She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Glenn Harris.

Born Nov. 11, 1940, in Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Cornelius R. and Roxie Carroll Watson.
A member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Boone, she was a housekeeper with Western Piedmont Community College and was formerly employed by Appalachain State University.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Eller; two sons, Michael George Eller of Hickory and Baxter Lee Eller of Swannanoa; four brothers, Talmage Watson and Teddy Watson of Ashe County, C.R. Watson of Rutherford College and Thomas Watson of Happy Valley; four sisters, Ella Lee Stallman of Boomer, Shirley Phillips of Deep Gap, Sue Earp of Lenoir and Martha Gantt of Bethlehem; and two grandchildren.

A member of Elk Shoals ARP Church, she retired from Ridgeway Chemicals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Clayton “Jack” Payne; two sons, Glenn Payne and James Alfred Payne; two brothers, Floyd “Hop” Sigmon and George Sigmon; two sisters, Mildred Sigmon and Tressie Pope; a grandson, Terry Lynn Herman; and a stepson, Willis H. Payne.

Born Dec. 23, 1919, in Wilkes County, he was a son of the late Robert L. and Nancy Mayberry Privette.
A member of New Perth ARP Church in Troutman and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2031, he was a former member of the Moose Lodge. A retired carpenter from Sherrill Lumber Company with 43 years of service, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and served in the Asian Theatre.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Madge Elliott Privette; three brothers, Glenn Privette, Espy Privette and Guy Privette; and four sisters, Alice Lytton, Hessie Woodruff, Lener Faircloth and Mamie Waugh.
Survivors include his wife, Jeraldine J. A charter member of Concord United Methodist Church in Catawba, he retired as a foreman from Sherrill Machinery Co. and was a former employee of Superior Yarns. He was a member of Campbell Lodge No. 374 A.F. and A.M. of Troutman and Lakewood Golf Club.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mott Gilleland and Kelton Gilleland; and three sisters, Rose Gryder, Ruby Fisher and Gertrude Gilleland.

Born June 11, 1933, in Caldwell County, he was a son of Irene Spencer Conway Estep of Lenoir and the late John Jefferson Conway.
A member of First Baptist Church of Lenoir, he was a former deacon and Sunday school teacher. A graduate of North Carolina State University, he was a member of the Wolf Pack Club, former chairman of the Burke County School Board, former instructor at Western Piedmont Community College and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He retired as president and co-owner of Morganton Chair Company. He also participated in the Community in Schools program in Caldwell County and was a member of the Lenoir Planning Board.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Janet Frye Conway; a son and daughter-in-law, Todd H. and Kathryn Perdue of Lenoir; four daughters and sons-in-law, Betsy and Barry Blatz, Maria and Chad Clark and Martha and Jay Clifton of Morganton, and Jana and Steve Hoyle of Asheboro; a brother, Eldon Estep of Portland, Ore.; and six grandchildren, John Everett Clark, Lindsey Blaire Smith, Patrick James Smith, and Tanner Paige Clifton of Morganton, and Benjamin Frye Perdue and Sarah Warren Perdue of Lenoir.

LENOIR - Mary Jane Hartley, 82, of Powell Road, died Aug. 23, 2001, at Quality Care Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 15, 1918, in Caldwell County, she was a daughter of the late Ivey and Mollie Morrow Kincaid.
She attended Zack's Fork Baptist Church, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hartley; four brothers, Henry Kincaid, Johnny Kincaid, Clyde Kincaid and Bill Kincaid; and three sisters, Katie Simcho, Annie Ruff and Nancy Hatley.
A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Wayne Borders at 2 p.m. Saturday in Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will be at the residence at other times.

LILLIE O. McNEELY
MORGANTON - Lillie Oxford McNeely, 89, of Grace Ridge, formerly of Drexel, died Aug. 22, 2001, at Grace Hospital.
Born May 29, 1912, in Edgemont, she was a daughter of the late Adam B. and Lottie McGee Oxford Jr.
A member of First United Methodist Church in Morganton, she was a teacher for the former School for Retarded Children in Drexel. A substitute teacher with the Burke County Public Schools, she was the owner and operator of the Lily Flower Shop in Drexel and was active in civic and social organizations in Drexel and Burke County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ballew McNeely.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ralph D. and Marie McNeely of Huntsville, Ala., and Dr. Robert Lewis McNeely of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted by the Rev. Bob Roach at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Forest Hill Cemetery.

ALEXANDER F. NEELY III
MORGANTON - Alexander Franklin “Frank” Neely III, 59, of Dogwood Vista in Lenoir, died Aug. 22, 2001, at his residence.
Born July 4, 1942, in Swain County, he was a son of the late Alexander F. and Lillian Stanley Neely Jr.
He was a member of Mull's Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Miller of Lenoir and Franki Bunce of Oklahoma; two sisters, Shirley Lyttle of Joplin, Mo., and Karen Turner of Fairland, Okla.; two half sisters, Gail Neely and Rosalee Lile; three grandchildren, Matthew Miller, Alicia Guffey and Allison Guffey; and his former wife, Katie Neely of Morganton.
A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Alan Barlowe at 1 p.m. Saturday at his church.
The family will remain at the church after the service and will be at the residence of Katie Neely, 5076 Burkemont Road, at other times.
