Mary Frances Thomas Davis, 66 of 2241 Leasburg Road, died Saturday evening, August 29, 2015 at Person Memorial Hospital. Born in Person County daughter of the late Mac Getho Thomas & Jessie Louise Walker Thomas, in addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Larry J. Davis. Mrs. Davis retired from Eaton Corporation, she loved to watch her children play ball and watch her husband umpire. She was a member of Brooksdale United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her two sons, Don Davis & wife Lisa and Tommy Davis both of Leasburg; her two sisters Cindy McAbee of Durham and Denise Gilliland of Roxboro, her four grandchildren Melissa Long & husband Preston, Jordann Davis, Justice Davis and Lillie Mac Davis; her two great-grandchildren Kayla Long and Kayden Long.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, August 31, 2015 at New Brook United Methodist Church by the Rev. Tyler Daniel. Interment will follow in Ebenezer Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the church prior to the service and other times at the home of her sister Denise Gilliland 104 Gregory Street Roxboro, NC 27573
Pallbearers will be Brent Davis, Phillip Davis, Caleb Gilliland, Nathan Gilliland, Chris McAbee & Jeremy Clayton.
Danny Lee Anderson

Died: 07/13/2015 and resided in Prospect Hill, NC
Danny Lee Anderson, 63, of Prospect Hill, died at his home on July 13, 2015. Born in Caswell County, he was the son of the late Larry and Mary Anderson. He was preceded in death by his brothers Jimmy and Joey and his sister Margery.
Surviving are his wife, Rosmery Anderson; his sons, Bryan Anderson and D.L. Anderson and his step-sons Daniel Escobar and Eduardo Escobar; one brother, Ted Anderson and wife Grace; three sisters, Carol Pleasant and husband W.S., Mary Grace Reitzel and husband Jerry and Brenda Powell and husband Jim.
A private funeral service will be held.

Elizabeth Marie Walker Bowes

Elizabeth Walker Bowes, 70, of 70 Burlington Hall Road died Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Mrs. Bowes was born in Person County to the late Charlie Buck and Esther Solomon Walker. She was also preceded in death by one son, William "Buck" Solomon; two sisters, Patricia Hicks and Melinda Hazel; and one brother, H.C. Walker. Mrs. Bowes was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church.
Surviving is her husband, of 33 years, Joel Bowes; six children, Lisa Limeberry, Angela Gantt, Rachel McKenzie, Kenneth McKenzie, Neal Bowes, and Tina Bowes; four brothers, Everett Walker, William Walker, James Walker, and Wayne Walker; two sisters, Virginia Shull and Pam Overby; twenty-three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, July 10, 2015 at Ephesus Baptist Church by Dr. Larry Cain. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of her sister, 260 Hassel Clayton Road.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Green, Michael Green, Neal Bowes, Brad Solomon, Jeremy Solomon, Michael Thaxton, Haywood Thaxton, Markus Bowes, and Nicholas Lawson.

Grover "G.C." Cleveland Buchanan

Grover Cleveland "Junior" Buchanan, Jr., age 97, of Roxboro, died Friday, August 28, 2015 at Person Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 30, 1917 to the late Grover C. Buchanan, Sr. and Gertie Mae Young Buchanan. Mr. Buchanan is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Carrie Lee Martin Buchanan; one son, Grover Cleveland "Cleve" Buchanan, III; one grandson, Greg Buchanan; a sister, Bessie Dickerson and seven brothers: Claude, John, Rufus, Robert, Hampton, Spurgeon, and Baxter. He retired from Collins & Aikman after forty-nine and a half years. Mr. Buchanan was a member of Profit Investment Club & Person Golden Club. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church where he served in many positions.
Surviving are his daughters, Maxine Brooks of Timberlake; Saundra B. Murphy & husband Lawrence, of Roxboro; one brother, Wayne Buchanan, of Roxboro; daughter-in-law, Donna Buchanan of Raleigh; four grandchildren: Janelle Miller, Adam Buchanan, Mark Brooks, and Wayne Brooks; five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM Sunday, August 30, 2015 at the Brooks & White Chapel.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Dion Loving & Rev. Bobby Buchanan. Interment will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Merritt Buchanan, Lawrence Buchanan, Mark Brooks, Billy Martin, Chuck Pixley, Grady Phelps & Mark Martin.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Sam Parham, Sherman Wilson, Prince Graves and The Wade Tingen Class.

Nora Lee Blalock Holt

Nora Lee Blalock Holt, 73, of 3817 Apt. L Cotswold Ave., Greensboro, died Sunday, August 23, 2015. Born in Person County, Mrs. Holt was the daughter of the late Luther Carl and Virgie Mae Vaughan Blalock. Mrs. Holt worked at the Duke University Hospital pharmacy and later worked over 30 years at the Greensboro Country Club. She was an avid Duke fan and a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. Mrs. Holt was preceded in death by three siblings, Mary Lou Dickey, William Thomas Blalock and Melvin Carl Blalock.
Mrs. Holt is survived by three children, Felton Wayne Jacobs and wife Wendy, of Youngsville, Lesa Gail Toomes, of Burlington and Rhonda Carol Ruggiero, of Greensboro; two brothers, Johnnie Lee Blalock and wife Margie, of Butner and Tony Ray Blalock and wife Kathy, of Timberlake; two sisters, Rosa Mae Vaughan of Roxboro and Ella Sloan and husband Greg, of Raleigh; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, August 29, 2015, at Brooks & White Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mt. Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-2 PM Saturday at the Brooks & White Chapel prior to the service.
Lois Stephens Clayton

Lois Stephens Clayton, 88, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015. She was born in Caswell County to the late Robert and Nina Hicks Stephens. Mrs. Clayton was a member of Roxboro Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Coolidge Clayton; one daughter, Patricia C. Oakley; four brothers, Herman Stephens, Earl Stephens, Curtis Stephens, and Ron Stephens; and four sisters, Emma Stephens, Pauline S. Hunley, Irene S. Whitfield, and Virginia S. Williams.
Surviving is one son, C. Kent Clayton, of Roxboro; two brothers, C.J. Stephens, of Rougemont and Thomas Stephens and wife Vera, of Mebane; one sister, Dale Wooten, of Cary; and two grandsons, Chad C. Oakley, of Durham and Kyle S. Oakley, of Boone.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 21, 2015 at Brooks and White Chapel by Dr. DuPre Sanders. Burial will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00-7:30 PM Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Brooks and White Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Harris, Jerry Stephens, Van Stephens, Kevin Stephens, Larry Clayton, and Richard O'Briant. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Stephens, Brent Stephens, Barry Stephens, and Michael Stephens.
