Sarah Ledford Weathers, 68, of Lincoln Nursing Center, died Sept. 27, 2003. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Friendly Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Born in Lincoln County, she was a retired kitchen employee at Lincoln Nursing Center.
Survivors include two sons, Clarence Weathers Jr. and Ted Weathers both of Lincolnton; three daughters, Cecelia Helms, Rhonda Carpenter and Mary Ann Hendricks all of Lincolnton; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Marie Newton
CASAR - Marie Scism Newton, 86, formerly of Wes Cook Road, died Sept. 27, 2003. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today at St. Paul Baptist Church, where she was a member. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Born in Cleveland County, she was a retired textile worker and homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, J.B. Newton of Fallston and Paul Newton of Myrtle Beach, SC; three daughters, Lucille North Carolina 28020.
Robert Perkins
DENVER - Robert Paul Perkins Jr., 54, of 7722 Deerborn Lane, died Sept. 25, 2003. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. today at East Lincoln Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 until 4 p.m. today at the church.
Born in Lincoln County, he was a mechanic at Perks Garage.
Survivors include one son, Jerrade Perkins of Penn.; his mother, Margaret Perkins of Denver; one brother, Randall Perkins of Denver; two sisters, Gail Church of Sherrills Ford and Betty Morris of Stanley; one step-son, David Johnson of Lucia and four step-granddaughters.
Bobby Dennis
DENVER - Bobby D Lynn Dennis, 62, of Denver, died Sept. 23, 2003. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Moody Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 tonight at the funeral home.
He worked for CBM Construction.
Survivors include two sons, Gregory Dennis and Tommy Dennis; six granchildren, Michael Dennis, Devin Dennis, Brandy Dennis, Tommy Dennis Jr., Megan Dennis and Carey Dennis; one brother, Sonny Dennis fo L.A. and two sisters, Nan Smith of L.A. and Martha Brooks of Ken.

Born in Cleveland County, she was employed by Heafner’s Superette as a cook.
Survivors include three sons, Farrell Anthony, Evan Anthony and Danny Anthony all of Cherryville; one brother, Gary Warren of Lincolnton; three sisters, Donna Blake of Bessemer City, Patricia Stroupe of Cherryville and Audrey Toney of Kings Mountain and six grandchildren, Heather Anthony, Blair Anthony, Kayla Dean, Christopher Dean, Cole Dean and Austin Dean.
Ruth Dellinger
Ruth Seagle Dellinger, 80, of the Brian Center, died Sept. 26, 2003. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Hollybrook Cemetery.
Born in Lincoln County, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Dellinger and Dennis Dellinger; four grandchildren, Ramsey Dellinger, Jay Dellinger, Zene Dellinger and Zack Dellinger and two great-grandchildren.

Born in Lincoln County, she was retired from Carolina Glove and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Olen Painter of Lincolnton; one daughter, Jane Gantt of Lincolnton; one brother, Doc Hoke of Davidson; one sister, Earline Canipe of Va.; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Lawson Eason Reynolds, 73, of 146 Shell St., died Sept. 28, 2003. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Born in Lincoln County, he worked in the textile industry.
Survivors include his wife, Mable J. Reynolds of the home; two sons, W.L. Reynolds and Larry Reynolds both of Lincolnton; one sister, Edna Rudolph of Lincolnton; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Floy Scronce
Floy Scronce, 93, of Cardinal Care Nursing Home in Lincolnton, formerly of Vale, North Carolina, Martha and Raeford Lingerfelt of Vale, North Carolina, Virgie and Richard Pendleton of Greensboro, North Carolina, T.C. Scronce of Raleigh, North Carolina; 34 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 16 great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held Saturday, September 27, 2003 at Macedonia Pentecostal Holiness Church. The Rev. Roger L. McSwain officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronnie Scronce, Jeff Scronce, Keith Pendleton, Tommy Pendleton, Charles Pendleton and Randy Dyles.
The family received friends on Friday, September 26, 2003 at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home in Newton from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
