Mildred Wade Henderson

Mildred Wade Henderson, age 94, formerly of Leasburg, died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Roxboro Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Caswell County, she was the daughter of the late James Albert and Josephine Pointer Wade. Mrs. Henderson is preceded in death by her late husband, George Henderson. She was a member of Leasburg United Methodist Church. Mrs. Henderson was a former trustee of Piedmont Community College, former registrar of Leasburg Township, and both she and her late husband, George Henderson took care of the Leasburg Community Cemetery for years.
Surviving are her two children: Mary "Kay" Katherine Price and husband Jessie, of Holly Springs, and George Gunn Henderson Jr. and wife Kim, of Leasburg; one grandson, Jamie Henderson and wife Julie, of Roxboro.
Visitation will be held 7:00-8:30 PM Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Brooks & White Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 3, 2015 at Leasburg United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ray Pearce. Burial will follow in the Leasburg Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sonny Duncan, Bill Turner, Jordon Hall, Johnny Hall, Bobby Fulcher, Jerry Powell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Fred Cox, Jr., Dennis Yeatts, Jerry Yeatts, Mickey Yeatts, Reggie Wade, Timothy Avants, Barry Pleasants, and Ricky Walker.

Malcolm "Mickey" David Gentry

Died: 07/01/2015 and resided in Roxboro, NC
Malcolm "Mickey" David Gentry, age 72, died Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Duke Regional Hospital. Born in Person County, he was the son of the late Claude "Dick" Gentry and Mable Mangum Gentry Latta. Mr. Gentry retired from Merita Bread Company, owned and operated Mickey's Store, and Mickey's Bar-B-Que. He loved his time with his family and friends. Also, he loved fishing, riding anywhere, watching sports, and watching old westerns on the television. Mr. Gentry was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving is his wife of fifty-two years, Laurie Wesbrook Gentry, of the home; three children: Tonya Gentry Hood, and husband Jimmy, of Red Oak, NC, Robin Gentry Knott, and husband Trent, of Timberlake, Scott Gentry, and wife Wendy, of Timberlake; four siblings: Rickey Gentry, and wife Linda, of Roxboro, Marilyn Tuck (Richard Rackley), of Roxboro, Carolyn Chambers, and husband C. W., of Hurdle Mills, and Margie Gentry, of Roxboro; seven grandchildren: Brett Wrenn, Justin Hawley, Kyle Wrenn, Kaleb Wrenn, Kaitlyn Hawley, Olivia Gentry, and Abby Gentry; two step-grandchildren: Olivia Knott and Jacob Knott; great-grandchild, Addison Wrenn; a host of nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Clack, Randy Gravitte, and Louis Wrenn.
Memorial Service will be held 4:00 PM Friday, July 3, 2015 at the Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Herbert Brown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (3:00-4:00 PM).
Memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.

William Franklin "Billy" Parker, 55, of 305 Christy's Way, Roxboro, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Born in Harnett County, son of the late Robert Carlton Parker, Sr.
Surviving is his mother, Helen Keene Parker, of Roxboro; his wife Vanessa Tillman Parker, of the home; three children: Frankie Parker and wife Tasha, of Timberlake, Krystle P. Pleasant and husband Dwayne, of Hurdle Mills, and Jennifer Parker and fiancé David Pergerson, of Roxboro; two brothers: Robert Parker and wife Carolyn, of Roxboro, and John Parker and wife Bobbie, of Milton; special sister-in-law, Penny T. Duncan, of South Boston, VA; two pets: Smoke & Katt; grandchildren: Brian Parker, Kyle Parker, Katie Parker, Will Parker, Evan Parker, and Brinley Pergerson.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, June 19, 2015 at Brooks & White Funeral Home. The family will have a private burial.

Brodie Knette Brown

Brodie Knette Brown, 83, of 9010 NC HWY 157, Rougemont, died Monday, June 15, 2015. Born in Orange County, Mr. Brown was the son of the late Lester Brown and Annie Cole Brown. He is preceded in death by his siblings: Ernest Brown, Griffin Brown, Erskin Brown, Gattis Brown, Mabeline Ray, and Lorene Brown. Mr. Brown was the owner and operator of Brown's Service Station for fifty years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Five Forks Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife of fifty-seven years, Carrie Lee Clayton Brown, of the home; two sons: Danny Brown & wife Darlene, of Roxboro and Dale Brown & wife Angela, of Hurdle Mills; one brother: Billy Brown & wife Patricia, of Rougemont; two sisters: Mozelle B. Cagle, of Rougemont and Kathleen Daniels, of Hillsborough; fourteen grandchildren: Josh Brown, Danielle Brown, Leah Dickens & husband Christian, Julie Brown, Caleb Brown, Kristen Faught & husband Jamison, Austin Brown & wife Jessica, Landon Brown & wife Kirstyn, Ashlyn Brown, Cameron Brown, Arian Brown, Gracen Brown, Briannan Brown, and Adalyn Brown; two great-grandchildren: Addison Dickens and Mayvis Brown.
Visitation will be 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Brooks & White Funeral Home and the family will also receive friends at the home.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 19, 2015 at Five Forks Baptist Church by the Rev. Jack Lemons and Grandson Austin Brown. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Paul Richmond Wilde

Paul Richmond Wilde, 79, of 172 Country Club Road died Monday, June 1, 2015. He was born in Hartford, CT to the late Harrie and Helen Evans Wilde. Mr. Wilde served in the Navy where he had the opportunity to travel to Antarctica twice with his career and later retired as a Chef. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving is one son, Patrick Wilde, of Providence, RI; one brother, William "Bill" Wilde and wife Caroline, of Roxboro; two sisters, Jean W. Gunn, of Charlotte and Harriett W. Emrich, of Polkton; a special niece Diane Dorey and husband Mel; and the beloved Molly.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Brooks and White Chapel by the Rev. Tim Bowes. Visitation will be held 2:00-3:00 PM, one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Person Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Billy Gunn, Tommy Emrich, Chris Carver, Robbie Carver, Steven Turner, Jason Hall, and Nathan Hall.

Alfred Richard Long

Alfred Richard Long, 76, of 400 Badger Circle, died Sunday, May 24, 2015. Born in Person County, Mr. Long was the son of the late Thaddeus and Margaret Russell Long. Mr. Long retired from Flowers Baking Company and later Bullock's Lumber Company. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church having served previously as a deacon and Sunday School superintendent. He served in the US Army National Guard for six years.
Mr. Long is survived by his wife Gayle Walker Long; two daughters and their husbands, Kimberly Long and Joe Mitchell, of Roxboro and Teresa Long and John Hall, of Bahama; one sister, Sandra Lunsford, of Roxboro; three grandchildren, Victoria Parham, Bryan Parham and Carter Hall.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Antioch Baptist Church by the Rev. James C. Shelley. Burial will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-2 PM Wednesday at Antioch Baptist Church prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Kent Cash, Robert O'Briant, Rick LaGrone, Ronald Oakley, Pete Horne, and Randy Cash. Honorary pallbearers will be current and former deacons of Antioch Baptist Church.
