ROBERT YOW
SANFORD - Robert Lee Yow, 48, of Sanford, died Tuesday (6/1/04).
He was born in Lee County, a son of the late Harold and Ernestine Baldwin Yow. He was a machinist at Car Quest, formerly City Auto Parts, for more than 20 years.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Rogers Memorial Chapel. The family will greet friends after the service.
Survivors include daughters, Wendy Yow Stone and husband Tony of Sanford and Robyn Yow Ross and husband James Marshall II of Clayton; a son, Vernon Lewis Yow and wife Selina of Cameron; sisters, Sharon Y. Thomas and husband Mark of Broadway and Karen Y. Carter and husband Dave of Sanford; and seven grandchildren.

OLA CHEEK
SILER CITY - Ola Lynn Cheek, 80, of 527 E. Fifth St., died Tuesday (6/1/04) at Sun Bridge Care Facilities.
A native of Rockingham County, she was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Lynn and Beulah Robertson Lynn.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Piney Grove United Methodist Cemetery, Piney Grove Church Road, by the Rev. Herbert Lowry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are husband, William Gorris Cheek of Siler City; daughters, Nancy C. Wilson and husband Phillip and Kathy C. Chappell, all of Siler City, and Kim Cheek and husband Darien Holt of Bonlee; sons, Chester C. Craven of Georgia and Billy Cheek of Bear Creek; a sister, Sue Perdue of Reidsville; a brother, Reid Lynn of Reidsville; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Smith and Buckner Funeral Home, 230 N. Second Ave.
PAUL HALES
SANFORD - Paul Daniel Hales, 87, of Sanford, died Wednesday (6/2/04) at his home.
Born Aug. 16, 1916, in Moore County, he was a son of the late William James and Irene Hales. He was a member of McConnell Road Baptist Church in McLeansville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, three sisters and two children.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hales' family cemetery in White Hill by the Rev. Wayne Wright.
Surviving are a wife, Margie Prevatte Hales; a son, Kenneth R. Hales Sr. and wife Judy of Vass; daughters, Linda Plummer and husband J.T. of Greensboro, Ellen Payne and husband Paul of McLeansville, Judy Howard of Greensboro and Beth Terrell and husband Barry of McLeansville; a sister, Louise Cook of Monroe, Ga.; and 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home, and other times at his son's residence, 135 South St., Vass.

FRANK HONEYCUTT
VASS - Frank Honeycutt, 76, of 325 South St., died Tuesday (6/1/04) at his home.
Born in Moore County, he was a son of the late Archie Honeycutt and Mattie Crabtree Honeycutt.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Horace Warwick and the Rev. Eugene Ussery.
Burial will be in Johnson Grove Cemetery.
Surviving are a wife, Delphia Campbell Honeycutt; sons, Larry Honeycutt and wife Ludie and Allen Honeycutt and wife Connie, all of Skyline; a daughter, Barbara Thomas and husband Gene of Pinebluff; a brother, Robert Honeycutt of Vass; a sister, Rosie Scarborough of Pinehurst; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home, Sanford.
MINNIE JEFFRIES
SANFORD - Minnie Jeffries, 80, of 1362 Farrell Road, died Tuesday (6/1/04) at her home.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today at Gee's Grove A.M.E. Zion Church in Siler City. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is survived by daughters, Mada Jefferies-White and husband Harry and Sheila Jefferies, all of Sanford; sons, Sidney Jefferies and Rex Jefferies and wife Tara, all of Sanford; sisters, Lurlene Black and Faye Borders, both of Blacksburg, S.C.; a brother, Deroy Parker of Blacksburg, S.C.; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

CAMERON - Funeral for Larry Joseph O'Quinn, 57, of 276 Moody Road, who died Saturday (5/29/04), was held Wednesday at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Billy Keith. Burial followed in Holly Springs Baptist Church cemetery.
Soloist was Lynne Green. Organist was Cynthia Spivey.
Pallbearers were Jerry Flynn, Freddie Freeman, Scott O'Quinn, Thomas O'Quinn, Tracy Wicker and Jay Wilkins.
VIRGIL NALLEY
CAMERON - Funeral for Virgil Leon Nalley, 67, of 129 Old N.C. 87, who died Sunday (5/30/04), was held Wednesday at Hillmon Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Max Eller and the Rev. Sandy Marks. Burial followed in the church cemetery with full military rites.
Pianist was Wylene Keily. Organist was Joyce Rosser. Soloist was Patsy Cagle. The Hillmon Grove Baptist Church choir sang.
Pallbearers were Jason Dinkins, Dale Harrison, John Lemons, Kendrick McCoy, David Spivey and Mike Thomas.
Arrangements were by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
RALPH GUTHRIE
SANFORD - Funeral for Ralph Buren Guthrie, 85, who died Saturday (5/29/04), was held Wednesday at St. Luke United Methodist Church by the Rev. R. Carl Frazier Jr. Burial followed in Buffalo Cemetery.
Scripture readings were by W.C. Guthrie. Words of remembrance were by Stuart Guthrie. Organist was James D. Kimball.
Pallbearers were Stuart Guthrie, Robert Guthrie, Ray Guthrie, Linwood Guthrie, Reid Guthrie and John Guthrie.
