Gary William Jaye, 57, of 20 Maple Court Dr., Semora, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at his residence. Born in Los Angeles County, CA, Mr. Jaye was the son of the late Le Roy Jaye and Margaret Rose Findell, of Culpeper, VA, who survives. Mr. Jaye was an EMT with Johnston Ambulance Service. He was an avid drummer who taught people how to play the drums. This led him to work with sound in post production of television shows and videos. He also loved to water ski.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Jaye is survived by his wife whom he met on the Love Boat, Hilary Smith Jaye; three brothers, Stephen Jaye, Jeffrey Jaye, and Peter Jaye, all of Virginia; one sister, Jennifer Lynch, of South Carolina; his brother-in-law, Colin Smith and wife Ann, of England; four nephews, Richard Smith, James Smith, Matthew Smith and Edward Smith; two great nephews, Thomas Smith and Viggo Smith; also three nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held 11AM, Thursday, October 27, 2011, at Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Gerald Thomas. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 6- 7:30 PM, Wednesday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Harris, Jameson Harris, Jonathan Williford, Colin Smith, Chuck Burch, and John Eason.

Gregory Monroe Keever III, was born October 16, 2011 and died October 17, 2011 at Duke University Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 2 PM, Thursday, at Antioch Baptist Church by the Dr. M. David Chambers.
Gregory is survived by his parents, Gregory Monroe Keever, II and April Michelle Lankford, both of Roxboro; his maternal grandparents, Ronald and Kathy Lankford, of Roxboro; his paternal grandparents, John and Sherry Reaves and Gregory Monroe Keever, Sr., and wife Teresa, all of Roxboro; his maternal great-grandparents, Carolyn Williamson, Jerry Martin, Nancy Morris, all of Roxboro; his paternal great-grandparents, Leroy Keever, Clara Fox and Clayborne Turner, all of Roxboro and Pat Keever of Charlotte.
Kathleen Moore Cox

Kathleen Moore Cox, 67, of 1881 Lucy Garrett Rd., Roxboro, died Sunday, October 16, 2011. Born in Person County, Mrs. Cox was the daughter of the late Reuben and Florence Elizabeth Briggs Moore and wife of the late Eddie Arnold Cox. She was also preceded in death by her brother, James Wilmer Moore. Mrs. Cox retired from the US Postal Service having worked at the Roxboro and Timberlake Office and was the former Postmaster at the Longhurst Office. She was a member of Brookland United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her children, Wendell Wayne Cox and wife Connie, of Roxboro, Alison Carlyle, of Raleigh, Christy Greer, of Sherman Oaks, CA and Keith Cox and wife Teresa, of Creedmoor; one brother, Russell Moore, of Richmond, VA; one sister, Emily Purnell, of Roxboro; ten grandchildren, Austyn Clayton, Dusty Clayton, Mandy Clements, Paige Cox, Ashley Kelsey, Brandon Cox, Whitney Kelsey, Hunter Cox, Chandler Greer and Cameron Greer; and one great-grandchild, Karleigh Clements.
Funeral services will be held 11AM, Wednesday, at Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Seong-Il Eom. Burial will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30 PM to 8 PM, Tuesday at Brooks & White Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Warrner, Hunter Cox, Brandon Cox, Dustin Clayton, Justin Wallace and Chris Clements.

Clarence Boyd Thompson

Clarence Boyd Thompson, age 83, of 1535 Red Oak Ct., died Thursday, October 13, 2011. Born in Caswell County he was the son of the late David James Thompson, Sr. and Mariah Jordan Thompson and husband of the late Hattie Mae Crabtree. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, James W. Thompson, Wallace W. Thompson, Thomas Thompson and Albert "Dick" Thompson, and two sisters, Ann Rudd Bowland and Lou Ellen Thompson. Mr. Thompson was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Thompson Walters of Hurdle Mills; one son Larry Wayne Thompson and wife Mary of Hillsborough; three brothers, David Thompson, Jr. of Mebane, Curtis Thompson of Burlington and Jerry Thompson of Yanceyville; five sisters, Doris Rudd of Prospect Hill, Louise Blalock of Mebane, Hazel Self of Burlington, Mary Ellen Ball of Mebane and Martha Jane Bowes of Burlington; four grandchildren, Jeff Walters, Teresa Terrell and husband Elijah, April Yates and husband Ricky and Jane Haynes; three great-grandchildren, Eli, Mariah and Emma Yates.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, October 16, 2011 at the Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. James Albert. Interment will follow at Cooper Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dana Bowes, Danny McCullough, David McCullough, Gary Pleasant, Harvey Rudd and Michael Rudder.
The family will receive friends from 1:45 to 2:45 PM prior to the service Sunday at Brooks & White and other times at the home of his daughter, at 225 Wolfe Rd., Hurdle Mills.

Elmer Addison Taylor, 64 of 8755 Virgilina Road, died Thursday evening, October 13, 2011. Mr. Taylor was born in Caswell County son of the late Lottie Clark Taylor & Fonzie Taylor. He was preceded in death by his brother Jimmie Taylor and was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are his wife Clara Long Taylor of the home, one son Warren Taylor & wife Drema of Roxboro, one daughter Lisa Taylor Anders, one brother Claudie Taylor of Roxboro, one sister Trixie T. Wrenn of Roxboro, four grandchildren Dustin Anders, Haley Welborn, Christian Anders & Madison Taylor.
The family will receive friends Sunday October 16, 2011 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Funeral Services will be held Monday October 17, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Randy Howard & Bill Ferguson. Interment will follow in Lebanon Christian Church.

Carol Welch Clayton, 77, of 2450 Oxford Rd., ROXBORO, died Tuesday, October 11, 2011. Born in Person County, Mrs. Clayton was the daughter of the late James Irving and Eunice Duncan Welch and wife of 57 years to the late Silas Milton Clayton. She was a beloved mother and grandmother and caretaker for her husband. She loved her job prior to retirement at South Elementary School. She was a seamstress and attended Brookland United Methodist Church and Surl Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Welch and her nephew, Corey Welch and her niece Kyleigh Welch.
Mrs. Clayton is survived by her children and their spouses, Milton Trent and Katherine Clayton and Lori C. and Frank Davis, all of Roxboro and Lila C. and Andy Solomon, of Hurdle Mills; two brothers and their spouses, Lanny Ray and April Welch and Barry Lynn and Monnie Welch, all of Timberlake; two sisters and their spouses, Eunida W. and Clyde Hicks and Betty W. and Fred Oakley, all of Oxford; five grandchildren, Casey Davis and wife Amy, Robbie Davis, Brandon Solomon, Nicholas Solomon and Liana Solomon; one great-grandchild, Ty Davis and her caregivers Martha Sloan & Gercha Oxendine.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Brooks & White Chapel. Burial will follow in the Clayton Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30 PM to 8 PM, Friday, at the Brooks & White Funeral Home.
