Born in Lincoln County, he was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness and was employed by the Lincoln County Recreation Department as a park maintenance worker.
Survivors include his wife, Mary F. Logan; a son, Michael Logan of Bronx, N.Y.; a daughter, Henrietta Middleton of Charlotte; four sisters, Amelia Alexander of Houston, Texas, Frankie Edgerton of Ohio, Ann Burton of Lincolnton, and Edith Jones of Iron Station; and six grandchildren.

SHERRILLS FORD — Mamie White Drum, 85, of the Brian Center, formerly of 6319 Lineberger Road, died June 24, 2002. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Born in Catawba County, she was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, and a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Keith Drum of Chapel Hill; a daughter, Kay D. Muender of Sherrills Ford; a sister, Essie W. Roth of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, R. Michael Muender, and Teresa Maddox; and three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include six sons, William Ray Littlejohn, Gene Littlejohn, Grady Littlejohn, Charles Littlejohn, Lawson Littlejohn Jr., and Albert Lee Littlejohn, all of Lincolnton; two sisters, Inez Stewart of Gastonia, and Kathleen Forney Green of Lincolnton; 31 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

MAIDEN — Howard A. Rome, 88, of the Brian Center, formerly of 340 South 8th Street, died June 27, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Maiden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 until 8 at the funeral home.
Born in Rutherford County, he was a member of First United Methodist Church and was employed with American Efrid as a textile worker.
Survivors include a son, Tom Rome of Maiden; a daughter, Donnis Martin of Maiden; a brother, Clyde Rome of Maiden; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Gaynelle D. Koon, 75, of 709 South Tait Street, Apt. 24, died May 30, 2003. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Dallas Church of God. Burial followed in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Born in Spartenburg County, SC. She was a weaver in the textile industry.
Survivors include one son, Gerald Gibson of Lincolnton; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was a WWII U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from Furr Seed Store.
Survivors include three stepsons, Robert Bruce Johnson of Denver, Mark Johnson and Carlton Johnson of Kannapolis; two brothers, Joe Robinson of Locust and Bill Wedenfellow of St. Augustine, Fla. and two sisters, Margaret Anderson of Charlotte and Majorie Phillips of Orlando, Fla.

Born in Catawba County he was the retired owner of Yoder Fuel Company, a charter member and past president of the Newton Lions Club and the district governor for the District 31 B Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife Margaret Setzer Yoder; one son, Phillip Yoder of Newton; one daughter, Judy Geitner of Hickory; one sister, Ovelia Phelps of Greensboro; three grandsons, Doug Yoder of Hickory, Davide Yoder of Newton and John Geitner of Hickory; one granddaughter, Brooke Robbins of Statesville and seven great-grandchildren.
