Burial was in the church cemetery.

PITTSBORO - Funeral for Ernest Samuel Ramsey, 87, of 1398 Old Graham Road, Pittsboro, who died Friday (5/25/04),, was held Saturday at Mt. Sinai A.M.E. Church in Pittsboro by the Rev. R. P. Lynch.
The Women's Missionary Society members of Mt. Sinai A.M.E. Church were honorary floral bearers. Floral bearers were Chatham County Schools retired personnel. Honorary pallbearers were Alexander Groves, E.T. Hanner, Henry J. Bland, Gene Gallistor and Larry Mabe. Pallbearers were Robert Bland, Wayne Brim, Wadell Emerson, Robert Scurlock, Steve Marsh and E.H. Dark.
Burial was in Pittsboro Cemetery.
WILLIAM McCULLOUGH
SANFORD - Funeral for William B. McCullough, 70, of 516 Makepeace St., who died Thursday (5/27/04), was held Sunday at Knotts Chapel by the Rev. Bruce Petty. Burial was in Lee Memory Gardens.
Floral bearers and pallbearers were cousins.

VASS - Funeral for George Brian Leach, 40, of Boston, formerly of Vass, who died May 24, was held Monday at Frye's Chapel FWB Church in Vass by Elder Kent McMillian.
Floral bearers and pallbearers were friends of the family.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Arrangements were by Knotts Funeral Home in Sanford.

SANFORD - James A. Vance, 70, of 2514 Meadow Lane View, died Monday (5/31/04) at Central Carolina Hospital.

JOSEPH FOX
SILER CITY - Joseph Eugene Fox, 81, of 2455 Silk Hope-Liberty Road, died Friday (5/28/04) at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford.
A Chatham County native, he was a charter member of the Silk Hope Ruritan club and also a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. He was retired from Southern States Inc. in Siler City.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Annie Ruth Perry Fox; daughter Becky Baldwin, of Pinehurst; son Richard Fox, of Siler City; brother Elmer Fox, of Siler City; sisters Ollie F. Buckner, Lois F. PerMar and Daphne F. Teague, all of Siler City; four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Funeral will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lamont Hemminger. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation is today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home, 230 N. 2nd Ave., Siler City, and other times at the home of Doris Thomas, 2349 Epps Clark Road, Siler City.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church building fund, 3631 Mt. Vernon-Hickory Mountain Road, Siler City, N.C., 27334.

SILER CITY - Sarah Mosely, 79, died Wednesday (5/26/04) at Sunbridge Rest Home in Siler City.

IRENE STRICKLAND
LILLINGTON - Funeral for Irene M. Strickland, 84, of Raleigh, who died Thursday (5/27/04), was held Saturday at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel in Lillington by the Rev. C. Paul Jones.
Burial followed in Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville.
Pianist was Gladys Woodall and vocalists were One Voice.
Pallbearers were Rodney Hartman, Ralph Connor, Don Cameron, Gerald Wiggs, Kevin Matthews, Reggie Bain, Carl Kelly.
Arrangements were by O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home.
MARVIN TODD II
KANNAPOLIS - Marvin T. Todd II, 42, of Kannapolis, died Saturday (5/29/04) at North East Medical Center following a long illness.
A truck driver and a member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church, he was the son of the late Guy Alexander Todd of Concord and Lois Jane Overcash Hilton of Kannapolis.
He is survived by sisters, Nancy Jackson of Holly Springs and Pamela Lynnett Helms of Kannapolis, a brother, two children, and six grandchildren.
Funeral will be held 11 a.m. Monday at St. Enoch Lutheran Church by the Rev. John Mark Beam and the Rev. Constance Garrett,
The family will receive visitors today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lady's Funeral Home in Kannapolis.

BOSTON - George Bryan Leach, 40, of Boston, formerly of Vass, died Monday (5/24/04) in Boston.
Funeral services will be held Monday at Frye's Chapel FWB Church in Vass. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Cesaltina Leach at home; his mother, Mary Leach of Boston; children Marco, Kimberly, Kelly, Denisha and Brian, all of Boston, and Brandi and George of Raeford; sisters Martina Elliott and Saundra Leach-Adams and one grandchild.

ALICE SEAGROVES
VASS - Memorial service for Alice Blanche Brooks Seagroves, 71, of 5091 Lobelia Road, Vass, who died Tuesday (5/25/04), was held Saturday at Mt. Pleasant Christian Church by Dr. Greg Poplin.
Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Pianist was Treva McKenzie. The church choir also sang.
Arrangements were by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
IRENE STRICKLAND
RALEIGH - Irene McLamb Strickland, 84, of Raleigh, formerly of Bunnlevel, died Thursday at Rex Hospital.
She and her husband were former owners of J.P. Strickland's Store in Bunnlevel. For more than 50 years, she was a member of the Lillington Chapter 243, Order of the Eastern Star. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Eldridge and Matha Young McLamb and was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Patrick Strickland.
Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today at O'Quinn-Peebles Chapel by the Rev. C. Paul Jones. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Surviving are daughters, Gail Hannon and husband Pat of Raleigh and Jo Ann Strickland of Virginia; sisters, Virginia Core and Josephine Faircloth, both of Erwin; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Gail and Pat Hannon.

CLAYTON - Vincent E. Jahner, 68, of Clayton, died Wednesday (5/26/04).
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cameron Grove Cemetery.
Surviving are wife, Eloise Jahner; daughters, Connie Batista and husband Carlos of Clayton, Sandra Lee and fiancé Doug Brock of Sanford, Karen Turner of Charlotte, Amber Underwood and husband Tony and Lisa Byrd, all of Fuquay-Varina; sisters, Tillie Booke and husband Richard of Lewiston, Ida., Pauline Kirscher and husband Vernon of Belgrade, Mont., Jean Heraut of North Dakota, Mary Ann Aner and husband Bob of Sun Lake, Ariz.; brothers, Leo Jahner and wife Ivela of North Dakota and Paul Jahner of Mott, N.D.; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 829 Creekside Drive, Clayton after the service today.
