CONCORD - Donald Franklin Casper, 56, of 1304 Rosehill Court, died Jan. 28, 2004. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:30 until 9 tonight at the funeral home.
Born in Martin County, he was employed by Fabrication Associates as a professional estimator.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly B. Casper of the home; one son, Christopher Casper of the home; two daughters, Rozlyn Casper of the home and Zylphia Casper of Wilmington; his mother, Anna Casper of Iron Station; two sisters, Debbie Gates and Fran Goins both of Iron Station and one grandson, Bobby Switzer.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, PO Box 1235, Concord, North Carolina 28080.

Kathleen Cooke
Kathleen Ramsey Cooke, 80, of 1380 Confederate Road, died Jan. 28, 2004. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Riverview Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 tonight at Warlick Funeral Home.
He was born in Lincoln County.
Survivors include one daughter, Janey Ledford or Orange Park, Fla.; one brother, John Ramsey of Lincolnton and three grandchildren, Kelly Jernigan, Ben Ledford and Haleigh Jernigan.

Chuck Milburn
CHERRYVILLE - Charles Chuck Milburn, 40, of 2130 Leonhardt Road, died Jan. 28, 2004. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at South River Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 tonight at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home.
He was the owner and operator of Chuck’s Body Shop and attended Bess Chapel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Gale McSwain Milburn of the home; his parents, Clyde and Jane Milburn of Lincolnton; one son, Brent Milburn of the home; one daughter, Brittany Milburn of the home; one step-daughter, Amanda Beam of the home; one brother, Rick Milburn of Lincolnton and maternal grandmother, Lorine Carpenter of Lincolnton.
Memorials may be made to South River Baptist Church, 1340 Confederate Road, Lincolnton, North Carolina 28021.

Gina Beaty
IRON STATION - Gina Marie Thompson Beaty, 26, of 257 Shady Lane, died Jan. 28, 2004. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church. Burial will follow in New Grace Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
She was employed by Carolina University of Theology.
Survivors include her mother, Phyllis Merrifield Thompson; four brothers, Norris Hart of Iron Station, Bill Hart of White Pigeon, Mich., Jean Hart Jr. and Bobby Thompson both of Charlotte; five sisters, Connie Cooke, Tammy Hart, Meredith Caldwell, Julie Eddelsten and Lisa Messer all of Charlotte and her maternal grandmother, Iva Merrifield of LaGrange, Ind.
Memorials may be made to New Grace Baptist Church, 3462 Hwy. 73, Iron Station, North Carolina 28092.

Gordon Owen Crawford, 78, of 157 Openview Drive, died Jan. 28, 2004.

Garland Gilbert
Garland Teague Gilbert, 89, of 2479 W. Hwy. 27, died Jan. 27, 2004. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, where he was a member. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday at the funeral home.
Born in Lincoln County, he was auctioneer/owner of Lincoln Auction Company, was past Chief and retired volunteer of Howards Creek Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the American Association of Auctioneers and a past president of the North Carolina 28092.

John Cohen
VALE - John Gilbert Cohen, 74, of 7230 Ed Willis Road, died Jan. 29, 2004.
Arrangements are incomplete at EF Drum Funeral Home.

Houston McClure
Houston Powell McClure, 87, of 1480 Highland Bluff Court, died Jan. 28, 2004. No services are planned at this time.
Born in Bonsack, Va., he was a metal smith.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie McClure of the home; two daughters, Linda Vann of Napa Valley, North Carolina 28168.

Frances Carpenter
VALE - Frances Wyant Carpenter, 83, of 2647 Wyant Road, died Jan. 30, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Daniels Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Warlick Funeral Home.
Born in Lincoln County, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include one brother, J.T. Wyant of Vale; three sisters, Mary B. Reel of Iron Station, Mary Ellen Shuford of Lincolnton, and Louise Younce of Mich.; one grandson, Paul W. Carpenter; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Billy Hildebrand
HICKORY - Billy Edward Hildebrand, 74, died Jan. 30, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church where he was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Bass-Smith Funeral Home.
Born in Catawba County, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, and worked at Southern Desk.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Frye Hildebrand; one son, Wayne Hildebrand of Bethlehem; one daughter, Carolyn Stines of Vale; one sister, Myrtle Huffman of Hickory; two brothers, Eugene Hildebrand of Connelly Springs, and Clyde Hildebrand of Wilmington, Del.; one grandchild, Steve Hildebrand of Granite Falls; and one great-grandchild.

Jack Fulbright
Jack Leonard Fulbright, 74, of Fulbright Way, died Jan. 29. 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Mt. View Mennonite Church where he attended. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Born in Catawba County, he was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran, and was a self-employed truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie Gilbert Fulbright; one daughter, Diane Michigan.
Born in Monroe, Mich., she worked as an inspector with the Ford Motor Company until retirement.
Survivors include her husband, C. Raymond Carey; one son, Sherman M. Carey of Lincolnton; one brother, Rolland Hatfield of Monroe, Mich.; and two grandchildren, Bryce Carey, and Brett Carey, both of Lincolnton.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 201 Robin Road, Lincolnton, N.C. 28092.

Pauline Idol
Pauline Anderson Wilkes Czarnecki Idol, 79, of 580 Sherrill Farm Road, formerly of High Point, died Jan. 30, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Lincolnton Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 90 minutes prior to the service at the church.
Born in Wilkes County, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Wilkes of High Point, and George “Pete” Wilkes of Lincolnton; one daughter, Donna Bullins of High Point; one brother, Don Anderson of Aberdeen, Md.; one sister, Viola Branton of Bryson City; and three grandchildren, Dixie Morrison, Yvonne Reynolds, and Lowell Wilkes.

Franklin Long
Roy Franklin Long, 83, of Lincoln Nursing Center, died Jan. 31, 2002. A funeral service is tentatively scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday in the chapel at Warlick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born in Lincoln County, he was a U.S. Army WWII veteran, and worked as a dairy farmer until retirement.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Long of Troutman; one daughter, Faye Keener of Lincolnton; one step-son, Mark Stamey of Lincolnton; one step-daughter, Elaine W. Smith of Lincolnton; one sister, Dorothy Long of Iron Station; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
