HARRY RAY HARRINGTON
BROADWAY - Harry Ray Harrington, 58, of 824 McFarland Road, Broadway, died Friday (12/3/04) at New Hanover Hospital in Wilmington.
A native of Lee County, he was the son of the late Reid Harrington and Katherine "Kat" McLeod Harrington.
He was a Mason and a hunting club member.
He is survived by his wife Theresa Turnage Harrington of the home, daughters Angela Jones and husband Phillip, and Laura Beth Harrington, all of Broadway; brothers Joe Harrington and Randy Harrington and wife Charlene, all of Broadway; grandchildren Emma Katherine Jones and Landon Jones, special nephew Justin Harrington, and special neice Kim Rodiquez.
Funeral will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Doug Houston. Burial will follow at the church cemetery will full Masonic rites.
Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.

MAE LANE
SILER CITY - Mae Marshburn Lane, 88, of 812 Siler City-Glendon Ave., died Tuesday (4/1/03) at Chatham Hospital, Siler City.
A native of Duplin County, she retired as an English teacher and librarian from Paul Braxton and Jordan-Matthews high schools after 33 years of service. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, where she served as church librarian, Sunday school teacher and director of the WMU.
She was a charter member of Siler City Eastern Star chapter 9, serving as secretary, Worthy Matron and Grand Page. She recently received a lifetime membership.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Lane, and brothers, Freeman and Norwood Marshburn.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Siler City First Baptist Church by the Rev. Jim Wall. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City.
Surviving are a daughter, Gay L. Fulbright and husband Fred of Raleigh; a son, Jimmy D. Lane and wife Becky of Siler City; two grandchildren and a nephew.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home and at other times at the residence of Jimmy D. Lane, 1013 Parkwood Drive, Siler City.

HENRIETTA BUIE
SANFORD - Henrietta Buie, 71, of Durham, died Saturday (3/29/03) at Duke University Medical Center, Durham.
Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pineridge Baptist Church, 631 San-Lee Drive.
Surviving are children, Frank Williams and wife Patricia and Frankie Lee Buie, all of Sanford, Norman Ray Buie and Rosetta Williams, both of Lillington, Eula Roberson and Donna Harb, both of Durham, and Katrina Williams of Raleigh, and 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Knotts Funeral Home of Sanford.

LILLINGTON - Laurie J. Page, 90, of Lillington, died Monday (3/31/03) at Good Hope Hospital, Erwin.
He worked for the Harnett County School Maintenance Department for more than 20 years.
Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Antioch Baptist Church, Mamers, by the Rev. Martin Groover. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Clara Rosser Page; a son, Roger Page of Lillington; a daughter, Helen Laugisch of Southport; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

SILER CITY - Sammy Brooks, 50, of Siler City, died Monday (3/31/03) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Jordan Grove AME Zion Church.
Surviving are daughters, Sarina Pearson and Katrina Petty, both of Sanford; sisters, Delane Hanner, Pamela Brooks and Angela Brooks, all of Siler City, and Lisa Brooks of Greensboro; his grandmother, Katherine Lane of Siler City; a foster brother, Harold Brooks of Siler City; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Jordan Grove AME Zion Church.

SANFORD - Funeral for John Lewis Sloan, 76, of 10 Creech Lane, who died Sunday (3/30/03), was held Tuesday at Mt. Pisgah Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dawes Graybeal and the Rev. Doug Houston. Burial followed in the Leaflet Presbyterian Church cemetery.
Pianist was Andrea Currin. The congregation sang. Soloists were Gene McNeill and Ronnie Womack.
Pallbearers were Tony Cox, Mac Harrington, Marian Taylor, Tommy L. Holder, Elvin Matthews and Halford Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers were Sam McArthur, Joe Wilson and Wiley Thomas.

LILLINGTON - Funeral for Troy B. Byrd, 87, of Lillington, who died Friday (3/28/03), was held Tuesday at Lillington Presbyterian Church by Dr. William Goodnight. Burial followed in Westview Memorial Gardens.
Soloists were Jessica Chagnon and Rodney Tart. Organist was Don Waters. Pianist was Susan Wester.
Pallbearers were Scott Murchison, Edward Murchison, Ryan Chagnon, Gray Chagnon, Quinn Tart and Ronald Tart.
Honorary pallbearers were Leon Shearin, Carl Patterson II, Reggie Denny, Tommy Carroll and George Hayslip.

MONCURE - Funeral for Bettie Ann Hicks Moore, 84, of 1153 Old U.S. 1, who died Saturday (3/29/03), was held Tuesday at Moncure United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jack Hunter and Frank Dixon. Burial followed in the Haywood Independent Bible Church cemetery.
Pianist was Eileen Cotten. Soloists were Elaine Lassiter and Keith Green.

SANFORD - Carl Wicker, 72, of Sanford, died Monday (3/31/03) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Born in Lee County, he was a son of the late Joe Bird Wicker. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donnie Merle Wicker, and his stepfather, L. Craig "Wick" Wicker.
Graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Lee Memory Gardens by the Rev. Tony Capehart.
Surviving are his mother, Mary Frances Gilmore Wicker of Sanford; daughters, Carla Renee Wicker of Sanford and Bridget Wicker Luther and husband Robert of Lexington; stepdaughters, Jerry King Calcutt and Brenda Bowling, both of Sanford; a sister, Elaine Wicker Desjardins and husband Paul of Waynesville; grandchildren, Stephanie Wicker Jordan, Brandi Wicker, Samantha Moore, Kelly Moore, Elizabeth Luther, Robbie Luther and Candi Gunter Ellis; and great-grandchildren, Marshall Jordan and Clyde Womack Jr.
