  MIDDLESEX -- John Rotchie Wilder, 80, of 10381 Burgess Road died Thursday at

Spring Hope.
  Wilder was a World War II veteran and a member of Samaria Baptist Church.

Middlesex; two sons, Dr.  John Terry Wilder of Burlington, Ky., and William  
"Bill" Finch Wilder of Middlesex; two sisters, Joyce Whitley and Dot Strickland,

Bailey City Cemetery.
  She was a member of White Oak Free Will Baptist Church.
  She is survived by a daughter, Louise Bunn of Elm City; two sons Bobby and  
Wayne Howell, both of Rocky Mount; two sisters, Irene Manning of Bailey and  
Effie Boykin of Highland Springs, Va.; two brothers, Ollie Manning of Rocky  
Mount and Wilbert Manning of Simpsonville, S.C.; six grandchildren; and six  
great-grandchildren.

  Barnes, who once lived in Wilson, was a member of First Christian Church.

  Luetta Orzia Coley, 76, died Wednesday at Wilson Medical Center.

  She is survived by four sisters; Elvie Mae Bradberry of Kenly, Essie Mae Bunn

niece, Betty Graham, who was her guardian.

  Talmadge was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.

years. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army in the Pacific  
Conflict.

Wilson; a son, Lloyd A. Shingleton Jr. of Asheville; two brothers, Dr. William

Memorial Hospital, Kinston. The funeral will be conducted by Elder Herman Lucas  
at 1 p.m. Friday at L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, Lane  
Street Extension. Burial will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden.
  She was a member of Faith Tabernacle United Holy Church of Stantonsburg where  
she served as mother of the church.
  Surviving are six daughters, Louise Langston and Gertrude Bullock, both of  
Wilson, Rosetta Taylor of Saratoga, Dorothy Jean Langston of District Heights,  
Md., Ethel G. Edwards of East Orange, N.J., and Virgie Rugh Sullivan of Capitol  
Heights, Md.; one son, Roscoe Langston of Wilson; 27 grandchildren; 47 great-
grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-great-
grandchildren.
  The body may be viewed at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 726 S. Tarboro St., today  
from 3-9 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church Friday from noon-1  
p.m. for a wake and at other times at 101 E. Vance St., where they will assemble  
one hour before the wake.

  Curtis Lee Atkinson Jr., 52, of 1847 Butterfield Lane died Monday at Wilson

p.m. Saturday at Brown Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 1507 Hadley St. Burial  
will follow in Hamilton Burial Garden.
  Surviving are his wife, Helen Barnes Atkinson of Wilson; three daughters,  
Wanda Applewhite, Christina Fleming and Ashlee Reid, all of Wilson; one son,  
Ronald Atkinson of Wilson; one stepdaughter, Benita Atkinson of Wilson; five  
sisters, the Rev. Linda Artis, Peggy Sharpe and Sandy Ellis, all of Wilson, Ruth  
Young of Elm City and Mable Applewhite of Saratoga; six brothers, Timothy  
Atkinson, Charles Best, Randy Atkinson and Donnie Atkinson, all of Wilson, John  
Henry Atkinson of Stantonsburg and the Rev. Norman Atkinson of Beltsville, Md.;  
his grandmother, Calitha Johnson of Macclesfield; and seven grandchildren.

  Surviving are eight daughters, Ida Taylor , Dorothy Taylor, Betty Taylor,

Catherine Taylor and Jeanette Taylor, all of Wilson; five sons, Bobby Taylor,  
James Taylor, Joseph Taylor, Jimmy Taylor and Tony Taylor, all of Wilson; four

Williams; three brothers, Leroy Williams, Thomas Williams and William Williams;  
42 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Andrew Briggs, Lorenzo Briggs, Bruce Briggs, Danny Briggs and Junior Briggs all  
of Wilson; five sisters, Thelma Fleming of Stantonsburg, Dorothy Briggs, Mary  
Melton, Emma Parker and Judy Langston all of Wilson.

  RALEIGH -- Louise Wright Dickinson Piane, 93, formerly of Wilson, died Thursday  
at Springmoor Retirement Center in Raleigh.
  Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Maplewood Cemetery.
  She is survived by three sisters, Eliza Ramsey of Buffalo Grove, Ill., Alice  
Van Brunt and Nellie-Bond Dickinson, both of Tallahassee, Fla.

  FREMONT- David Reason Sr., 54, died Thursday at his home.

  He is survived by his wife, Faye Pridgen Reason; a son, David Reason Jr. of  
Fremont, three brothers, J.W. Reason of Wilson, John Allen Reason Jr. of  
Virginia, and Allen Reason of South Carolina; three half-brothers and a half-
sister.

  BURLINGTON- Ralph Compton, 82, died Thursday at his home.

Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church will preside at the service.
  He is survived by five daughters, including Lillie Mae Bennett of Black Creek;  
four sons; two sisters; and two brothers.

p.m. Saturday, and other times at 2435 Carolina Road, Burlington.
