SANFORD - Funeral services for Billy William Capps, 71, of 371 Buchanan Farm Road, who died Thursday (9/25/03), were held Sunday at Lee's Chapel Christian Church by the Rev. James Bowden and the Rev. Emerson Woodall. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Pianist was Jacki Cole. Soloist was Lisa Martin.
Pallbearers were Randy Lanier, Darryl Bain, Ken Bain, Buddy Capps, Ricky Capps and Ronnie Brown.
Honorary pallbearers were Dave Drayton, Obie Watson and Hayden Luxton.

WILLIAM DALRYMPLE
SANFORD - Funeral for William Clyde Dalrymple, 72, of 742 Dalrymple Farm Road, who died Friday (9/26/03), was held Sunday at Salem Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Tommy O'Leary. Burial followed in the church cemetery with full military rites.
Organist was Faye Cameron. Pianist was Larry Tipton and soloist was Susan Bailey.

MALLIE YOW
LILLINGTON - Funeral services for Mallie Lucas Yow, 90, of Lillington, who died Saturday (9/27/03), were held Monday at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel by the Rev. Elinos Whitlock. Burial was in Summerville Presbyterian Church cemetery.
Pianist was Andrea Currin. Vocalists were Harry Holder and Andrea Currin.
Pallbearers were David Lucas, Tyrone Lucas, Israel Lucas, Charles Gourlay, Sam Vaughan and Matthew Wood.
Arrangements were by O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home.
JOHN ROSSER
SANFORD - Funeral services for John Fletcher Rosser, 76, who died Saturday (9/27/03), were held Monday at St. Luke United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Carl Frazier, the Rev. Michael Coppock, the Rev. Reginald W. Ponder and the Rev. Harold Leatherman. Burial was in Buffalo Cemetery.
The congregation sang with James Kinball as organist.
Honorary pallbearers were Harry Miller, Dick Hoyle, George Palmer, Guy Boger, Earl Ballinger, Bucky Williams, Dennis Wicker, Paul Gay, Rex McLeod, Elton Cameron, John Daniel, David Stout, Scott Swindell, Herbert Keith, Bill Carter and Gilbert Rosser.
Active pallbearers were Joey Stewart, Tommy Rosser, Van Denning, Leslie Cox, Richard Feindel and Ross Hold.

NANCY ROSSER
SANFORD - Funeral services for Nancy Louise Stone Rosser, who died Saturday (9/27/03), were held Monday at Shallow Well Church by the Rev. James L. Rosser and the Rev. Donald Thompson. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Soloist was Jewelle Rosser. Organist was Patricia Maddox.
Pallbearers were family members.
Arrangements were handled by Miller-Boles Funeral Home.

ROBBINS - The Rev. Richard "Dick" Hayes, 77, of 230 Pinehurst St., died Monday (9/29/03) at Pinelake Health Rehabilitation Center in Carthage.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete with Kennedy Funeral Home.

SANFORD - William "Bill" Pretty of Sanford died Sunday (9/28/03) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

DORIS GREENE
BULLOCK - Doris Harward Greene, 67, of 5069-B Townsville Road, died Sunday (9/28/03) at Duke University Medical Center Hospital.
Born in Chatham County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Harward and Eva Kirkman Harward. She was a retired computer consultant for the state of North Carolina.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home, Sanford, by the Rev. Gregg Presnal. Burial will be in White Hill Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, James Henry Greene; a son, Edward Joseph Wagner Jr. of Raleigh; daughters, Stephanie Wagner Winfield of Raleigh, Rhonda Greene Roy of Benson and Jamie Greene Hartnett of Selma; a brother, Herb Harward of Cary; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and other times at the home of the family at 2044 Stanton Hill Road in Cameron.

RALPH WATSON
SANFORD - Ralph Monroe Watson, 79, of Sanford, died Sunday (9/28/03) at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at St. Luke United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carl Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
Mr. Watson was born in Lee County to the late Paul Watson and Eula Watson. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Rempson.
In 1936, he joined the Steele Street United Methodist Church, which is currently known as St. Luke United Methodist Church, where he has been an active member for the past 76 years. He was also an active member of the Men's Prayer Breakfast of the church.
Mr. Watson is survived by his wife of 53 years, Aline M. Watson; a daughter, Linda W. Kirby and husband John, granddaughter, Wallis K. Scott and husband Lark and grandson, Drew J. Kirby, all of Wilmington; and many loving nieces and nephews.

FLETCHER ROSSER
SANFORD - John Fletcher Rosser, 76, of Erwin Road, died Saturday (9/27/03).
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Carl Frazier and the Rev. Dr. Reggie Ponder. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.
Rosser was a graduate of Broadway High School, North Carolina State University, and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, past president of the Broadway Lions Club, past president of the Sanford Rotary Club, Sanford Elks Club, Sanford Central High School Booster's Club, Lee County MS Committee, Lee County Wildlife Club, and past director of the Sanford Area Chamber of Commerce.
Rosser was awarded the Governor's Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service in 1999, Small Business Person of the Year Award in 1999, Civitan Club Citizen of the Year Award in 1999, and Lifetime Community Service Award in 2003. He was a director and financial chairman of the Bread Basket since 1991.
Rosser was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Rosser. Survivors are: wife, Sarah Martha Rosser; son, John Fletcher Rosser Jr., and wife Marty, of Greensboro; daughter, Lynne Michelle Rosser Griffin, of Raleigh; stepson, James Hubert Dickens, and wife, Janet, of Jupiter, Fla.; stepdaughter, Clara Jean Dickens Oborn, and husband, Richard, of Fairfax, Va.; and sister, Eleanor Rosser Holt, and husband, J.R. Holt, of Broadway.

DELAWARE YARBOROUGH
SANFORD - Delaware Coe Yarborough, 83, of St. Andrews Church Road, died Friday (9/26/03) at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Tramway Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Scott Wilson. Burial will follow in Lee Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Yarborough was born in Surry County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal B. Yarborough. Survivors are: sisters, Alphie Coe Stone, of Sanford, and Dovie Coe Hampton, of Elkin; and 13 nieces.
The family will receive friends at Miller-Boles Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. today.
NANCY ROSSER
SANFORD - Nancy Louis Stone Rosser, 87, died Saturday (9/27/03) at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Shallow Well United Church of Christ, with the Rev. James Rosser and the Rev. Donald Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Miller-Boles Funeral Home of Sanford and at other times at the residence.
Mrs. Rosser was a member of Shallow Well Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul M. Rosser; brother, Alex Stone; sister, Lillian Medlin; and granddaughter, Joanna Rosser Sims.
She is survived by: sons, the Rev. James L. Rosser and wife, Jewell, of Graham, and Jerry R. Rosser and wife, Faye, of Sanford; sister, Lucille S. Branch, of Sanford; five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
