Pearl Banks
VALE — Pearl K. Banks, 96, of 1492 Cat Square Road, died Jan. 26, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Hill Baptist Church where she was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
Born in Great Falls, S.C., she was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Sid Banks; three sons, Thomas “T.S.” Banks of Vale, Clarence Benjamin “C.B.” Banks of Kannapolis, and Vernon Banks of Lincolnton; four daughters, Lithia Williams, and Annie Bryant, both of Vale, Christine Bess, and Catherine Nichols, both of Lincolnton; two brothers, Robert Kinlow of Waco and William Kinlow of Cherryville; five sisters, Georgia Jefferies of Cherryville, Willie Mae Cumberlander of Waco, Curlee Clemons of Statesville; Ella Frances Cunningham of Lincolnton, and Katherine Bolder of Greensboro; 30 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

CHERRYVILLE — Boyce Wayne Timothy Pope Sr., 57, of 208 Marcus Drive, died Jan. 23, 2002. A funeral service was held 2 p.m. Sunday at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont.
Born in Gaston County, he was a supervisor of Carolina Mills until retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Martin Pope; three sons, Boyce Wayne Timothy Pope Jr. of Stanley, Richard Lee Pope of Belmont, and Billy Joe Pope of Gastonia; three daughters, Rebecca Gayle Martin of High Shoals, Angela Christine Pope of Cherryville, and Geisha Renee Cheshire of Belmont; two brothers, Gary Lee Pope of Belmont, and Billy Max Pope of Gastonia; three sisters, Carolyn Wyatt and Jane Pope, both of Bessemer City, and Kay Pope of Belmont; and 11 grandchildren.

Annie Remona Edge Darnell, 73, of 221 McGinnis Avenue, died Jan. 26, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Fellowship Christian Community Center. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery.
Born in Buncombe County, she worked in child care for the Fellowship Christian Center.
Survivors include one son, Tony L. Darnell of Huntersville; one daughter, Nickie D. Avery of Lincolnton; her mother, Vera McGregor Edge of Lincolnton; two brothers, Robert H. Edge of Lincolnton, and William L. Edge of Titusville, Fla.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Born in Lincoln County, he was a dairy farmer until retirement.
Survivors include four sons, Billy Joe Lynch of Lincolnton, Charles Lynch of Elk Creek, Johnny Lynch of Cherryville, and Fred Lynch of Troutman; five daughters, Lucille Garner of Walkertown, Betty Bradshaw of Mooresville, Margaret Baer of Maryville, Tenn., Judy Meadows of Vale, and Frances Hall of Burlington; one brother, Dee Lynch of Denver; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Born in Burke County, he worked for RSI Home Products.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Shull, and Jeff Fowler, both of Vale; one daughter, Cynthia Goins of Lincolnton; his mother and step-father, Laura Willis and L.A. Willis of Vale; one brother, Hugh Shull of Sunshine, Bostic; two sisters, Kitty Barrett of Lawndale, and Margaret Rudisill of Vale; four grandchildren, Mackenzie Goins, Cricket Shull, Cierra Shull, and Brittney Fowler.

Born in Yancey County, he worked in the furniture industry until retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Mae Lloyd Wilson; four sons, Daniel W. Wilson of Lincolnton, Dennis B. Wilson, and Dustin L. Wilson, both of Newton, and David Ray Wilson of Hickory; two daughters, Donna Cook of Lincolnton, and Destiny M. Wilson of Newton; three brothers, Norris Wilson, Hugh Wilson, and Gary Wilson, all of Spruce Pine; six sisters, Hazel Wyatt, Brenda Watson, and Glenda Fox, all of Spruce Pine, Mildred Wilson of Marion, Phyllis Manus of Miss., and Erma Wilson of Hudson; 14 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
