Born in Bridgeport, Conn., he worked in the manufacturing industry with machine maintenance.
Survivors include his twin sons, Joseph Earl Doucette of Arizona, and Paul Henry Doucette of Stafford Springs, Conn.; four daughters, Virginia Hickton of Rockville, Conn., Bettyann Doucette of Colchester, Conn., Joyce Atwell, and Nadine Becker, both of Lincolnton; 27 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Willie Hedspeth
Willie Head Mayberry Hedspeth, 98, of the Brian Center, formerly of Boger City, died today, June 17, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Warlick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Antioch Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 until 8:30 at the funeral home.
Born in Catawba County, she worked for Burlington Industries until retirement.
Survivors include one son, William Mayberry of Lincolnton; two daughters, Lucille M. McCoy and Hazel M. Goins, both of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

STANLEY - William Lee Bridges, 61, of 139 Rural Lane, died June 16, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he was a member. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 9 at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Born in Gaston County, he worked for Mastercraft in Cramerton until retirement.

STANLEY - Mark Edward Adam, 48, of 7537 Sifford Road, died June 15, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Hills Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Montrose Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Born in Keokuk, Iowa, he was the owner of Adams Landscaping Co., Inc.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon McGraw Adams; two daughters, Melanie Erin Adams of Greenville, S.C., and Lauren Elizabeth Adams of Keokuk, Iowa; a son, Brian Wesley Adams of Groton, Conn.; and his parents, Clarence Elsworth Adams and Joy Dose Adams of Keokuk, Iowa.

Robert Rudisill
STANLEY - Robert Len Rudisill, 87, of Stanley Total Living Center, formerly of Denver, died June 17, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Denver United Methodist Church where he was a member. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 until 8:30 at Warlick Funeral Home.
Born in Catawba County, he was a welder at the Wilmington shipyards during WWII, and worked for Duke Power Co. for 30 years until retirement. He belonged to the Jeremiah Sunday School class at his church and was a former member of the Mt. Holly Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include two sons, Robert G. Rudisill of Lucia, and Harron “Gene” Rudisill of Jersey City, N.J. and Denver; one brother, Lawrence Rudisill of Stanley; two grandchildren, Jim Rudisill of Denver, and Jennifer Huff of Charlotte; and three great-grandchildren.

Yates Woodrow Self, 85, of 911 Salem Church Road, died June 17, 2002. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. today at Asbury United Methodist Church where he was a member. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Born in Lincoln County, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, and worked as a supervisor in the textile industry.
Survivors include one son, William “Bill” Self of Lincolnton; three daughters, Judy Bailey, Jane Lockman, and Janis Self, all of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Michael Bailey, Rob Bailey, Greta Kale, and David Self; and five great-grandchildren.

Harold Sipe
CHERRYVILLE - Harold Jack Sipe, 79, of 204 Harrelson Road, died June 16, 2002. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. today in City Memorial Cemetery.
Born in Gaston County, he was a U.S. Army veteran of the 29th Division during WWII, and the owner and operator of Peoples Cleaner of Cherryville until retirement,. He was a member of Community Pentecostal Holiness Church in Stanley.
Survivors include his wife, Margarie Ballard Sipe; a son, Larry Sipe of Kings Mountain; a brother, Maurice Sipe of Los Angeles, Washington Avenue, died June 18, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the chapel at Warlick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
She was born in Mecklenburg County.
Survivors include two daughters, Laura McGinnis Steedly of Bessemer City, and Nancy Diane McGinnis Barber of Athens, Ga.; one brother, Jay Robinson of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Eloua Ballinger of Drexel, and Margaret Williams of Morganton; two grandchildren, Tanya Nicole Steedly Purcell, and Dawne Yvette Townsend; and two great-grandchildren.

CHERRYVILLE - Ruby Paysour Craig, 87, of 7642 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy., died June 18, 2002. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. today at Second Baptist Church where she was a member. Burial followed in City Memorial Cemetery in Cherryville.
Born in Gaston County, she was retired as the manager and owner of Craig Cleaners. At her church she was a member of the Mother’s Sunday School Class, and started a quilting class.
Survivors include one son, B. Thomas Craig of Charlotte; one daughter, Betty Craig Jackson; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
