SANFORD - Funeral for Dela Fletcher Harris III, 77, who died Saturday (7/31/04), was held Tuesday by Dr. R. Carl Frazier, Dr. J. Walter Mann Jr. and the Rev. Al Hocutt. Burial follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
Soloist was Robert Cox. Organist was James D. Kimball. Eulogy was spoken by Bonny Harris Herrington.
Active pallbearers were Dr. William Miller Johnstone Jr., William Ball Joyce Jr., William McPhail Holt III, Richard Heins Lawrence, Peter Claude Mace and Don William Perry. PITTSBORO - Darrell R. Cotton, 46, died Sunday (8/2/04).

BROADWAY - Sarah Elizabeth Copeland Mansfield, 86, of 200 Mansfield Drive, died Monday (8/2/04) at Moore Regional Hospital.
She was born Dec. 17, 1917, in Harnett County, the daughter of the late Oscar and Mattie Lee Copeland. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas Wava Mansfield, and son Jim Mansfield.
Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Broadway Presbyterian Church by Dr. Harold Stone. Burial will follow in the Broadway Town Cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Thomas Wava Mansfield Jr. and wife Elva Jane of Sanford; daughters, Janet M. Dalrymple and husband Richard of Broadway and Cathy M. Thomas and husband Barry of Broadway; daughter-in-law, Rose Marie Mansfield of Charlotte; sisters, Jessie C. Hunter of Sanford and Ruth C. Williams of Blowing Rock; 10 grandchildren, Mark Mansfield and wife Joni, Ashley Mansfield Edwards and husband Eric, Scott Mansfield and wife Natalie, Angela Mansfield, Shannon Thomas, Brian Thomas, Mike Harrington and wife Keshia, Jeff Harrington and wife Tammy, Roy Harrington and wife Rhonda and Amy Capps and husband Alan; and 13 great-grandchildren, Megan Mansfield, Michael Mansfield, Meredith Mansfield, Nicholas Mansfield, John Ross Edwards, Grayson Edwards, Cole Harrington, Carlee Harrington, Cody Harrington, Dylan Harrington, Roy Cameron Harrington, Matt Capps and Katie Capps.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Smith Funeral Home in Broadway and at other times at the home.

SANFORD - P.B. Smith Jr., 59, of 2525 Buffalo Church Road, Apt. 4, died Wednesday (8/11/04) at home.
He was a native of Montgomery County. He was a retired electrical engineer with CP&L.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, Star, by the Rev. Martin E. Davis and the Rev. D.C. Sullivan. Burial will follow in Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist cemetery on Ether Road, Star.
Surviving are his wife, Karen F. Travis-Smith; a son, Brian Smith of Raleigh; a daughter, Donna Tedder of Raleigh; stepdaughter, Courtney Travis of Sanford; sisters, Alice Davis of Seagrove, Clara Garner, Mamie Maness and Peggy Cox, all of Asheboro, and Susie Seamans of Skipwith, Va.; brothers, Arnold Smith of Asheboro and Archie Smith of Star; and two grandchildren.

LYNN MANN
LILLINGTON - Funeral for Lynn Senter Mann, 71, who died Tuesday (8/10/04), was held Thursday at Lillington Presbyterian Church by Dr. William Goodnight. Burial followed in Harnett Memorial Park.
The eulogy was given by Edgar Bain. Vocalist was Mary Margaret Smith and organist was Janice Smith.
Pallbearers were Mike Mann, Bill Mann, Fred Holloway, David Mann, Bruce Mann, Keith Mitchell, Kevin Mitchell, and Les Kagey.

ALFRED CLEMO
SANFORD - Alfred Maurice Clemo, 71, of 231 Lochmere Drive, died Wednesday (8/11/04) at his residence.
Born in Clifford, Pa., he was a son of the late William and Gertrude Glanville Clemo. He served in the U.S. Army as an intelligence analyzer.
Memorial service will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Fayetteville. Burial will follow at a later date in Aldenville Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
Surviving are sons, James Clemo of Sussex, N.J., Timothy Clemo of Fayetteville, Thomas Clemo of Blowing Rock and Robert Clemo of Fall River, Mass.; daughters, Margaret Daughtry of Sanford and Nancy Freeman of Fayetteville; a brother, Richard Clemo of Honesdale, Pa.; sisters, Wilma Trusky of Richmondale, Pa., and Beatrice Wood of Forest City, Pa.; 14 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

FUQUAY-VARINA - Beatrice W. McKinney, 79, of Fuquay-Varina, formerly of Lillington, died Thursday (8/12/04) at home.
A former resident of Lillington, she and her husband owned and operated Len's Grill for more than 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Len McKinney.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lillington United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Harriss. Burial will follow in Harnett Memorial Park.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandra M. Williams and husband Garry of Fuquay-Varina; sisters, Doris Norton of Dunn and Hilda Ausley of Fuquay-Varina; a brother, George Wise of Dunn; a granddaughter, two great-grandsons and three stepgrandchildren.

LILLINGTON - O. Melvin Stanley, 77, of Lillington, died Thursday (8/12/04).
He was a retired farmer and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Mt. Ariel United Methodist Church.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Rambeau Jr. Burial will follow in Westview Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Margie Bennett Stanley; daughters, Carolyn S. Cox and Bonnie Stanley, both of Lillington; sons, Walter Stanley of Knightdale, Donnie Stanley of Pennsylvania, and Ray Stanley of Lillington; a sister, Mavis Knight of Lillington; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

NANCY BROOKS
SILER CITY - Nancy E. Brooks, 73, of 930 Brower Road, died Wednesday (8/11/04) at Moses H. Cone Hospital.
She was a native of Chatham County. She was a member of Jordan Grove AME Zion Church where she was a deaconess, member of the usher board, senior choir and the Harmonetts.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Jordan Grove AME Zion Church by Gene Horton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, Fletcher Brooks; a son, Jennings Brooks of Greensboro; a daughter, Helen Handon of Suitland, Md.; and sisters, Evelyn Glover of Siler City and Maxine Bakeman of Greensboro.

SANFORD - Funeral for Charles Thomas Hazlewood, 83, who died Monday (8/9/04), was held Thursday at Cool Springs Baptist Church by the Rev. Ira Sutton and the Rev. Joshua Dickinson.
The congregation sang. Soloist was Steve Bristow. Organist was Frances Phillips and pianist was Myra Cole.

STANLEY BOUGHTON
SANFORD - Stanley Boughton, 91, of Carolina Trace, Sanford, died Monday (3/31/03) at Springhouse Assisted Living in Bethesda, Md.
He moved to Carolina Trace in 1977 after his retirement as president of Purdue National Bank in Lafayette, Ind. He played golf almost daily at Trace or Quail Ridge until suffering a stroke last August.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Sanford.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Erminie Bloyd Boughton, two sons, three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
GLENWOOD SHERRILL
SANFORD - Glenwood Sherrill, 49, of 1213 Kelly Drive, died Tuesday (4/1/03) at his residence.
Born in Robeson County, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Justin and Mandy Hunt.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home by the Rev. Otto Meadows. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Connie Wester Sherrill; a son, Michael Glenn Sherrill, at home; his mother, Vernie Mae Allen of Lumberton; his foster mother, Pauline Locklear of St. Pauls; brothers, William Nelson Locklear of Dunn, and Jerry Ray Hunt and Henry Dean Allen, both of Lumberton; and sisters, Earline Sanderson of St. Pauls and Virginia Gail Nobles of Lumberton.
