Burial will follow in the Mary’s Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 until 3:45 p.m. today prior to the service.
Born in Gaston County, she was a textile employee.
Survivors include four-step sons, Robert Digh of Raleigh, John Digh of Lincolnton, Kenneth Smith of Kings Mountain and Milfred Smith of California; three step-daughters, Pernell Ross of Aiken, SC, Mae Ledbetter and Nolean Davis both of Lincolnton; one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

DALLAS — Jerry “Smoke” Wade Gordon, 67, of Dallas, died July 9, 2003. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Long Shoals Wesleyan Church, where he was a member. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 tonight at McLean Funeral Home.
Born in Gaston County, he was a U.S. Army veteran, member of Masonic Lodge #704, owner of SMP, Inc. and Golf Paws.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Martin Gordon, one son, Martin Gordon of Crouse; two daughters, Leslie Webb and Laura Purvis of Dallas; two brothers, Jim Gordon of Hilton Head and Gene Gordon of Belmont and four grandchildren, Anna Webb, Russell Purvis, Nolan Purvis and Jesse Webb.

Born in Catawba County, she was a retired nurse from Lincoln Medical Center and a member of First United Methodist Church.

Born in Cherokee County, he was a machinist for 26 years at Star Linear Systems of Charlotte.

Born in Cleveland County, he was a manager at AMVETS Post 42 and was an insurance agent, an auto salesman and a member of Zoar Baptist Church.
