Katie Owen Briggs Davis age 90 formerly of Willow Oak Drive died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at the Roxboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She was wife of the late Raymond Davis. Katie was daughter of the late Jim Henry and Nannie Bett Harris Briggs and preceded in death by her brothers and sisters. Mrs. Davis was retired from Four Acre Warehouse. She was a member of the Church of God Church.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Brooks & White Chapel with the Rev. Barbara Whitlow officiating. Private burial will be held at Oak Grove United Methodist Church at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family in care of Brooks & White Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1135, Roxboro NC 27573.
George Monroe Solomon

George Monroe Solomon 82 of 1578 Willow Oak Drive died Monday, December 3, 2012 at Person Memorial Hospital. Born in Person County son of the late William & Hallie Clayton Solomon, in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Helen Solomon & his son Donald Gene Solomon. He attended Person County Schools and graduated from Southeastern Seminary at Wake Forest. Mr. Solomon retired from Collins & Aikman. He loved sports and a served in US Army during the Koren Conflict. Mr. Solomon was a member of Clement Baptist Church where he had held many positions.
Surviving are his wife Charlotte Dunlap Solomon of the home, two sons, Mike Solomon and wife Teresa and Ronnie Solomon and wife Dedra, one foster son Gordon Hart and wife Trudy, one step-daughter Amanda Briggs, a special daughter-in-law Pam Solomon, five grandchildren Tracy Solomon, Nick Solomon and wife Amanda, Sherri Solomon, Haley Solomon, Courtney Tilley, one great-grandson Parker Solomon.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday December 6, 2012 at Brooks & White Chapel Rev. Herbert Brown & Dr. Ben Gault will officiate. Interment will follow in Clement Baptist Church Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM Thursday December 6, 2012 and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be The Men of Clement Sunday School Class.
Emma Sue Blalock

Emma Sue Morris Blalock, 91, of 55 Lochridge Dr., Roxboro, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Born in Person County, Mrs. Blalock was the daughter of the late George Washington and Josephine Bertha Hicks Morris and wife of the late Charlie Bradsher Blalock, Jr. Mrs. Blalock retired from parachute manufacturing and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her brothers, George "Ed" Morris, Thomas "Gene" Morris, and Marvin Hartz Morris.
Mrs. Blalock is survived by her children, Charles Woody Blalock, Patricia Ann Blalock Timberlake and husband Billy, of Timberlake and Peggy Jo "P.J." Blalock Mooney and husband Chris, of Roxboro; four sisters, Bertha Morris Long, Mary "Doll" Morris Blanks, Flo "Popeye" Morris Chambers and Shirley Morris Wilkerson; seven grandchildren, Sherri Shaffer, Faron Blalock, Brandy Horton, Heath Horton, Amanda House, Parker Grove and Brad Mooney; eight great-grandchildren, Hunter Horton, Jacob Blalock, Dylan Shaffer, Delaney Shaffer, Cooper Grove, Carson Grove, Carleigh House and Cody House.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Martin Hall. Burial will follow in the Blalock Family Cemetery on C.C. Andrews Rd. Visitation will be held 6:30-8 PM, Saturday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be the Roxboro Fire Department Honor Guard.
Mildred Mae Blalock Aiken

Died: 01/05/2013 and resided in Rougemont, North Carolina
Mildred Blalock Aiken, age 88, of 1405 Chambers Road, died Saturday morning January 5, 2013 at her home. She was born in Person County, daughter of the late James Henry Blalock, Sr. & Julia Ann Rogers Blalock. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Jack Blalock & J. H. Blalock, Jr. Mrs. Aiken was a graduate of Hurdle Mills High School and of the Primitive Baptist Faith. She loved her weekly visits from her grandchildren & great-grandchildren, she enjoyed playing with them and going for walks outside, watching birds and caring for her animals.
Surviving are her husband of over sixty-six years Edison Aiken of the home, three children Gary Aiken & wife Pat of Raleigh, Ricky Aiken & wife Lori of Goldsboro, Sandra Peele & husband William of Rougemont, seven sisters Beatrice Lunsford of Roxboro, Mary Aiken of Durham, Ruby Aiken & husband William of Bahama, Nina Trevathan & husband Leroy of Wendell, Margaret Rimmer of Charlotte, Shelby Poindexter & husband Clyde of Roxboro, Esther Thompson of Raleigh, five grandchildren Stasha Castillo, Sonya Batchelor, Aaron Peele, Heather Aiken, Zackery Aiken and six great-grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Monday January 7, 2013 at Brooks & White Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday January 8, 2013 at the Brooks & White Chapel by Elder Bobby Daughtry. Interment will follow in the Aiken Blalock Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: David Aiken, Billy Aiken, Gerald Aiken, Kevin Gates, Tom Chambers, Ricky Tremmel & James Horton.

Randolph Latney "RANDY" Montague, Jr., 61 of Roxboro died Sunday, December 2, 2012. Born in Person County son of the late Randolph Latney Montague, Sr. & Rosa Whitt Montague of Milton, in addition to is father he was preceded in death by his wife Vickie Hicks Montague. Mr. Montague was retired from Collins & Aikman and worked at several stores before becoming disabled. He was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother are five children Bobby Joe Montague & wife Lisa of Semora, Ronnie Montague & wife Christina of Semora, Michael Montague & wife Ashley of Roxboro, Wayne Rudder of the home & Crystal Gail Montague of the home, five brothers Johnny Lee Montague of Roxboro, Jimmy Montague of Milton, Tommy Montague of Milton, Jerry Montague of Milton, Larry Montague of Semora, three sisters Carolyn Whitt of Milton, Wendy Newcomb of Saxe, Va., & JoAnn Palmer of Roxboro, nine grandchildren & one great-grandchild
Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday December 5, 2012 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Herbert Brown. Interment will follow in the Whitt-Pleasant Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Brooks & White Funeral Home and other times at the home of his mother Rosa Montague 1542 Barker Road, Milton, NC 27305.

Janice Ann Smith Williams, 60, of 300 Evelyn Day Rd., Roxboro, died Thursday, November 22, 2012. Born in Person County, Mrs. Williams was the daughter of the late Robert K, Smith and Margie Snow Smith, who survives. She was of the Baptist faith and preceded in death by her sister, Ann Pentecost.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Williams; one daughter, Christina Oliver and husband Paul, of Leasburg; two brothers, Robert Lee Smith and Ronald "Runt" Smith; three sisters, Lib Oakley, Nellie Wesley and Gail Reaves.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Saturday, November 24, 2012, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Brad Wesley. Burial will follow in Surl Primitive Baptist Church, Timberlake.Visitation will be held 12:30-1:30 PM, Saturday at Brooks & White Funeral Home prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Billy Bray, Don Clayton, Jessie Duncan, Steve Bray, John Kirk, and Billy Chandler.
