Born in Johnston County on March 8, 1941, to the late Carl and Pauline Parrish Christian, she was the widow of Walter Jackson.
Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Barbours Chapel Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are a daughter, Kim Guignard and husband Donovan of Four Oaks; a son, Scottie Jackson and wife Darlene of Colonial Beach, Va.; a sister, Connie Christian Glover and husband Billy of Dunn; and six grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
CHARLIE COBB
GRAHAM - Charlie Cobb, 75, of 6219 N.C. 87 South, died Thursday (5/27/04) at Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Burlington.
Born Sept., 24, 1928, in Virginia, he was the son of the late Ernest Cobb and Nettie Sue Vaughan Cobb. He was a dairy farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Garner Cobb.
A private memorial service will be held by the family.
Surviving are daughters, Carolyn Duggins of Graham, Jenny Adams of Reidsville, Shirley Hackney of Sanford, Lillian Terry of Burlington, Violet Lovelace of Reidsville and Linda Critzer of Elon College; sons, Lonnie Wilson of Dunn, Jack Wilson of Burlington, Larry Wilson of Pittsboro, Billy Wilson of Orlando, Fla., and Kenneth Wilson of Burlington; sisters, Stella Dunnaway of Chesapeake, Va., and Mary Elizabeth Edenfield of Florida; a brother, Louis Cobb of Elizabeth City; and many grandchildren.
HERMAN LYERLY
SALISBURY - Herman Lee Lyerly Sr., 83, of Salisbury, died Wednesday (5/26/04) at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Peter's Lutheran Church by the Rev. David Ridenhour, church pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside rites.
Among survivors is a daughter, Sandra L. Lyerly of Sanford.

PEGGY BEARD
FAYETTEVILLE - Peggy Jones Beard, 72, of 1594 Baywood Road, Fayetteville, died Thursday (5/27/04) at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
She was a retired legal secretary for the Civil Service JAG Office at Fort Bragg.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Chris Aydlett. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park.
Surviving are a sister, Patricia J. Julian of Sanford, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Surviving are wife Louise, at home; sons, Edward, Dennis and Mark; brothers, Willis and wife Lela of Sanford and George of Lillington; sisters, Bessie Lee and Annie Lee of Broadway, and Mable Cotten of Sanford; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

SANFORD - Willie B. McCullough, 70, of 516 Makepeace, died Thursday (5/27/04) at Central Carolina Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Knotts Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lee Memory Gardens.
Surviving are his wife, Carol B. McCullough, at home, and children, Lavon Bessett, Gail Tracey and William Beatty.

Apex - Funeral services for Dewey Charles Fussell, 72, of 111 Hunter St., who died Thursday (5/27/04), were held Friday at Apex Baptist Church by the Rev. Phil Qualls. Burial followed in Apex town cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brian Holland, Ken Lee, Howard Barrett, Billy Thomas, Shawn McComas and Gary Covil.

BARBARA JORDAN
GOLDSTON - Barbara Bremner Jordan of Goldston died Tuesday (5/25/04) in Florida.
Born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Susie Hay Crosskill and Gerold P. Bremner. She was a member of the First Church of Christian Scientist in Boston, Mass. and the First Church of Christian Scientist in Sanford. She was also a member of the Christian Science Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Sanford Jordan, and by a grandson.
Arrangements are pending.
Surviving are sons, Allen Brewster Jordan and wife Linda of Maine, Paul Sanford Jordan and wife Sandra of Goldston and Peter Craig Jordan of Maine; daughters, Susan Malcolm Jordan Domato and husband Ralph of Florida and Nancy Jean Jordan Kirkpatrick and husband Earl of Florida; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

MARGARET BROWN
SILER CITY - Margaret S. "Fid" Brown, 80, of 18823 U.S. Hwy. 64 West, Siler City, died Thursday (5/27/04) at Sun Bridge Care Facilities in Siler City.
A native of Chatham County, she was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church and attended Moon's Chapel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ralph Brown.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, by the Rev. Scott Faw. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Christian Cemetery in Bennett.
Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Brown McNeill and husband Boyd of Siler City; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

JOHN WATSON
ABERDEEN - John Monroe Watson Sr., 88, of Aberdeen, died Wednesday (5/26/04) at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.
He was a member of Ashley Heights Baptist Church where he held positions as Deacon and Treasurer. He also retired from McCain Hospital as a switchboard operator after 30 years of service.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ashley Heights Baptist Church by Dr. David Burroughs and the Rev. Paul West. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are wife, Reatha Seawell Watson of Aberdeen; a son, John M. Watson and wife Phyllis Angel of Sanford; a sister, Flora Bell Ingram of Rockingham; a brother, Ralph Stutts of Rockingham; and two grandchildren.

Surviving are wife, Salome Ramsey of Pittsboro; son, Ernest R. Ramsey of Pittsboro; daughters, Ferne R. Alston of Pittsboro, Kathy J. Ramsey of Cary, Lorrie Ramsey-Bryson of Charlotte and Helen Brooks and husband Vernon of Pittsboro; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
