Myree Daniel Guill age 89 of 290 Oak Grove Mount Zion Road died Tuesday morning at her home. She was born in Caswell County to the late Oscar and Laura Bradsher Daniel. She was wife of the late Leslie Franklin Guill Jr. Mrs. Guill was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church; the Concord UMC Navigators, and the Junior Order UAM Longhurst Council #570.
Surviving are her two daughters and sons-in-law; Janet G. Gentry and John M. (Pete), Faye G. Stevens and Buddy; four grandchildren, Todd Bullock (wife, Andrea), Candice Gentry Yarbrough (husband Brad), Danielle Stevens Dunn, Brandy W. Stevens; five great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, James Malcolm Guill of Walnut Cove; a special friend, Hilda Stewart; care givers, Jeanne Brooks and Mary Hunt.
A memorial service will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 13, 2012 at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Karl Neuschaefer.
The family will receive friends after the service and other times at the home of her daughter, Faye Stevens, 222 Oak Grove Mount Zion Road.

James Franklin "Jimmy" Robertson

James Franklin "Jimmy" Robertson, age 79, of 567 Robertson Rd. died Tuesday, January 10, 2012. Born in Person County, he was the son of the late George and Ella Dunn Robertson. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Melvin, William, and Duby, and five sisters, Evie, Mary, Mamie, Annie, and Ruby. Mr. Robertson had retired from C&A; with over 30 years of service. He was a member of Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Dorene Melton Robertson of the home; two sons, Mark Robertson and wife Linda of Holly Springs; Rickey Davis and wife Tricia of Roxboro; one daughter, Lisa Davis Hurdle and husband David of Bushy Fork; one sister, Estelle Gentry of Fl; seven grandchildren, Andy and Amanda Robertson, Nicholas Davis and wife Ashley, Will Davis, Matthew Davis, Joshua Hurdle, and Samantha Hurdle; a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Tommy Robertson and Rev. Gerald Thomas. Burial will follow at Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers will be nephews and employees of Home Health Professionals.
The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 PM Saturday, prior to the service at Brooks and White Chapel and other times at the home.

Dennis Ray Rowland

Dennis Ray Rowland age 75 of 1687 Allensville Road died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell. He was born in Person County to the late Buster and Rena Roach Rowland. Mr. Rowland was a member of the Crossroad Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Reynolds Rowland of the home, three children, Phillip Jason Rowland and wife Cindy L., Margaret Carver and husband Bruce, and David Wayne Rowland of Roxboro; four grandchildren, Cody Rowland, Skyler Rowland, Kelly Foster, and Ashley Carver, two great grandchildren, Kaydi Foster and Delayna Grimes; one sister, Bernice R. Watts all of Roxboro.
The family will receive friends Sunday January 15, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM one hour prior to the service and other times at the home.
The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday January 15, 2012 at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Herman Chambers, the Rev. Wayne Bowes & the Rev. Jason Holt. Interment will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery

Bessie Satterfield Phillips

Bessie Satterfield Phillips, 89, formerly of Washington, NC, and currently of 2680 S. Mebane St., Burlington, died Sunday, January 15, 2012. Born in Caswell County, Mrs. Phillips was the daughter of the late Eldridge and Ella Barts Satterfield and wife of the late Roger L. Phillips. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Howard, Herman, Raymond, Warren, Amos and Curtis Satterfield and her sister, Clara Rudd. Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and of the Baptist Faith. She was also a former volunteer with the American Red Cross.
A private service will be held at the Coastal Carolina Veteran Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by a host of nieces and nephews and her special friends in Washington, NC.

Hilda L. Markham Stox

Hilda L. Markham Stox, age 73, of 114 Patterson Dr. died Monday, January 16, 2012. Born in Durham County, she was the daughter of the late James and Carmen Reaves Markham. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Frances Bolton Hawk, two sisters, Kay Fisher and Nancy Hamacher, and two brothers, Rowland Markham and Larry Andrews. Mrs. Stox had retired from K-Mart after many years of service and later was employed at Community Pharmacy. She was a member of Triple Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Vanessa Bolton Hatcher and husband Larry of Roxboro, and Amanda Knott Rashwan and husband Jimmy of Egypt; two sons, Cecil Terry Bolton and wife Dianna of Roxboro, and Douglas Allen Bolton of Oklahoma; two sisters, Brenda Rasberry and husband Norman of Mebane, and Dorothy Jenkins of Rocky Mount; one brother, Charles Andrews of Efland; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Triple Springs Baptist Church by the Rev. Jim Smith and Rev. Buddy Hall. Burial will follow at Triple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill Crumpton, Timothy Rasberry, Ted Wilborne, Drew Anderson, Todd Andrews, Bob Morgan, Michael Bridges, and Reed Rasberry.

Richard Anderson "Dock" Allen

Richard Anderson "Dock" Allen, 79, of 661 Flat River Church Rd., Roxboro, died Monday, January 16, 2012. Born in Person County, Mr. Allen was the son of the late Nicholas Walter and Alma Berry Allen. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Nannie Ruth Hall. Mr. Allen was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He repaired lawn mowers and was associated with Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Mr. Allen loved his home, western movies, the color red, and a good chew of tobacco.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Lynda Wrenn Allen; one son, Robin Hudson; two step-sons, Donald Murray and Brian Murray; one brother, Nicholas "Nickie" Walter Allen, Jr.; two sisters, Rebecca Mooney and Mollie Breeze; five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11AM, Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. Donald Daniel. Burial will follow in the Allen Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 PM, Tuesday, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Leon Hall, David Wilkerson, Andy Allen, Travis Brooks, Carnell Mooney, Jr., and Mark Clayton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Smith Mooney, Donnie Blalock, Bud Hall and Henry Owens.
