BLOOMFIELD, Conn. - Peggy J. Poston, 66, died Jan. 24, 2003. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel, Shelby, N.C. Burial will follow at Webb Memorial Lawns. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was born in Cleveland County.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Lewis Poston of Germany; two sisters, Julia Poston of Bloomfield and Louise Barrow of Shelby, N.C.; three brothers, Arthur Poston and Virgil Poston, both of Shelby, N.C., and Alfonzo Poston of Newport News, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
David Trader Sr.
CENTER POINT, W. Va. - David Earl Trader Sr., 37, died Jan. 28, 2003. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Spurgeon Funeral Home in West Union. Burial followed in the Randolph Cemetery.
Born in Clarksburg, he was employed by Burns Security.
Survivors include his wife, Melinda Kay Trader; a daughter, Mindy Lea Trader of the home; a son, David Earl Trader Jr. of the home; two sisters, Patricia Carpenter of Lincolnton, N.C. and Maxine Jones of Dyersburg, Tenn.; and his twin brother, Darryl Trader of Center Point.
Robert Gray
DENVER - Robert Adam Gray, 72, of 2720 Dalewood Lane, died Feb. 3, 2003. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Lukes Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 tonight at Warlick Funeral Home.
Born in Eden, N.Y., he was a superintendent in the construction industry and was a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Jolly Gray; four sons, Daniel Gray of Burton, Mich., David Gray and John Gray of Ft. White, Fla., and Richard Lawhorn of Denver; three daughters, Kathy Wooster of Burton, Mich., and Linda Davidson and Kelly Farkas, both of Denver; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

SHELBY - Ethel Wright Beattie, 87, of White Oak Manor, died Feb. 3, 2003. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mary’s Grove United Methodist Church where she was a member. Born in Cleveland County, she was a homemaker and was active in her church as a former member and president of the Women’s Society and a former Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include a son, Gerald “Gerry” Beattie of Concord; a daughter, Denna Holland of Lexington; a brother, Jeff Wright of Shelby; two sisters, Marie Jones and Leila Jones, both of Shelby; and four grandchildren, Angela Beattie, Christina Beattie, Daniel Holland and Sara Holland.
