Robert Lester Chambers, 86 of 418 Ellen Street, died Sunday October 30, 2011 at Roxboro Nursing Center. Born in Person County son of the late Oscar Chambers and the late Addie Mae Oakley Chambers. Mr. Chambers was owner & operator of Chambers Laundry for over 20 years and retired from Tultex. He was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. He served in the US Navy during WWII.

Surviving are his wife, Mable Carver Chambers of the home, five children, Faye Hull of Charlotte, Rev. Berry Chambers of Roxboro, Rose Holder of Roxboro, Kathy Wrenn of Roxboro and Robbie Chambers of Roxboro, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 3 PM Wednesday at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church by the Rev. Herbert Brown. Burial will follow in Burchwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30-8 PM Tuesday at the Brooks & White Funeral home and at other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Joel Holder, Brian Holder, Jonathan Chambers, David Chambers, Chad Wrenn and Jason Wrenn.

In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to The Rose Holder Kidney Transplant Fund c/o Robbie Chambers, Roxboro Savings Bank P. O. Box 489 Roxboro, NC 27573

Sarah Lou Wrenn Mundy
Born: 10/04/1926 Person County, NC
Died: 10/30/2011 and resided in Durham,

Sarah Lou Wrenn Mundy age 85 of 205 Whitmore Lane died Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Duke Medical Center. She was born in Person county to the late Sidney Thomas and Minnie Pearl Wrenn. She was predeceased by five siblings, Vance, Elbert, Maxie, Inez and Mae. Mrs. Mundy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Durham where she was a very active steward, playing the piano for the assembly before Sunday School Classes each Sunday. She also had a leadership capacity in the Sr. Adult Sunday School class. She was a previous member of Long Memorial United Methodist Church in Roxboro. Her favorite past time was playing the piano and in her later years discount shopping for her family and friends. Survivors include her 2 children, Jamie Mundy and his wife, Connie of Semora, Kathryn Mundy of Wake Forest, two grandchildren, Ashley Bailey and her husband, Steve, and Kelly Mundy; 2 great grandchildren, Samuel James Bailey and Susan Claire Bailey; one sister, Frances Roberson of Wilson; several nieces and nephews; and her loving care givers, Caroline Jones and Chassidy Morgan.

The funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Long Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Person Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Long Memorial United Methodist Church and other times at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Connie Mundy, 124 Spinnaker Lane, Semora, NC 27343.

Beatrice Campbell Bowes
Born: 07/08/1934 Granville County, North Carolina
Died: 10/29/2011 and resided in Roxboro, North Carolina

Beatrice Campbell Bowes age 77 of 5144 Boston Road died Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Person Memorial Hospital. She was born in Granville County to the late George and Irene Elliott Campbell. Mrs. Bowes was predeceased by her husband, Obie F. Bowes and her daughter, Betty Ann Bowes. She was a member of the Friendship Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Melissa N. Bowes and her fiance Nathan Williams and her son, Rev. Wayne Bowes and wife Cheryl all of Roxboro; one brother, Leonard "Nub" Campbell of Boyton, VA; two sisters, Mary Vernell Todaro of Scottsburg, VA and Margaret Ann Lea of Roxboro; two grandchildren, Laura Ann Morris, husband Daniel, and Christopher Wayne Bowes; her step grandchild Shelia Diane Williams.

The funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Brooks & White Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Bowes and the Rev. Herman Chambers officiating. Burial will be in the Lea's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Arnold Lea, Robert Carey, Randy Pulliam, Donald Pulliam, Jimmy Phillips, and Daniel Morris Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Whitlow, Ronnie Long, and Chris Bowes

William Washington Kendrick

Died: 10/28/2011 and resided in Leasburg, North Carolina

Leasburg - William Washington Kendrick age 67 of Ridgeville Road, Leasburg died Friday, October 28, 2011. He was born in Halifax, Virginia to the late Samuel Washington Kendrick and Nannie Bell Lord Kendrick.

Surviving are his wife, Sallie Wade Kendrick of the home, three daughters, Sandra Kendrick Garcia of Graham, Mary Ella Kendrick of Cary, and Joanne Kendrick of Leasburg; one son, William Washington Kendrick, Jr. of Eden; one sister, Jean Kendrick Garcia of Mebane; 16 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Brooks & White Chapel with the Rev. Allen Bottoms officiating. Burial will be in the Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church in Leasburg.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Wade, Frank Wade, Billy Jones, Paul Gregory, Joey Kendrick, and Reigo Beltran.

Cleo Davis Younger
Born: 06/04/1910 Halifax County, Virginia
Died: 10/28/2011 and resided in Rougemont, North Carolina

Rougemont - Cleo Davis Younger passed away on Firday, October 28. Cleo was born June 4, 1910 to Ocie Monroe Davis and Dora Carr Davis at Green Hill, Halifax County, Virginia.

On June 10, 1933 she was married to Charlie Daniel Younger by whom she was predeceased. After attending James Madison University she taught in the Halifax County school system for 37 years retiring in 1974. She was a member of Catawba Baptist Church for 73 years where she taught Adult Sunday School Class, was director of WMU, a deacon and church treasurer. She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter, serving as Grand Matron. After moving to North Carolina in 1998 she was active in Rougemont United Methodist Church until her health failed. Her faith was evident in the way she lived, loved and supported her family and friends.

She is survived by her son Charles Daniel Younger and wife, Mary Jane; her sister, Kathleen D. Anderson and husband John; her sister-in-law, Doris J. Davis; three grandchildren, Brett, Christopher, and Marlaina Younger; two great grandchildren, Keri and Misty Younger; two neices, Kathleen A. Chappell and Lois Sandidge; seven nephews, LeGrange Anderson, William Y. Jennings, John Jennings, Reuben Glass, A. B. Younger, Billy Younger, and W. B. Owen. She was predeceased by her brother, Monroe Davis.

The funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Catawba Baptist Church with the Rev. Leroy Davis and the Rev. Cheryl Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Robert "Bobby" Worth Wilkerson
Born: 11/19/1965 Halifax County, Va.
Died: 10/25/2011 and resided in Oxford, NC

Robert "Bobby" Worth Wilkerson 45 of 9524 Amis Chapel Road, died Tuesday morning October 25, 2011 at Duke University Medical Center. Born in Halifax County, Va., son of the late Robert Marvin Wilkerson and the late Diane Jones Wilkerson.

Surviving are his wife Debbie Martin Wilkerson of the home, two sons Jeremy Wilkerson of the home and Travis Wilkerson of the home.

The family will receive friends 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday October 27, 2011 at Brooks & White Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday October 28, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Norman Talley. Interment will follow in Mayo Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Garrey Martin, Mark Lowery, Greg Satchell, Vernon Ashley, Jason Terry & Art Jones.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Roby Eppes, Erkrt Stewart, Jeff Hudson & Chip Dixon.
