LILLINGTON - Funeral for Ezra Darroch, 82, who died Thursday (2/5/04) was conducted Saturday at Harnett Memorial Park by the Rev. Roy McLamb.
Vocalist was Dorothy McLamb.
Pallbearers were Scott Turlington, Paul Turlington, Ken Mashburn, Randy Sturgill, Donnie Bass, Kenny Todd, and Frank Powers.
JULIUS MARTIN
SANFORD - Funeral service for Julius Caeser "Cecil" Martin, who died Sunday (2/1/04) at Central Carolina Hospital was conducted Friday at Watson Mortuary. Burial followed at New Zion Church cemetery.
Scripture reading, prayer, and eulogy was read by Marilyn Cross. Remarks were given by family members. Justine Griffin was organist and soloist.
Pallbearers were Stanley McLaughlin, Donald McLaughlin, Ronald McLaughlin, Allen Downey, Marshall McLean, and Derek McLaughlin. Floral bearers were friends of the family.
GEORGE BLUE
VASS - George Rosser Blue, 69, died Friday (4/9/04) at home.
Born in Moore County to the late George Mack and Delia Jessup Blue, he was well known in the Vass community. A retired barber, he enjoyed cooking and flowers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Blue, and a brother, Arch L. Blue.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Grove Cemetery.
He is survived by sons, Lewin Blue and wife Tonya, Felton Blue and Rosser Blue Jr., all of Vass; a daughter, Karen McNeill and her husband Tony of Rockingham; a brother, Mack Blue of Vass; sisters, Ella Mae Marion of Vass and Mary Catherine Edwards of Titusville, Fla.; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Boles Funeral Home in Pinehurst.

SANFORD - Funeral for Vesper Cox, 79, of 2104 Lord Ashley Drive, who died Wednesday (4/7/04), was conducted Friday at Emmanuel Congregational Christian Church U.C.C. by Dr. Richard Leaptrott and the Rev. Ronald M. Cox. Burial followed in Lee Memory Gardens.
Organist was Rosemary Parten. Soloist was Marilyn Turner.
Active pallbearers were Harold Harrington, Mackey McCracken, Donnell Lee, Paul Wicker, Terry Nixon and Wilbur Godwin.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Sanford Exchange Club.

SANFORD - Funeral services for William Henry Hall, who died Monday (4/5/04), were held Friday at Rogers Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Gail Dickens. Burial followed in St. Andrews Presbyterian Church cemetery.
John Filyo sang.
Pallbearers were Terry Ray Maples, Mike Whitaker, Ronnie Thompson, Lee Roy Thompson, Robert Baker and Tony McGehee.

SANFORD - Funeral services for Pearl Juanita McKeithen, 58, who died Sunday (4/4/04), were held Thursday at Mt. Nebo Freewill Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Elder J.H. Fairley gave the eulogy and read from the Old Testament. The Rev. James Bandy gave the prayer and read from the New Testament.
Soloist was Josephine White. Musician was Jessie White.
Floralbearers were Alice Wilkins, Patricia McKeithen, Edna Battle and Annie McGilvery.
Pallbearers were Ben Edwards, Clifton Watson Jr., Coley Caldwell, Thomas Battle, David Lyles and Robert Cameron.

SANFORD - Funeral for Clyde Hampton McLeod, 52, of 1019 Clark Circle, died who Sunday (4/4/04), was held Friday at New Generation Church.
Pastor Clyde Watson read the Old Testament. Elder Anthony Turner read the New Testament. Prayer of comfort was by Elder Lester McKoy. Soloists were Vera Nickers, Yachelle Smith and Justice Griffin. The Rev. Phillip Watson gave the eulogy. Acknowledgements were by Dewey McLeod.

SANFORD - Robert Lee Yow, 48, of Sanford, died Tuesday (6/1/04).
He was born in Lee County, a son of the late Harold and Ernestine Baldwin Yow. He was a machinist at Car Quest, formerly City Auto Parts, for more than 20 years.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Rogers Memorial Chapel. The family will greet friends after the service.
Survivors include daughters, Wendy Yow Stone and husband Tony of Sanford and Robyn Yow Ross and husband James Marshall II of Clayton; a son, Vernon Lewis Yow and wife Selina of Cameron; sisters, Sharon Y. Thomas and husband Mark of Broadway and Karen Y. Carter and husband Dave of Sanford; and seven grandchildren.

OLA CHEEK
SILER CITY - Ola Lynn Cheek, 80, of 527 E. Fifth St., died Tuesday (6/1/04) at Sun Bridge Care Facilities.
A native of Rockingham County, she was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Lynn and Beulah Robertson Lynn.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Piney Grove United Methodist Cemetery, Piney Grove Church Road, by the Rev. Herbert Lowry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are husband, William Gorris Cheek of Siler City; daughters, Nancy C. Wilson and husband Phillip and Kathy C. Chappell, all of Siler City, and Kim Cheek and husband Darien Holt of Bonlee; sons, Chester C. Craven of Georgia and Billy Cheek of Bear Creek; a sister, Sue Perdue of Reidsville; a brother, Reid Lynn of Reidsville; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Smith and Buckner Funeral Home, 230 N. Second Ave.
