LILLIAN WEBSTER
SANFORD - Lillian May Webster, 90, of Sanford, died Monday at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
She was a daughter of the late Harry Lee and Lucille Anna Humphrey Evans and was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie D. Webster, and a sister, Winona Shields.
She was a resident of Lee County from the mid-40s until 1971 and was employed for 17 years at Cornell-Dublier Electronics as a quality control supervisor. She and her husband moved to Atlantic Beach, and after his death in 1977, she moved to Morehead City where she was a volunteer in her church, The Meals on Wheels Program, Hospice and Martha's Mission Cupboard. While in Lee County, she was a member of the Shallow Well United Church of Christ, then a member of First Methodist Church of Morehead City and most recently a member of Goldston UMC.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Miller-Boles Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Jerry Parson and the Rev. Donnie Thompson. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.
She is survived by sons, Richard L. Webster of Germany, Robert B. Webster of California, Donald K. Webster of Sanford, Roger T. Webster of Titado, La., and David Webster of Winston-Salem; daughters, Shirley Anne Wicker of Mocksville, Vickie W. Strickland of Carolina Beach and Mary Jo Thomas of Broadway; a sister, Louise Clipper of Bowie, Md.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Miller-Boles Funeral Home.

VIOLA ELLIOTT
SANFORD - Viola Ash Elliott, 56, of Sanford, died Monday (7/14/03) at home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Viola Archery Ash. She was a spinner at Cone Mills in Greensboro.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the Rogers Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Rocky Fork Christian Church cemetery.
She is survived by a daughter, Payton Ezzell and her husband Curtis, and a granddaughter, all of Sanford.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home.

LILLINGTON - Josephine Daniels Beck, 86, of Lillington, formerly of Fayetteville, died Monday (7/14/03) at Brookfield Retirement Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Lamar Beck.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
She is survived by a son, Frank Beck of Iowa; a daughter, Beverly Seiling and husband Tom of Marathon, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

SILER CITY - Funeral service for Audrey White, 89, of 4434 Alston Bridge Road, who died Friday (7/11/03), was held Monday at Gees Grove AME Zion Church.
Minister Arnold Headen read the Old Testament and evangelist Jackie Headen read the New Testament. Bobby Mitchell and Derez White accompanied by evangelist Steve White presented musical selections.
Floral bearers were Judy Currie, Jennifer Goins, Janice Marsh, Christie McNair, Jeanetta Shamburger, Tamika White, LaVonda Farrar, Teresa Dale Lynch, LaRita Mason, Karen Renee Miller, Zanetta White-Mason and Terri White.
Pallbearers were Eric Jeffries, Levan Lunsford, Eddie W. Martin, Anthony McNair, John White Jr., Myron White, Rodney White and Tony White.

SANFORD - Etrusa Mae Roberts Harris, of 743 S. Plank Road, died Tuesday (7/15/03) at Flushing Hospital in Flushing, N.Y.

EUNICE DAVENPORT
SANFORD - Eunice Adams "Preacher" Davenport, of Sanford, died Wednesday (7/16/03) at home.
A native of Durham, she was a daughter of the late G.T. and Mary Gibbs Adams. She was a member of the St. Luke United Methodist Church for many years. She was a member of the Sanford Cotillion Club, Pierion Literary Club, Tuesday Bridge Club, Thursday Bridge Club and taught the third grade at McIver School for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Davenport, in 1991.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Luke United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
She is survived by sons, John T. Davenport and wife Jean and Richard G. Davenport and wife Peggy, all of Sanford; a special friend, Jennie Partington; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at 710 Stuart Drive on Friday immediately following the funeral service.

LILLINGTON - Walter Clifford Upchurch, 41, of Lillington, died Monday (7/7/03) in Orlando, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Calvin Upchurch, and grandfather, Walter C. Upchurch.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Harnett Memorial Park by the Rev. Bobby Revels.
He is survived by his children, Jeffrey Upchurch Wheeler of Apex and Ashley Upchurch of Garner; parents, Carolyn Coats Elkins and husband Ray of New Hill; and a brother, John Michael Upchurch and wife Pam of Clayton.

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Fronnie Taylor Foushee, 88, formerly of Lee County, died Tuesday (7/15/03), at home.
A native of Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Owen and Letha Taylor.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lee Funeral Home in Little River/North Myrtle Beach. Burial will be in Southeastern Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by son, Rodney Foushee and wife Phyllis of North Myrtle Beach; a daughter, Debra Foushee of Little River; a brother, Wilbur Taylor of Charlotte; sisters, Barbara-Ann Maddox and Inell Taylor, both of Sanford; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

FUQUAY-VARINA - Gary N. Senter, 51, of Fuquay-Varina, died Wednesday (7/16/03) at Western Wake Hospital.
He was an avid fisherman.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Danny Jarman.
He is survived by his wife, Sadie Senter; a daughter, Crystal Senter of Angier; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Senter of Kipling; sisters, Annette Bennett of Kipling, Elaine and Karen Senter, both of Morehead City, and Sue Hubbard of Newport; brothers, Joe Senter of Youngsville, Darrell Senter of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Leroy Senter of Cary; and a granddaughter.

ERWIN - Caroline Schiermeyer, 59, of Erwin, formerly of Monroe Township, N.J., died Wednesday (7/16/03) at home.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 16 at Bunnlevel Presbyterian Church by the Rev. James Randall.
She is survived by husband, Alfred Schiermeyer; four children, two sisters and a brother.
