RALPH WATSON
SANFORD - Funeral services for Ralph Monroe Watson, who died Sunday (9/28/03), were held Tuesday at St. Luke United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Carl Frazier and the Rev. Michael Coppock. Burial was in Buffalo Cemetery.
The congregation sang with James Kimball as organist.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Wednesday Morning Prayer Breakfast.
Active pallbearers were Ron Brown, Harvey Forbes, Kel Norman, George Harvey, Ron Elder and Earl Ballinger.
Arrangements were by Miller-Boles Funeral Home.
ATLAS BROWER
ROBBINS - Atlas Eddie Hue Brower, 94, of 59 Bailey Ray Road, Lillington, formerly of Robbins, died Saturday (9/27/03) at his home.
Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at New Zion AME Zion Church, Robbins. Burial will be at New Zion Cemetery, Robbins.
Surviving are wife, Elton Brower of Lillington; brothers, George Brower and Lannie Brower, both of Robbins, Roy Brower of Wilson and George Thomas Brower of Asheboro; and sisters, Cumi Maness of Wilmington, Del., and Nicy Slay of Asheboro.
Visitation will be held at noon Friday at the church.

ALICE COLEY
CARTHAGE - Alice Tyner Coley, 57, of 1464 Lamm's Grove Road, died Monday (9/29/03) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
A native of Moore County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Mable Frye Tyner and was preceded in death by a sister, Lisa Riley, a brother, Robert Tyner.
She worked last in the craft department at Wal-Mart and had also worked at Ithica in Robbins and Rite Aid in Carthage.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Summer Hill Baptist Church by Pastor Joseph K. Peters and Pastor Melvin Williamson. Burial will follow in Charlie-Grace Memorial Gardens (beside the church).
She is survived by her husband, Dwight R. Coley; daughters, Jerrie Irby and Teresa Waller, both of Carthage; sisters, Joyce Mims of Havelock, Sherry Muse of Lakeview, Luanne Omatoe of Bakersville, Calif., and Kay Tyner of Carthage; brothers, Billy Tyner of Orlando, Fla., Cecil Tyner of North Wilkesboro, Donald Tyner, Wayne Tyner and Phillip Tyner, all of Carthage; an aunt who raised her, Lettie Rosser McNeill; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
LARUE TRIPP
PITTSBORO - LaRue Cole Tripp, 92, formerly of 2624 Mt. Gilead Church Road, died Monday (9/29/03) at Sunbridge Care Center in Siler City.
A native of Chatham County, she was a daughter of Kemp Battle Cole and Sally Ann Williams Cole. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother, Ivy Moore Cole, and her husband, Roy Bunyan Tripp.
She was retired from Chatham Mills, where she worked as a label inspector. During wartime, she worked in the munitions plant in Carrboro. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, where she was in WMU and the adult Sunday school class.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church by the Rev. John Singletary and the Rev. Jim Wall. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Kemp Bunyan Tripp and wife Minnie of Chapel Hill and James Auburn Tripp and wife Jean of Pittsboro; a daughter, Ann Tripp Bouldin and husband Robert of Bear Creek; a stepbrother, James R. Durham and wife Ruth of Chapel Hill; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at Griffin Funeral Service.

DORIS GREENE
BULLOCK - Doris Harward Greene, 67, of 5069-B Townsville Road, died Sunday (9/28/03) at Duke University Medical Center Hospital.
Born in Chatham County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Harward and Eva Kirkman Harward. She was a retired computer consultant for the state of North Carolina.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home, Sanford, by the Rev. Gregg Presnal. Burial will be in White Hill Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, James Henry Greene; a son, Edward Joseph Wagner Jr. of Raleigh; daughters, Stephanie Wagner Winfield of Raleigh, Rhonda Greene Roy of Benson and Jamie Greene Hartnett of Selma; a brother, Herb Harward of Cary; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and other times at the home of the family at 2044 Stanton Hill Road in Cameron.

ROBINA CAMERON
SANFORD - Robina Seymour Cameron, 65, of Sanford, died Friday (9/26/03) at UNC Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Moncure. Interment will be in the Seymour Cemetery. There will be no wake.
She is survived by her husband, William H. Cameron, at home; a son, Ricky Simon of Benson; a daughter, Kim Adams, at home; brothers, Paul Seymour and wife Mae Ruth, James Seymour and wife Mary, and Leander Seymour and wife Ruby, all of Moncure; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

JIM SANDERFORD
NEW HILL - Jim Dee Sanderford, 83, of 5815 Old U.S. 1, died.
He was a native of Johnston County, the son of Lonnie Alex Sanderford and Fannie Bell Jones Sanderford.
A private graveside service will be held Friday in the Sanderford family cemetery in Clayton by the Rev. Mack Fowler.
He is survived by a brother, L.A. Sanderford of Clayton, and several nieces and nephews.

ARTHUR BROWN
SANFORD - Arthur Stanley Brown, of 2807 Charwood Place, died Saturday (9/27/03).
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at San-Lee Chapel by the Rev. Michael Boyette. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Crisp Brown; a daughter, Sharon B. Puryear of Sanford; a son, Daniel S. Brown of Kenton, Ohio; a brother, James L. Brown of Fayetteville; and six grandchildren.

GIBSONVILLE - Aliene R. Ross, 77, of 203 Sedalia Road, died Sunday (9/28/03) at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
A native of Guilford County, she was a daughter of Martin Hamilton Ross and Marcelle Chandler Ross.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home, Moncure chapel. Burial will be in Moncure Methodist Church cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth E. Saunders and husband Charles of Gibsonville; a son, Bari P. Ellington and wife Denise of Chico, Texas; a sister, Louise Blackwood of Melbourne, Fla.; a brother, Martin Hamilton Ross Jr. of Raleigh; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

CARTHAGE - Ella Mead McDonald, 99, of Dowd Street, died Friday (9/26/03) at Pinelake Health Center.
A native of Moore County, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Rachel Person Goins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Green McDonald.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Olive A.M.E. Zion Church by the Rev. Vernard Dowdy. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

ROBERT ANDERSON
SANFORD - Robert Douglas Anderson, 69, of 10 Magnolia Court, Carolina Lakes, died Sunday (9/28/03) at home.
Born in Ethridge, Tenn., he was a son of the late Robert Douglas Anderson and Mary Sue Warren Anderson. He was retired from the U.S. Army and was a bank security officer.
There will be an open house at the home of Penny Anderson at 10 Magnolia Court in Carolina Lakes from 3 to 5 p.m. Oct. 12.
He is survived by his wife, Penny Anderson; a son, Robert D. Anderson II of New York; daughters, Bonnie Anderson and Rebecca Anderson, both of Alexandria, Va.; stepdaughters, Michelle Granter of Sanford, Varerie Barlowe of Warrenton, Va., and Deborah Hersman of Lorton, Va.; and 10 grandchildren.
