CROUSE - Helen Triolo Hamrick, 71, of 5239 Crouse Road, died July 5, 2002. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. today in the chapel at Warlick Funeral Home.
Born in Passaic County, N.J., she worked as a doffer in the textile industry.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Hamrick; two sons, Frederick Hamrick of Lawndale, and Leroy Nagy of California; four daughters, Francine Houser, Cheryl Nagy, Julie Parillo, all of Lincolnton, and Darlene McIntire of Fallston; three sisters, Dorothy Knapp of New Jersey, Tina Vinchkoski, and Josie Giunta, both of Florida; 13 grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Bethphage Lutheran Church, 3440 Hwy. 182, Lincolnton, N.C. 28092.

Burlon Craig
VALE - Burlon B. Craig, 88, of 3183 Cat Square Road, died July 7, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel at Stamey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
Born in Catawba County, he was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran who served in the Pacific and was a lifelong potter.
Survivors include three sons, Roy Lester Craig of Hickory, Dale Everette Craig of Vale, and Burlon Donald Craig of Golden Valley; two daughters, Colleen Alexander of Harmony, and Sue Heavner of Vale; four brothers, Ollen O. Craig, and Alvin A. Craig, both of Hagerstown, Harold H. Craig of Cary, and Paul P. Craig of North Wilksboro; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Carroll Houck
SHELBY - Carroll Alexander Houck, 84, of 4003 Pleasant Grove Church Road, died July 8, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel at Stamey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Born in Burke County, he was a shipyard welder until retirement.
Survivors include three sons, James Watts of Shelby, Lonnie Houck of Vale, and Bobby Houck of Lincolnton; three daughters, Carolyn Smith of Fallston, Patricia Armstrong of Connelly Springs, and Lisa Houck of Shelby; ten grandchildren, Angela Closky, Jennifer Bennett, Stephanie Purnell, Janice Watts, Shannon Armstrong, Christina Purnell, Alex Houck, Dylan Morrison, Sierra Newton, and Travis Watts; one step-grandchild, Tammy Dellinger; and eight great-grandchildren.

Seth Yount
CONOVER - Seth Sherrill Yount, 88, of Highway 10 East, died July 8, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Claremont where he was a member. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Born in Catawba County, he worked for Fiber Manufacturing for 40 years and Southern Furniture Company until retirement. He was a member of the men’s club at his church.
Survivors include his wife, Edith N. Yount; a daughter, Mary Yount Yoder of Newton; a sister, Lucille Morrow; two grandchildren, Phillip Douglas Yoder and David Allen Yoder; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 3214 Catawba St., Claremont, N.C. 28610.

Daniel Jonas Jr.
VALE - Daniel Burgin Jonas Jr., 75, of 2865 Cansler Road, died July 9, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Reepsville Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Bethel Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church beginning two hours prior to the service.
Born in Lincoln County, he was a boring machine operator in the furniture industry and was retired from Thomasville Furniture.
Survivors include three sons, Audie Russ Jonas, and Charles Lee Jonas, both of Vale, and Daniel Mayo Jonas of Lawndale; three daughters, Shirley Elaine Cook, and Barbara Jonas Young, both of Vale, and Patricia Starleen Deal of Chattanooga, Tenn.; three sisters, Connie J. Hoyle, Lois J. Wilkinson and Dorothy J. Johnson, all of Vale; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Warlick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Christine Brawley
MOORESVILLE - Christine Harkey Brawley, 78, of Mt. Ulla Highway, died July 9, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Jones Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member. Burial will follow in Glenwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends tonight at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home from 6:30 until 8:30.
Born in Lincoln County, she worked in the weave room at Burlington Industries until retirement.
Survivors include two sons, Barry Brawley of Mooresville and John Brawley Jr. of Mt. Ulla; two daughters, Pat Williams and Beth Webster, both of Mooresville; two sisters, Ruth Dellinger, and Mildred Hooper; a brother, Russell Harkey; eight grandchildren, Allen Brawley, Carole Barnette, Chris Williams, Andy Williams, Kristen Brawley, Trey Brawley, Bethany Webster, and Sammy Webster; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Iredell County, 403 E. Statesville Ave., Mooresville, N.C. 28115.

