CHARLOTTE — Mabel Jones Lingerfelt, 89, of Dale Avenue, died July 22, 2003. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Boger City Baptist Church. Burial will follow n Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Born in Lincoln County, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Herbert Lingerfelt of Charlotte and three grandchildren, Brandon Lingerfelt, Holly Lingerfelt and Tyson Lingerfelt.

GASTONIA — Carl Lee Garrison, 43, of 1809 Hemlock Avenue, died July 19, 2003. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cone Memorial Chapel of Carpenter’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
Born in Gastonia, he was a mechanic by trade.
Survivors include his father, Bobby Bates of Gastonia; mother and step-father, Dorothy Lowery and Doug Warlick of Gastonia; one daughter, Ashley Garrison of High Shoals; grandmother, Violet Lowery of Gastonia; three brothers, James Murks of High Point and William Murks and Bobby Murks both of Gastonia; two step-brothers, Dwayne Hall and Robert Hall both of Gastonia and one half-sister, Starlene Murks of Gastonia.

Born in Cleveland County, she was a homemaker and formerly worked at Carolina Freight Carriers, First Baptist Church and as a sales person with Belk.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Patterson; parents, Ralph and Kimmie Houser Leatherman of Lincolnton; two sons, David Patterson of Apex and Doug Patterson of Cherryville; three grandchildren, Gary Patterson, Christopher Patterson and Amanda Patterson; three brothers, Elwyn Leatherman, Boyce Leatherman and Tommy Leatherman all of Lincolnton and one sister, Donna Cooke of Lincolnton.

NEWARK, NJ — Florence E. Foster, 67, of Newark, died July 18, 2003. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday at Perry Funeral Home. Interment will followed at the Fairmount Crematory.

GASTONIA — Addie Lou Taylor Friday, 68, of 1524 Fern Forest Drive, died July 23, 2003. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel at Ebony & White’s Funeral Home. Born in Lincoln County, she was a school teacher in both Lincoln County and Gaston County, taught adult education at Gaston College and was a member of Michael’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Friday Sr. of the home; two sons, Marvin Friday and Brando Friday both of Atlanta, Ga; three daughters, Stacey Friday and Thesis Friday both of Gastonia and Leesa George of Siler City; two brothers, Vivian Taylor Jr. of Jamestown, NY and Robert Taylor of Gastonia; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Born in Cleveland County, he was a retired utility worker at Fiber Industries, a member of Lawndale American Legion Post 302 and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Hamrick Perry of the home; one daughter, Kaye Dobbins of Cornelius; one granddaughter, Melinda Hinson; one grandson, Billy Dobbins; two great-grandchildren and one brother, William Perry Jr.

Born in Lincoln County, she was a retired bookkeeper with Southeastern Construction Company.
