Katherine Day Long, 92, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016. Mother was a homemaker her whole life. She was always involved in her church, Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church, whenever the doors were open. She served there on numerous committees, taught Sunday School for over 60 years and sang in the choir until she thought the choir needed younger members. She loved to cook and keep clean house. She was also a Gideons Auxiliary member for many years and enjoyed the jail ministry. She was also involved in the Junior Order of Roxboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Alfred Long.
Mrs. Long is survived by four children, Charles Andrew Long and wife Vicki, of Durham, Kathy Long Overacre, of Roxboro, Larry L. Long and Lori Ann Long Pulliam and husband Leslie, all of Timberlake; one sister, Lois Shanko; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral service will be held 2 PM Friday, January 8, 2016, at Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Gerald Thomas. Burial will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30-8:30 PM Thursday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home.

Kenneth David Robinson

Kenneth David Robinson, 62, of 620 County Line Rd., Timberlake, died Monday, September 14, 2015. Born in Durham County, Mr. Robinson was the son of the late Alec and Oveida Cash Robinson. Mr. Robinson worked over 25 years at Carden's Body Shop and was very active in the Rougemont community. He was a member of Rougemont United Methodist Church for over 40 years.
Mr. Robinson is survived by three sons, Scott Russell and wife Kendra, of York, SC, Todd Robinson and wife Kathy, of Durham and Derek Robinson and wife Michelle, of Asheville; one brother, Tony Robinson and wife Anita, of Rougemont; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Russell, Nolan Robinson, Emily Robinson and Alex Robinson.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Friday, September 18, 2015, at Rougemont United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ryan Ford. Burial will follow at New Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-2 PM, Friday at the church and at other times at the home of Tony and Anita Robinson, 9314 Sawyer Rd., Rougemont, NC, 27572.

Margie Elaine Evans Copper

Margie Elaine Evans Copper age 67 of Providence Road died Monday, September 14, 2015 at her home. She was born in Person County to the late Samuel Monzell Evans and Daisy Allen Evans. She was a member of Theresa Baptist Church. She did volunteer work at the church and the Canterbury House . Mrs. Copper was a real estate agent and a receptionist at the Timberland Motel & the Innkeeper both located in Roxboro.
She is survived by her sister, Faye Evans Carver of Roxboro.
The family will receive friends 6 PM to 7:30 PM Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Theresa Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, September 17, 2015 also at Theresa Baptist Church with Rev. Herbert Brown officiating. Burial will be in Person Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randall Carver, Shaun Carver, Brandon Carver, Bruce Carver, Travis Carver, and Steve Butts.

Fannie Christine Shotwell Solomon

Fannie Christine Shotwell Solomon, 81, of 835 Poindexter Rd., Hurdle Mills, died Sunday, September 13, 2015. Born in Person County, Mrs. Solomon was the daughter of the late Robert and Maude Tuck Shotwell, wife of the late Floyd Daniel Solomon and mother of the late Tommy Solomon. Mrs. Solomon was a homemaker and the last surving charter member of Bible Baptist Tabernacle where she was a faithful member for 28 years where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.
Mrs. Solomon is survived by her fiance, R.C. Scott; five children, Rev. Danny Solomon and wife Angela, Larry Solomon, Tina Solomon Reaves and Ted Solomon, all of Hurdle Mills and Sharon Crabtree and husband Mitch, of Timberlake; one sister, Mille Ree Ford, of High Point; seven grandchilren, Patrick Solomon, Angie S. Carroll, Timothy Solomon, Miranda Gray, Jeremiah Solomon, Colby Solomon and Micah Crabtree; nine great-grandchildren, Cassidy Solomon, Cameron Solomon, Megan Carroll, Jesse Carroll, Noah Solomon, Jacob Solomon, Caleb Hutchins, Kaitlyn Gray, and Destiny Gray; one great-great-grandchild, Luke Worley; one step-grandchild, Lucas Crabtree; two step-great-grandchildren, Alyssa Crabtree and Savannah Crabtree.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Danny Solomon, the Pastor Josh Mickle, and the Preacher Tim West. Burial will follow in the Bible Baptist Tabernacle Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30-8 PM Tuesday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Brenda Strickland Gentry

Brenda Strickland Gentry, 66, of 6619 Moore's Mill Rd., Rougemont, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016. Born in Jacksonville, FL, Mrs. Gentry was the daughter of the late Harold and Mary Griffin Strickland and mother of the late Sherry Courson and Cynthia Courson.
Mrs. Gentry is survived by her husband, William David Gentry III; five children, Michael Courson, of Roxboro, Tina Luxton, of Burlington, Michelle Yarboro, William David Gentry IV and Tonya Long, all of Roxboro; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 11AM, Saturday at Person Memorial Cemetery by the Dr. M. David Chambers. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Thursday and 6-8 PM Friday at her residence.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Shirley Knowlen Guzman

Shirley Knowlen Guzman, 85, of 44 Pheasant Way, Roxboro, died on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. She was born in Aroostook County, Maine, to the late Fred Knowlen and Alta Moore Knowlen. Mrs. Guzman is preceded in death by her daughter, Joanne Marie Maley and one brother, Rudell Knowlen. She loved her family and her passion was to make quilts for her family. She attended Somerset Baptist Church.
Mrs. Guzman is survived by her husband, Andrew Paul Guzman, of the home; five children: Sandra Jean Rogers of Roxboro, Nancy Mae "Grace" Maclone of Falmouth, MA, Robert Earl Bridges of Hillsborough, Donna Lee Kera of Leominster, MA, and Kelly Anne LeBeau of Ellenton, FL; one brother, Royce Knowlen of Bloomfield, CT; one sister, Anne Rogers of Westborough, MA; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 7:30-9:00 PM Friday, March 11, 2016 at Somerset Baptist Church and other times at the home.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Somerset Baptist Church by the Rev. Thomas Gearhart. Burial will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Richard Maclone, Daniel Maclone, Brad Kera, John LaRochelle, Anthony Tucker, and Brad Morgan.
