Johnathan E. Marsan
Mr. Johnathan Ernest “Red” Marsan, 57, of Denver died December 21 at the home of his son. Mr. Marsan was born February 2, 1950 in Elizabeth City to the late Albert E and Mary Ward Marsan. He was an iron worker and a member of the Local 79 Iron Workers Union in Norfolk, Va. Services were held at the Christian Fellowship Assembly in Dallas, NC on December 27.
Survivors are two sons, Justin Marsan and Johnathan E. Marsan, Jr. both of Denver; one brother, Jessie B. Marsan of Norfolk, VA., one sister, Brenda Mohr of Claremont, Florida; former wife Diana Marsan of Ashland, OH; and three grandchildren.

Minnie Hooker
Minnie Lee Morgan Hooker, 92, of Denver and formerly of Chattanooga, Tenn. died on December 25, 2007 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of Ralph Hooker of Hot Springs, Ark. and daughter of the late Hon. Fletcher R. Morgan and Agnes Morgan of Chattanooga.
Four sisters, Lucile Blevins of Rising Fawn, Ga, Juanita Hudson of Athens, TN,
Alberta Pangle of Loudon, TN, Bernice Laub of Harrison, TN and one brother, John Fletcher Morgan of Denver preceded her in death.
Four sisters survive Mrs. Hooker, Virginia Gibbs of Virginia Beach, VA, Gertrude
Lemon of Lexington, NC, Agnes Hayes of Temple Terrace, FL, Barbara Napoleon of Naples, FL, and 43 nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister-n-law, Virginia A. Morgan of Denver with whom she made her home.
Mrs. Hooker (Miss Morgan) taught English at Chattanooga Central High School for 41 years prior to moving to North Carolina. She also taught English at South Iredell High School for 4 years.
Mrs. Hooker was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Graveside services will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Chattanooga at a later date.

Mary Ann G. Kendall
Mary Anne Gamache Kendall, 53, of Denver died April 7, 2008 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. She was born on July 28, 1954 in New Britain, CT to the late Leo and Grace Gamache. She worked with Oiles America and attended Lake Forest Community Church. Her favorite hobby was quilting.
Mrs. Kendall is survived by her husband, Jan Ross Kendall; sons, Richard Kendall and wife Deborah of Stanley; Corey Kendall of Poultney, VT; daughter, Simonne Allen and husband Jim of Sparks, NV and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at Lake Forest Church in Huntersville with Rev. Mike Moses officiating. Visitation will follow at the church.

Kenneth W. Connor
Kenneth Wells Connor, 76, of Les Lane died Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
He was born in Alta Vista, Va., son of the late Allen and Lucy Rhyne Connor. He was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth Wells Connor Jr. and Phillip Keith Connor, and a brother, William Connor.
Mr. Connor was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from the N.C. Air National Guard after 36 years of service. He was an aircraft mechanic. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, the Hornet's Nest Antique Auto Club, and the Carolina Historical Aviation Museum.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Sue Carpenter Connor; one daughter, Cheryl Connor of Charlotte; one son, Gerry Connor of Mooresville; three grandchildren, Dawn C. Davenport of Charlotte, Justin and Cayce Connor, both of Denver; two sisters, Katy Holingsworth of Cornelius and Sue Jane Hoffman of Lincolnton; and three brothers, Benjamin Connor of Hendersonville, Harry Connor of Greensboro, and Allen Connor of Hickory.
A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Connor will be held at 2 p.m. on April 12 at Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Janice Combs officiating. Eva Robinson Hill
Mrs. Eva Robinson Hill, 87, of Little Mountain Road in Sherrills Ford died April 1, 2008 at home. Funeral services were held April 3 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Westfall and Rev. Grady Barringer officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hill was born Jan.15, 1921 in Mecklenburg County to the late Coyte and Annie Mayhew Robinson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hill, a brother, Quentin Robinson, a sister, Alta Mae Black and a grandchild Keegan Hill McGinnis. Mrs. Hill was retired from Western Carolina University and Lenoir-Rhyne College where she was a house mother.
Survivors include two daughters, Billie Jo Hill Lawing and husband Jerry of Sherrills Ford and Jacquelyn Elaine Hill McGinnis and husband Morris of Cherryville; a sister, Frances “Ping” Long and husband Clifford of Charlotte; two sisters-in-law, Frances Robinson of Cornelius and Lattie Clodfelter and husband Joe of Troutman; one brother-in-law, Jim Hill and wife Nancy of Sherrills Ford; three grandchildren, Melanie Panaccione, Kendall Lawing and Kendra McGinnis; one step-granddaughter, Sabrina Boyer; and two great-grandchildren.

Carol Lee Hults
Mrs. Carol Lee Hults, 60, of Deer Haven Trail in Denver died Wednesday, March 19, 2008. A memorial service was held Saturday, March 22 at Harbor Presbyterian Church in Mooresville. Pastor Bill Heard officiated.
Mrs. Hults was born on Dec. 5, 1947 in Waverly, NY. She was the daughter of the late Orlo and Marjorie Colbuirn Mente. She was also preceded in death by one brother, James Arthur Mente. She was employed by Anatech Automotive Plating.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Hults; two sons, Gerald Michael McCarty and James Richard McCarty of Denver; four daughters, Karen Hults Rodgers of York, SC, Lynn Marie Hults of Mooresville, Christine Hults McMahan of Newton, and Kimberly Hults Davis of Mooresville; two brothers, Michael Orlo Mente of Anthens, PA and William Joseph Mente of Denver; two sisters, Cheryl Mente Keeler of Denver and Bette Mente Tuttle of Towanda, PA; and fourteen grandchildren.

Katherine Aderholdt Long
Katherine Aderholdt Long, 79, of Long Circle, Iron Station, died March 7, 2008. Funeral services were March 11 at Alexis Baptist Church with Rev. Sandy Marks officiating; burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Long was born Feb. 4, 1929 in Catawba County, the daughter of the late Aubrey Aderholdt, Jr. and Junie Berryhill Aderholdt. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; two daughters, Janet Long Crouse and Kathy Elaine Long; and a sister, Dot Hamilton. Mrs. Long was a farmers wife and later retired from Vermont American.
Survivors include one son, Dwight Long and wife Margie of Iron Station; two daughters, Rita Long Cherry and husband Al of Denver; and Libby Long Haines and husband Jerry of Iron Station; three sisters, Helen Smith of Newton, Peggy Smith and Patsy Peeler both of Lincolnton; three brothers, Bobby Aderholdt of Iron Station, Jimmie Aderholdt and Bud Aderholdt both of Lincolnton; six grandsons; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren.

Mary Evelyn Snead Beaver, 81, of Farmville died March 2, 2008.
