Charles Lawing
Charles Lloyd Lawing, 73, of 2482 East Hwy. 150, died March 17, 2003. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. today at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:45 today prior to the service at the church.
Born in Lincoln County, he was a building contractor and a U.S. Navy WWII veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Dean Lawing; two daughters, Sandy Lawing Roseman and Lynn Lawing Black, both of Lincolnton; six brothers, Howard Lawing, Jackie Lawing, Donald Lawing, Wallace Lawing and Tony Lawing, all of Lincolnton and Jerry Lawing of Sherrills Ford; two sisters, Pat Rush and Jeanne Dellinger, both of Lincolnton; and three grandchildren, Brooke Roseman, Krystal Black and Jesse Black.

He was retired from Southern Paper and was a U.S. Army WWII veteran.

Baker and Katrina Reynolds, both of Lincolnton; four sisters; seven grandchildren, Austin Sugg, Cassidy Sugg, Johnny Baker Jr., Krissa Baker Goodson, David Ray Baker, Jason Reynolds and Carrie Reynolds; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mary Frances Carroll, 63, of 193 Sweetwater Trail, died March 19, 2003.
Born in Denver, Colo., she was self-employed as a commercial artist.
Survivors include a brother, Dave Culver of Aptos, Ca.; a son, Sean Culver of California; two daughters, Lacy Ann Dunaway and Jerra Rae Schaeffer, both of California.

Helen Collins

Born in Lincoln County, he retired from the finishing department at Carlton Yarn Mill after 36 years of service. He worked for Bike for 11 years and was a WWII U.S. Army Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Dellinger; a son, Daniel Lester “Danny” Anthony of Cherryville; and a grandson, Matthew Anthony of Cherryville.
