MARGARET WILLIAMSON
SANFORD - Margaret Covert Williamson, 82, of Walnut Drive, died Thursday (4/3/03) at Convalescent Center of Sanford.
Mrs. Williamson was the daughter of the late William N. and Kate Dowdy Covert. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde P. Williamson, and a daughter, Judy Williamson. She was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, the Lucille Hunter class and Keenagers.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Casey Chapel at St. Luke United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Tom Loftis and the Rev. Michael Coppock. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
Surviving are a daughter, Faye Wicker of Sanford; a sister, Ruth Thomas of Sanford; and a grandson, Jade Wicker Jr. of Sanford.
Donations may be made to the St. Luke building fund, 2916 Wicker St., Sanford, N.C. 27330.
The family will receive friends at Miller-Boles Funeral Home today from 6:30 until 8 p.m. and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Thomas, 533 Walnut Drive.
Arrangements are by Miller-Boles Funeral Home.

JANICE LEWIS
SANFORD - Funeral for Janice McCormick Lewis, 35, of 14191 McDougald Road, who died Sunday (7/20/03) was held Thursday at Works For Christ Christian Center.
Scripture reading was given by Pastor Alice Hooker. Prayer of comfort was given by Dr. Lewis Hooker. Acknowledgment and obituary was read by Minister Cathy Ray. Remarks were given by Barbara Swann and the High Dimension Works for Christ Christian Center Choir sang. Eulogy was given by the Rev. Harrison Ray. Sherman Swann was soloist, organist was Minister Cory McCrimmon and drums were by Doiretla Hooker. Pastor Alice Hooker officiated.
Floral bearers were friends and relatives. Pallbearers were Darnell McCormick, Terry Fox, Robert Richmond, Terry Dorsett, Joseph McIver and Roger McLean.

CHARLES McLEAN
SANFORD - Charles McLean, of 5104 Briarwood Drive, died in South Carolina.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Knotts Funeral Home, Sanford.

BEULAH ANGELL
SANFORD - Beulah Thomas Angell, 82, of 420 Salem Church Road, died Friday (10/10/03) at her residence.
Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Levy Thomas and Edna Campbell Thomas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude E. Angell.
Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Broadway United Methodist Church by the Rev. Douglas Currin and the Rev. Ray Brooks. Burial will follow in the Broadway Town Cemetery.
Surviving are sons, Donny E. Angell and wife Lynn of Sanford, Bobby T. Angell and wife Judy of Broadway and Kenneth D. Angell and wife Brenda of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

DAVID LOVE
SANFORD - David Michael Love, 29, of 1132 Peppermill Road, died Friday (10/10/03) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Born in Lee County, he was a graduate of Lee County Senior High School and Central Carolina Community College. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Eugene Love.
Funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Crossroads Ministry, Broadway, by the Rev. Ray Brooks and the Rev. Paul Backlund. Burial will follow in the Broadway Town Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Karla Thomas Love; a son, Kolby Love, at home; a daughter, Whitney Love, at home; his mother, Juana Hedrera Love of Sanford; a brother, Paul Love and wife Magan of Sanford; and a sister, Carmen Love of Sanford.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

ROSA STEDMAN
SANFORD - Rosa Stedman, 67, of 102 13th St., died Wednesday (10/8/03) at Central Carolina Hospital.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Emmanuel Church of God, Sanford. Burial will follow in Lee Memory Gardens.
Surviving are children, JoAnn Jackson and husband Billy, Otis Steadman and wife Rosizetta and Sandra Steadman, all of Sanford, Michelle Burch of Lillington and Wildred Steadman and wife Keisha of Cameron; sisters, Rebecca Winston and husband James of Fayetteville, Laura Buie and Rosa M. Thompson and husband James all of Sanford; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Celebration will be held beginning at 7 p.m. today at Mt. Carmel PHA, Sanford.
Arrangements are by Knotts Funeral Home of Sanford.

WALTER LATHEN
CAMERON - Walter Lathen, 98, of 79 Mye Lane, died Thursday (10/9/03) at his residence.
Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Johnsonville AME Zion Church by the Rev. Mattie Walden. Burial will follow in the Johnsonville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Thelma Lathen.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
Arrangements are by Horton Funeral Home.

CLAY JOHNSON
FRANKLINVILLE - Clay Van Johnson, 72, of 4444 Old Liberty Road, died Thursday (10/9/03) at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
A native of Chatham County, he was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Gregson Furniture Co., Liberty.
Funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at White Memorial Baptist Church, Franklinville, by the Rev. Jeff Joyce and the Rev. Arlen Johnson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his wife Dessie Johnson Johnson, a son, a daughter, a brother, two sisters, four grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, and at other times at the family residence.

EDDIE TYSON
WAKE FOREST - Funeral for Eddie James Tyson, 47, of 608 Fawn Court, who died Tuesday (10/7/03), was held Friday at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jack Hunter, the Rev. Ronnie Boss and the Rev. Ed Heffington. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Pianist was Alice Clayton. The Cornerstone Quartet, with Bill Stanley, Herbert Gunter, May Kerr and Janet Smith, sang.
Pallbearers were Chris Tyson, Matt Tyson, Tim Sellars, Russell Underwood, Frank Adams and Lynn Blackwelder.
Arrangements were by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

DANIEL BLACK
PINEHURST - Daniel C. Black, 42, of Pinehurst, died Wednesday (10/8/03) at Wake Forest University Medical Center, Winston-Salem.
Born March 3, 1961, in Moore County, he and his father owned Black's Construction and Paving Co. of Southern Pines.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethesda Presbyterian Church by the Rev. David Hudson. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Surviving are his wife Patti Krombos Black; a son, a daughter, his parents and his aunt.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Boles Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.

CHARLES PETTIT
LANCASTER, OHIO - Charles R. "Charlie" Pettit, 82, of Lancaster, father of Michael William Pettit and wife Vicki of Sanford, died Thursday (10/9/03) at his residence.
He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 23 years and was a member of the National Letter Carriers Association. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
Funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Also surviving are his wife, Dorothy L. Pettit, three daughters, a sister, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today and 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association.

MABLE BUMBRAY
SANFORD - Mable Bumbray, 81, of Sanford, died Friday (10/10/03) at Central Carolina Hospital.
Arrangements are pending at Knotts Funeral Home.