Debra Beldin
CHERRYVILLE - Debra Ann Beldin, 37, of 113 Banks Drive #21, died July 10, 2002. No services are planned at this time.
Born in Georgia W. Lyons, both of Lincolnton and Emmy Huch of Vale; two brothers, Bill Bracey of Charlotte, and Curtis Bracey of Lincolnton; two sisters, Bettie B. Woods, and Mildred B. Wilson, both of Lincolnton; 22 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Jeane Dunn
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Jeane Bexley Dunn, 80, died July 10, 2002. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill where she was a member.
Born in St. Charles, Ga., she was a Sunday School teacher at her church, a former Girl Scout leader, and a member of the Rock Hill Junior League. She worked with M. Lowenstein Company for 20 years until retirement, and was an experienced dietitian and tailor.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Boone of Beaufort, S.C., and Karen Morgan of Lincolnton; a sisters, Dot Torras of Atlanta, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Rock Hill or a local Hospice.
Copeland Funeral Home of Beaufort, S.C., is in charge of arrangements.

Dare Woodruff
Dare Woodruff, 79, of Cardinal Health Care, died July 9, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel at Warlick Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Born in Watauga County, she was employed with Excell in Lincoln County.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert William Woodruff; four sons, David L. Woodruff of Maiden, Bobby J. Woodruff of Cherryville, Cecil W. Woodruff of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Vonley H. Woodruff of Lincolnton; a daughter, Virginia D. McCaslin of Lincolnton; a sister, Mae Arrington of Greensboro; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Ella Alexander
MAIDEN - Ella Bea Alexander, of Deerfield Drive, died July 9, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Catawba Valley Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 8 at Burke Mortuary Memorial Chapel.
Born in Wilkes County, she was a CNC Nursing Agent.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Dean Alexander; three daughters, Janet Ollis of Longview, Kathy Butler of Hickory, and Judy Childrens of Stony Point; a brother, Buck Taylor of Rock Hill, S.C.; five half-sisters, Sandra Ball, and Lola Ball, both of Taylorsville, Billie Brown of Fort Mills, S.C., Dollie Greene of Monroe, and Grace Taylor of Spartanburg, S.C.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Kevin Walls
SHELBY - Kevin Bernard Walls, 19, of 512 Northern St., died July 11, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Faith Harvest Church. Burial will follow in Webb Memorial Lawns. The family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
He was born in Cleveland County.
He is survived by his father, Kelly Raynard Chambers.

Louise Brown
CHERRYVILLE - Louise Tallent Brown, 86, of 7311 Flay Road, died July 12, 2002. A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Bess Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a member. Burial follow in the church cemetery.
Born in Lincoln County, she was the owner and operator of Louise’s Beauty Shop.
Survivors include a son, Clyde T. Brown of Lawndale; two brothers, Dean Tallent of Vale, and Max Tallent of St. John’s Island, S.C.; two sisters, Edith Stevens of Archdale, and Pansy A. Ritchie of Crouse; two grandchildren, Brent Brown and Nikki Snead; and one great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to Bess Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 6073 Flay Rd., Cherryville, N.C. 28021.

Dorothy Auton
MAIDEN - Dorothy Beal Auton, 81, of East Maiden, died July 13, 2002. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel at Burke Mortuary. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
Born in Lincoln County, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Howard Auton of Maiden, and Reid Auton of Lincolnton; four daughters, Jean Black of Catawba, Vata Leonhardt and Reba Auton, both of Lincolnton, and Sue Kelly of Kings Mountain; two brothers, Jerry Beal and Rosce Beal, both of Lincolnton; two sisters, Helen Helms of Lincolnton, and Nancy Jarrett of Newton; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
