Richard Allen Alexander, 62, of 612 S. Edwards St., died August 18, 2003. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Ebony & White’s Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service in the chapel.
Born in Gaston County, was retired from American Efird and was a member of Link’s Chapel AME Zion Church.
Survivors include three brothers, Bally Alexander, Clyde Alexander and John Alexander Jr. all of Lincolnton and one sister, Savannah Alexander of Lincolnton.
Russell Ikerd
NEWTON - Russell “Russ” Coulter Ikerd, 85, of 3083 Buffalo Shoals Road, died Aug. 31, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Mays Chapel United Methodist Church where he was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Born in Catawba County, he was employed with Broyhill Furniture until retirement, and was a gardener and farmer. He was a member of the Balls Creek Optimist Club, and the Eastern Catawba County Beagle Club.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn B. Ikerd; a daughter, Dora Faye Travis of Newton; one brother, Daris Ikerd of Newton; one grandchild, Ty Travis; and one great-grandchild.

IRON STATION - Ida “Sis” Rogenia Robinson, 62, of 822 A. E. Stover Road, died Aug. 30, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church where she was a member. Born in Lincoln County, she was a CNA at Crowell Hospital for 18 years, and sang in her church choir.
Survivors include a son, Patrick Leo Robinson of the home; two daughters, Jacqueline Robinson of Mt. Airy and Donna Alisa Robinson of the home; her companion, Ernest Gaston of the home; two sisters, Constance Ann Ickard Cooper and Ada Ickard Derr, both of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Bobby Robinson, Anthony Robinson, and Dwayne Robinson.

Tommy Alexander Lockman, 52, of 256 Shady Lane, died Aug. 30, 2002. A funeral service was held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel at Warlick Funeral Home.
Born in Lincoln County, he was a U.S. Army veteran, and worked as a sales representative for Modern Electric.
Survivors include his wife, Freda Babb Lockman; two sons, Jason Lockman and Seth Lockman, both of Rock Hill, S.C.; his mother, Sarah Lockman of Lincolnton; two brothers, Jim Lockman and Charles Lockman, both of Lincolnton; and one grandchild, Xan Lockman.

CHARLOTTE - Lou Esther Abernathy Navy, 96, of the Brian Center, 5945 Reddman Road, died Aug. 30, 2002. A funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel at McEwen Funeral Home. A graveside service followed at 4:30 in Hollybrook Cemetery in Lincolnton.
Born in Catawba County, she was a member of Enderly Park Baptist Church, and the Faithful Workers Sunday School class. She was employed with Hudson Hosiery Mill for 27 years until retirement.
Survivors include two sisters, Nora Elizabeth Abernathy Turbyfill of Maiden and Maude Alma Abernathy Stamey of Lincolnton.

Evans Cox Sr.
MT. HOLLY - Evans Blair Cox Jr., 77, died Aug. 30, 2002. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lucia Baptist Church where he was a member. Burial followed in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Born in Mecklenburg County, he served in the U.S. Army Infantry, WWII, and worked for Duke Power for 33 years until retirement. He was actively involved in the building of his church.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Waldrop Cox; three sons, Mike Cox of Mt. Holly, Matt Cox of Stanley, and Tim Cox Sr. of Lowesville; two daughters, Mary Wilson of Belmont and Mona Morgan of Denver; one sister, Louise Rushing of West Columbia, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Tim Cox Jr., Christina Golightly, Holly Puffenbarger, Michael Wilson, Chris Wilson, Chad Wilson, and Courtney Cox; and four great-grandchildren.

Ida Boyd Rudisill, 94, of 219 McGinnis Avenue, died Aug. 31, 2002. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. today in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 2:45 p.m. today at Warlick Funeral Home.
Born in Catawba County, she worked at the Lincoln County Courthouse for a number of years, and owned her own beauty shop. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church for more than 70 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Jan Huitt of Lincolnton; five grandchildren, Durk Huitt, Babette Newton, Kip Huitt, Heather Lackey, and Hayley Modlin; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
