CHERRYVILLE - Pansy “Pat” Josephine Witherspoon Pharr Houser, 94, of Alterra Sterling House in Shelby, formerly of Elm Street, died Feb. 15, 2002. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church where she was a former member. A private Burial will be at a later time. The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship hall one hour prior to the service.
Born in Gaston County, she worked for Carolina Freight until retirement. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Rachel P. White of Shelby; a son, Walter T. Pharr of Morganton; one step son, Bill Houser of Cherryville; two step daughters, Mary H. Hull, and Evangeline H. McMahan, both of Charlotte; two sisters, Polly Chiswell of Cary, and Doris Lynn of Shelby; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Born in Gaston County, she worked for Carlton Yarn Mill in Cherryville until retirement.

SHELBY - Genelia Wright McSwain, 83, of 1179 Dalton Street, formerly of Fallston, died Feb. 16, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Friendship United Methodist Church where she was a member. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 until 8 at Stamey Funeral Home.
Born in Cleveland County, she worked for Barnette’s Restaurant until retirement. At her church, she was a member of the Noah Wright Sunday School class and the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include two sons, Harold McSwain of Shelby, and Mike McSwain of Fallston; one daughter, Gay Anthony of Kings Mountain; two brothers, C.C. Born in Catawba County, he was a self employed farmer, and served as an usher and trustee at his church for many years. He was a member of the Balls Creek Optimist Club and a charter member of the Bandys Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Lou Ella Drum Story; one son, Phillip Story of Maiden; two daughters, Lovenia Story Keever of Maiden, and Patsy Story Isaac of Conover; one brother, Jess Story of Denver; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Born in Giatto, W. Va., she was a nurse at the Charlotte Sanitarium, Charlotte Memorial Hospital, and the Bradford Clinic. She was a member of St. John’s Baptist Church, and worked for many years with Harry and Bryant Company.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Gaston of Denver, and Sylvia Cross of Mt. Holly; one son, Kenneth B. Dunn Jr. of Charlotte; two brothers, Lindy Hawley, and Bobby Hawley; four sisters, Eva Mae Wallace, Lucille Rhyne, Estalena Jamison, and Dorothy Love; seven grandchildren, Sandra G. OAK ISLAND - Theron “T.W.” William Price Jr. died Feb. 16, 2002. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Eastway Drive Church of God in Charlotte.
He was a retired fire fighter after 25 of service for the Charlotte Fire Department, and worked for 10 years as a private investigator.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy P. Price; one son, Jeffery Brent Price of Charlotte; one daughter, Jennifer Nicole Eggerich of Monroe; his mother, Eunice N. Price of Lincolnton; and two sisters, Diane P. Moody of Lincolnton and Martha E. Price of Matthews.
