Mary Alice Rhyne Whitesides, 82, of 1821 Southside Road, died April 5, 2002. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. today at Southside Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Whitesides; one son, Elliott Whitesides of Lincolnton; one daughter, Sue Hoffman of Birmingham, Ala.; one brother, Hubert Rhyne of Lincolnton; one sister, Brice Whitesides of Iron Station; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Lestina Oates Reinhardt, 77, of 224 Newbold Street, died April 5, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. today at Providence Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member. Born in Gaston County, she was a member of the senior choir, an usher, and the missionary of her church. She worked with Knitso until retirement.
Survivors include one son, Luke C. Reinhardt Jr. of Lincolnton; four daughters, Margaret Farley, and Diane Lynch, both of Lincolnton, Jeanette Nixon of Denver, and Virginia Reinhardt of Shelby; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Born in Catawba County, she was a spinner for Carolina Mills until retirement.
Survivors include four daughters, Frankie Detter, and Wanda Eades, both of Maiden, Shelvia Hicks of Denver, and Robin Lail of Lincolnton; two sisters, Lucille Holland, and Lou Ella Story, both of Maiden; two brothers, Ernest Drum, and Buck Drum, both of Maiden; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Virginia Beheler
Virginia R. Beheler, 83, of the Brian Center, formerly of Charlotte, died April 5, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Hankins & Whittington Dilworth Chapel. Internment will follow in Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 until 8:30 at the funeral home.

WINSTON -SALEM - Williams Ed Andrews, 85, of 1244 Arbor Road, died April 7, 2002. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bethlehem United Methodist Church cemetery in Statesville. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Maple Springs United Methodist Church where he was a member.
Born in Davidson, he served as a missionary in Southern Brazil for 18 years where he founded several churches and was the pastor, director, and District Superintendent of a private Methodist boarding school for boys. He served in many churches including Rhyne-Heights United Methodist Church in Lincolnton, as well as churches in Franklin, Jefferson, Ashe County, and Statesville.
Survivors include one son, Rev .Mark Andrews of Belmont; three daughters, Judy Starnes of Hickory, Becky Hyder of Louisville, Ky., and Susie Bell of High Point; two brothers, Rev. Russell Andrews of Lake Junaluska, and Ed Andrews of Maine; three sisters, Mary Christopher of Landrum, S.C., Helen Andrews of Asheville, and Claire Brown of California; and ten grandchildren.
