Born in Haywood County, she was a merchandise clerk for American Greetings Corporation, a member of Durham Memorial Baptist Church in Charlotte and was a Past Worthy Matron of the Radiance Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Ned Russell James; four sons, Robert W. James Sr. of Stanley, Cecil Lawrence James, and Ned Russell “Rusty” James II, both of Charlotte, and Douglas E. James of Annapolis, Md.; one brother, William E. “Red” Husband of Charlotte; and ten grandchildren.

ATLANTA, Ga. - Rebecca Victoria Britt Mullen, 80, of 3180 Smoketree Road, died Jan. 31, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Lincolnton where she was a member. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 until 8 at Warlick Funeral Home.
Born in Robeson County, she was a former secretary at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Carl C. Mullen Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Johnson Britt of Lumberton; one sister, Corinne Lovette of Lumberton; and three grandchildren, Andrew Mullen, Rebecca Mullen, and Matthew Mullen.

NEWTON - DeWayne Wilson, 68, of 3629 Yount Road, died Jan. 27, 2002. A funeral service was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Living Word Pentecostal Church in Maiden. A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Piney Grove Baptist Church cemetery.
Born in Yancey County, he worked in the furniture industry until retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Mae Lloyd Wilson; four sons, Daniel W. Wilson of Lincolnton, Dennis B. Wilson, and Dustin L. Wilson, both of Newton, and David Ray Wilson of Hickory; two daughters, Donna Cook of Lincolnton, and Destiny M. Smith of Lincolnton; one sister, Dorothy L .Hager of Iron Station; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Born in Catawba County, she worked for Parker Hosiery until retirement. She was an active member in the WMU and a nursery leader for a number of years. She was also active in the Training Union Department.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy “Dot” Yancey of Newton and Bonnie Williams of Maiden; five brothers, Rimmer Baird of Denver, Yates Beard, Bill Beard and Jerry Baird, all of Newton, and Truitt Beard of Maiden; two sisters, Neta Parker and Annie Parker, both of Maiden; and two grandchildren, Michael Yancey and Mark Yancey.

He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran, and president of Cronland Lumber Company.

Ramirez of Lincolnton; one step-son, Kenny Dodgin of Lincolnton; one brother, Jack Cronland; two sisters, Nancy Cronland of Lincolnton and Ann Cronland of Cherryville; five grandchildren, Eula Cronland, Elizabeth Cronland, Carrie Cronland, B.K.
