Rosie Loftis Martin, 86, of 125 Lonesome Oak Drive died Wednesday, September 9, 2015. She was born in Caswell County to the late Henry and Martha Ford Loftis. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Martin; two sons, David Martin and "Chicken" George Martin; and one daughter, Shirley Jean Martin. She was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church, where she will be buried alongside her husband, sons, and daughter.
Surviving are six children, Tommy Martin and wife Mary, Roy Martin and wife Diane, Charlie Martin and wife Shirley, Tony Martin and wife Loretta, Mary Bell Painter and husband Paul, and Betty M. Williamson, all of Roxboro; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Frankie Reaves. Visitation will be held Friday, September 11, 2015 from 6:00-7:30 PM at Brooks and White Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Cameron Wilson, Michael Pleasant, Ronnie Smith, Carl Painter, David Painter, C.J. Painter, T.J. Long, Howard Martin, and Daniel Martin.

Frankie Burch Long

Frankie Burch Long, of 1806 Whitt Town Road, died Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Person Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Long was born in Person County to the late James Thomas Burch and Lessie Vaughn Wrenn. She is preceded in death by her husband, of over 57 years, Harold Dee Long and son, Harold Thomas Long. Mrs. Long graduated from Helena High School with the class of 1959. She and Harold both loved to square dance with their square dance club. Mrs. Long was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sister, Virginia Barbour, of Roxboro; cousin, Brenda Blalock, of Caldwell; several cousins and extended family; faithful companion, Lee-Lee.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the Brooks & White Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Donald Daniel. Burial will follow in the Burch Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Troy Blalock, Clay Champion, Roger Burch, Jimmy Holeman, Wallace Hutchins, Chuck Burch. Honorary pallbearers will be J.W. Chambers, Michael Bridges, Josh Carver, and Adam Oakley.

Nola Lynn Bentley

Nola Lynn Bentley, 33, died Monday, February 8, 2016. She was born in Essex County, New York to James Bentley, Sr. and Adeline Tefoe Bentley, who survive. Ms. Bentley was a homemaker and a loving mother. She was a member of New Life Independent Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William Tefoe and June Burdick Tefoe; and paternal grandfather, Robert Bentley.
Surviving in addition to her parents, are her life partner, Richard Stockman, of the home; five children, Victoria Stockman, Michael Stockman, Jacob Stockman, Tyler Stockman, and Nolan Stockman, all of the home; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Burdick Bentley, of Hoosic Falls, NY; two brothers, Robert Tefoe, of Witherbee, NY and James Bentley, Jr. (Laurie), of Timberlake; three sisters, Barbara Jones (Steve), of Petersburg, NY, Lisa Devine (J.T.), of Hoosic Falk, NY, and Betsy Bentley (Fran Mason), of Petersburg, NY; and maternal aunt, Mary Tefoe, of Moriah, NY.
Memorial services will be held 6:30 PM Thursday, February 11, 2016 at New Life Independent Baptist Church by Pastor Mike Whitt. The family will receive friends following the service.

Tony Nelson Seamster

Tony Nelson Seamster, 56, of 862 CaVel Chub Lake Rd., Roxboro, died Thursday, January 21, 2016. Born in Person County, Mr. Seamster was the son of the late Jack Donald Seamster and Minnie Duncan Seamster, who survives. Mr. Seamster worked for US Flue Cured Tobacco and was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Seamster is survived by his daughters, Tara Dawn Seamster and Tessa LeAnn Seamster, both of Roxboro; one brother, Donnie Seamster, of Roxboro; one granddaughter, Lexie Dawn Foster; and his former wife, Teresa Seamster, Roxboro.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, January 28, 2016, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Herbert Brown. Visitation will be held 1-2 PM Thursday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home prior to the service and at other times at the home.

Patsy Ann Knott

Patsy Ann Knott age 74 of Roxboro died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Duke Regional Hospital. She was a member of Longhurst Methodist Church. Patsy was daughter of the late George Cal and Nannie Mae Walker Knott. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Archie Knott and her sister, Josie K. Clayton.
Surviving are her brother, Harold Thomas (Buster) Knott of Roxboro and her sister, Betty Jean K. Pemberton of Durham.
The funeral will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 4, 2016 at Brooks and White Chapel with the Rev. Norma Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Person Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1 PM Friday, March 4, 2016 at Brooks and White Funeral Home and other times at the home (127 Puryear Street, Roxboro).
Pallbearers will be T.C. Whitfield, Paul Shields, Dustin Lee, Clifton Lee, and Donald Floyd Bowes.

Carolyn Buchanan Talbert

Carolyn Buchanan Talbert 61 of Durham died at her home Saturday, February 27, 2016. Carolyn loved giving to others and making others happy. That spirit of true and pure generosity is her legacy.
Surviving are her parents, William Wayne Buchanan and Leona Hall Buchanan of Roxboro, her husband, Daniel Morton Talbert, two sons, Daniel Morton Talbert, Jr. and wife, Kayley Talbert and William Scott Talbert, her sister, Deborah Buchanan Nelms and husband, Buddy, one grandson, Brennan Daniel Talbert; her father-in law and mother-in-law, Edgar D. and Ernestine M. Talbert, her brother-in law and her sisters-in-law, Eddie and Terri Talbert, Gayl Talbert and Michelle Frey, and many loving nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Long Memorial United Methodist Church with the visitation following the service.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jamie Nelms, Chris Covington, Jeff Fitzgerald, David Whitt, Jimmy Dallas, Gordon Carver, Jr., Tyler Mooneyham, Steve Lehrer, Rick Allen, and Darrell Seamons.
