HICKORY — Johnny Mathis “Johnny Mack” Robinson, 64, of Apt. 151 D. 18th Street Place, died June 15, 2003. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brevard’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in St. James United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
Born in Lincoln County, he was a car detailer.
Survivors include his mother, Willie Corine Robinson of the home; two brothers, Grover Robinson of Conover and George Robinson of Stanley; and one sister, Florine Reinhardt of Hickory.

CHERRYVILLE — James Wiley Beam, 74, of 739 Helton Road, died June 17, 2003. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today at Shady Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He was a retired mechanic with Beam’s Firestone and Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his son Steve Beam of Cherryville; two grandsons, Dustin Beam and Daniel Beam; one sister, Ruth Bell of Kings Mountain; three brothers, Derrill Beam of Cherryville, Hudson Beam of Bessemer City and Ronnie Beam of Cherryville.

Survivors include one son, Jim Whitener of Charlotte; two daughters, Judy W. Beam of Cherryville and Carole W. Beal of Lincolnton; six grandchildren, Warren W. Beam, Cindy Beal, Adrienne Davis, Marilyn Beal, Bob Beal and Kurt Beal and four great-grandchildren.
