Jefferson Allen Day, 39 of 9004 Oxford Road, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Born in Whitefish, Mt. son of Lorna Lee Fields Squires and the late Bruce Allen Day. Mr. Day was a Mechanic and of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife Stephanie Malpass Day of the home.
Memorials Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday December 10, 2011 at Brooks & White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. John Pritchard.
The family will receive friends Saturday December 10, 2011 one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 Am and other times at the home.

John Thomas Walters

John Thomas Walters, 67, of 9002 Roxboro Rd., Bahama, died Thursday, December 1, 2011. Born in Orange County, Mr. Walters was the son of the late Ira Henry and Alva Gentry Wilson Walters. Mr. Walters retired from the City of Durham and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Wayne Walters and his brother, Frank Walters.
Mr. Walters is survived by his wife, Joyce B. Walters; one son, Henry Earl Walters and wife Maryjane, of Rougemont; two sisters, Annie W. Ellis and husband Ray, of Bahama and Kelsey W. Long and husband Wayne, of Hurdle Mills; two grandchildren, Shelby Nicole Walters and Dustin Earl Walters; two step-grandchildren, Kyle Anna and Doug Anna.
Funeral Services, 1:30 PM, Sunday, December 4, 2011, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Norma Walters. Burial will follow in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-8:30 PM, Saturday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Buck Johnson, Daniel Austin, Brent Wood, Ricky Johnson, David Adcock, Barney Thompson, and Steve McFarland.
Elizabeth Mundy Tyson

Elizabeth Mundy Tyson, 85, of 206 School Street, Roxboro, died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at her residence. Born in Person County, Mrs. Tyson was the daughter of the late Henry Thomas and Mary Malessa Keesee Mundy and wife of the late Jerry Franklin Tyson. Mrs. Tyson retired after 26 years with Eaton Corp. and was of the Baptist faith. She was also a member and former president of the VFW Auxiliary. Mrs. Tyson is preceded in death by her son, Jerry Thomas Tyson and her grandson, Jerry Thomas Tyson, Jr.
Mrs. Tyson is survived by her son, Gary Tyson and wife Kay, of Roxboro; two daughters, Linda T. Davis and husband Earl, of Roxboro and Mary Frances Simmers and husband Steve, of Cumming, GA; her daughter-in-law, Rose Tyson; one brother, Henry C. Mundy, of Roxboro; two grandchildren, Lisa Shull and Ryan Tyson; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. J. Harold Palmer. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-8:30 PM, Monday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Rogers, Ronnie Epps, Ricky Robertson, Alan Clack, Ray Adams and Coleman McCullock.

Cecil Loyd Yarborough

Cecil Loyd Yarborough, Sr. 86 of 138 Obrien Drive Roxboro died Tuesday evening January 3, 2012 at Person Memorial Hospital. Born in Person County son of the late Olie Yarborough & Emma Gravitte Yarborough and husband of the late Virginia Rockholt Yarborough and he was preceded in death by one son Wayne Thomas Yarborough Mr. Yarborough was an Army Veteran having served in the Pacific during WW II, he received the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star and he was a member of Rock Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are three children Brady Holmes of Roxboro, Cecil Yarboro, Jr. of Roxboro and Sandra Faye King of Roxboro, eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.
The family will receive friends Thursday January 5, 2012 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday January 6, 2012 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jimmy Pulliam. Interment will follow in Rock Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Powell, Chad Vaughn, Wayne Yarborough, Steven Yarborough, Jeremy Pulliam & Edwin Pulliam.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Malcus Day, Rick Roberson, Henry Owen & Bobby Ottwell.
Anna Waters Barnette

Died: 01/03/2012 and resided in Roxboro,
Anna Lou Waters Barnett 92 formerly of 458 Semora Road died Tuesday January 3, 2012 at Person Memorial Hospital. Born in Sumner County TN., daughter of the late Charles & Charlene Cummings Waters and wife of the late Frank Page Barnett, Sr. Mrs. Barnett was also preceded in death by one granddaughter Jessica Paige Barnett and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are one son Frank Page Barnett, Jr. of Roxboro, one daughter LuAnn Barnett Maldanado, three grandsons Jeremy Barnett, Joshua Barnett, and Corey Barnett; and one great-grandchild also survives.
Graveside rites will be held 11:00 AM Thursday January 5, 2012 at Burchwood Cemetery by the Rev. Herbert Brown.

Dorothy Weaver Wilson

Dorothy Weaver Wilson, age 78, of 81 Gentry Ridge Rd. died Friday, December 30, 2011. Born in Person County, she was the daughter of the late Eva Oakley Weaver and Lonnie Johnson Weaver and wife of the late Gerald Wilson. Mrs. Wilson had worked at Tar Heel Chevrolet for many years and also the Person County Tax Office. She was a member of Triple Springs Baptist Church. Her many friends, family, and her church were cherished in her heart.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah W. Chambers of the home and Sandra W. Cozart of Roxboro; one brother, James Weaver and wife Jane of Roxboro; one sister, Shirlie Yarbrough of Roxboro; two grandchildren, Lisa Simpson and Carl Simpson; two great-grandsons; a host of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald Harris.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and other times at the home.
