SANFORD - Funeral for Lois Goins Graham, 60, who died Thursday (11/25/04), was conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McQueen Chapel United Methodist Church in Lemon Springs by Minister William E. McIver Jr., the Rev. Larry Robinson, the Rev. Johnson and Gloria Tart. Music by Justice Griffin and the church choir. Interment was at the McQueen Chapel church cemetery.
Floral bearers were nieces and friends of the family.
Pallbearers were Jeff Petty, Jerome Petty, Phillip McIver, Billy Joe Simmons, Melvin McIver and Gary Simon.

ELIZABETH WHITEHEAD
SILER CITY - Elizabeth Street Whitehead, 89, died Thursday (11/16/04) at Sunbridge Care Facilities, Siler City.
Whitehead was a native of Moore County and a longtime resident of Chatham County. She was a member of Glendon Christian Church and was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Glendon Christian Church with the Rev. Jack Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
Surviving are husband, James Cletus Whitehead of Siler City; sister, Candace Street Simmons of Glendon, three nephews and 11 nieces.
Memorial gifts may be made to Glendon Christian Church, 148 Glendon Church Road, Glendon, or to the charity of one's choice.

LILLINGTON - A.C. Price, 71, of Lillington, died Tuesday (12/14/04) at his home.
A native of Caldwell County, he was born Sept. 19, 1933, to the late Mote and Lola Price. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and also retired from the textile industry. He was a member of Baptist Faith Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Thad Price, James Price and Mote Price Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Pendry's Chapel with the Rev. David Scott Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Price Family Cemetery.
Surviving are daughters, Diana Price Smith and husband Mike of Sanford and Audry Price Payne and husband Randy of Claremont; brother, George Price and wife Annette of Hickory; sisters, Edna Ingle of Hudson, Josephine Richards of Hildebran and Shirley Richards and husband John of Granite Falls; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

LILLINGTON - Funeral services for Morris W. Johnson, who died Wednesday (12/15/04) were conducted Friday at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel by the Rev. Joe Hare. Burial followed in Harnett Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were Tim Neighbors, Scott Neighbors, Kyle Hayes, David Moore, Tony Stewart and Melvin Stewart.

CARTHAGE - Jimmie L. Buie, 67, of 1009 Monroe St., Carthage, died Wednesday (12/15/04) at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Jonesboro Chapel AME Zion Church with the Rev. Yyonette Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Minter Cemetery.
Surviving are wife, Betty Buie of the home; son, James Buie of Georgia; daughters, Elaine Buie of the home and Sherry Baker of Sanford; sister, Constance Buie of Sanford and three grandchildren.

He was a retired travel agency manager and had spent many years with Eastern Airlines.

VERA MEASAMER
SANFORD - Vera Thomas Measamer, 90, died Thursday (1/6/05) at Central Carolina Hospital.
Born in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Thadeous Thomas and Verlie Pattishall Thomas. She attended Broadway School and was a graduate of 1932. She was a member of Shallow Well United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stamey Measamer, and son, Tommy Measamer and his wife Judy.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Shallow Well United Church of Christ with the Rev. Donald Thompson and the Rev. Lloyd Black officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Larry W. Measamer and wife Sharon of Broadway; a sister, Mabel Lloyd of Greensboro; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Her body will be taken to her home, where the family will receive friends.

SANFORD - Rosemary Hittle Ashbridge, 66, of 2910 Belmont Circle, Sanford, ended her journey on this earth and entered into the presence of the Lord on Thursday (1/6/05).
Born in New Madison, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Harry Hittle and Ruby Stump Hittle.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
Surviving are husband, Perry Ashbridge of the home; daughters, Lrae A. Newbauer and husband Gary of Sanford, Cynthia Ashbridge of Virginia and Melodie R. SANFORD - Floyd Lafayette Knight Jr. of Sanford died Friday (1/7/05).
He was the son of Floyd Lafayette Knight and Dorothy Ward Knight. He retired as maintenance supervisor of Lee County Schools in 1989. He served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Rick Martindale officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
Surviving are wife, Hope Goode Knight, sons, Floyd Lafayette Knight III and wife Lynn of Sanford and Robert Lee Knight and wife Carol of Banner Elk; a daughter, Susan Knight Norris and husband Jeff of Sanford; six grandchildren, Margaret Foss Knight, Aubrey Ellis Knight, Emma-Claire Norris, Olivia Ann Noris, Jackson Reese Knight and Sarah Katherine Knight and a brother, John A. SANFORD - John Mark Legg Sr., 49, died Friday (12/31/04) at UNC Hospitals.
A native of Charleston, W.Va., he was the son of the late Walter Franklin Legg and Ola Aleine Smith.

Surviving are daughters, Stacey Legg of LaGrange, Ohio and Tonya Johnson of Sanford; sons, John M. Legg Jr. and Thomas Mark Legg, both of Ft. Meyers, Fla., and John M. Legg III of Broadway; a sister, Brenda Wesley of Broadway and three grandchildren.
