Gregory Lee Walker, age 47, of 220 Wiley Lunsford Rd., died Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Born in Suffolk County, NY, he was the son of the late Howard Walker, Jr. and Shirley Kenion who survives and husband of the late Sheryl Walker and the late April Walker. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Larry Walker. Mr. Walker had worked in Maintenance in the Industrial Industry. He was a member of Somerset Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his Mother are his two children, Kayla Walker and Gregory Walker, Jr. both of the home; his step-father, Clyde Kenion of Rougemont; one sister, Vickie Neumann of Timberlake; one brother, Kelvin Walker of Wilmington; two step-brothers, Eugene Kenion of Orlando, Florida and Frankie Kenion of Raleigh; three step-sisters, Teresa Lane, Nina Tate, and Lisa Kenion each of Raleigh.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Friday, July 27, 2012 at Somerset Baptist Church by the Rev. Troy Rust.
Visitation will be held from 2:45 to 3:45 PM prior to the service on Friday at Somerset Baptist Church and other times at the home of his mother at 250 Wiley Lunsford Rd.
John Thomas (J.T.) Whitt Jr.

John Thomas (J.T.) Whitt, Jr, 60, went home to be with the Lord July 25, 2012. He was born in Person County and was the son of the late John Thomas and Carolyn Gentry Whitt.
John graduated from Person Senior High School and attended Alamance Technical Institution with studies in Mechanical Drafting. He was a skilled carpenter and a talented artisan of wood. John enjoyed the adventures of kayaking and go-kart riding. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
John is survived by five sisters: Peggy Dickerson Whitfield (Milton), Jane Slaughter (Pete-deceased), Molly Briggs (L.H.-deceased), Johnsie Woody (Charles), Glynda Carver (Jackie). He had 11 nieces, 7 nephews and many great- nieces and great nephews. John enjoyed the benefits and blessings of a large family.
A memorial service will be held at Providence Baptist Church, Roxboro, N.C. on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 2pm. The Reverend Dennis McDonald and the Reverend Hal Dickerson (John's nephew) will conduct the service. Family will receive friend following the service.

Herford Connor Stewart 97 of 6671 Boston Road died Tuesday July 24, 2012. Born in Person County son of the late Esker Frazier Stewart & Early Tally Stewart, in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Marvin Stewart, Earl Stewart & William Stewart, he was a retired farmer and a US Army Veteran having served during W.W.II. Mr. Stewart was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are two daughters Irma Jean Jernigan & Jackie Guill both of Portsmouth, Va., one brother Ingle Stewart of Atlanta, Ga. four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several Nieces & nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday July 26, 2012 at Brooks & White Funeral Home one hour prior to the service and other times at the home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 Thursday July 26, 2012 at Brooks & White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Norman Talley. Interment will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Christy Whitfield, Wendy McFarland, Cal Berryhill, Joe Berryhill, Frankie Gentry, Cecil Pixley, George Woody.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Peggy Humphries, Barbara Hawn, Lois Ogle, Janice Harris.

Gary Dean Roberts, age 52, of 2008 Chichester Ct., died Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Born in Horry County, SC, he was the son of the late Kenneth John Roberts and Geraldine Harper Roberts who survives. Mr. Roberts was employed with Crowder Construction Company as a Crane Operator.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife of 15 years, Sharon Chambers Roberts of the home; nine children, Jackie Ross of Raleigh, Crystal Szumirez of Lynchburg, VA, Shane Raub of Creedmoor, Janelle Howell of Stem, Dale Raub of Raleigh, Gregory Raub, Sr. of Raleigh, Bryan Roberts of Lexington, SC, Kirstie Tharrington of Oxford, and Alicen Roberts of Raleigh; four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. John Pritchard.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 PM on Saturday prior to the service at Brooks and White Chapel.
Linda Sue Bowling

Linda Sue Bowling, 47, of 10448 Quail Roost Road died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at her home. She was daughter of the late Lester Day Bowling and Louvenia Chambers Bowling. She was predeceased by her brother, Nick Bowling.
She is survived by five siblings, Joyce Walters, Ann Bowling, Louise Ball, her twin Brenda Sue Bowling, and Pete Bowling all of Bahama; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 11AM Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Marilyn Shipman. Burial will be in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 24, 2012 at Brooks & White Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Bowling, Henry Walters, John McAdams, David Harris, Rob Height and Chris Wilkes.

Pencie Bell "Jane" Fuqua Carroll, 77, of 6846 Oxford Rd., Timberlake, died Sunday, July 22, 2012. Born in Caswell County, Mrs. Carroll was the daughter of the late John Arch and Mamie Barts Fuqua and wife of the late James Raymond Carroll. Mrs. Carroll retired from Dixie Yarn.
Mrs. Carroll is survived by her daughter, Monnie Welch and husband Barry, of Timberlake; three brothers, Ralph Fuqua and friend Debbie and Bobby Fuqua and friend Bonnie, both of Leasburg and Wayne Fuqua, of Mebane; two sisters, Doris Powell, of Sutherlin, VA and Margie Humphries, of Leasburg; two grandchildren, Tammy Lee Whitt-Parrott and husband Jason and Raymond Thomas Whitt, Jr., and fiance' Ashley; one great-grandchild, Tori Anne Parrott.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Jimmy Pulliam. Burial will follow in the Kerrs Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30-8 PM, Tuesday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home.
