane Boyer, and Dr. Carl Frazier.
Pallbearers were Doug Shepherd, Corey Bachus, Jim Shepherd, Ray Crane, Robert Crane, and Jerry Crane. Honorary pallbearer was Hank Shepherd.
Cantor was Jessica Traversino and organist was Evelyn Dooley.
