Ellen Wray Stone, age 71, of 800 Frank Street, Roxboro, died Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Person Memorial Hospital. She was born in Caswell County and was the daughter of the late William L. "Bud" and Muriel Barker Wray. She was widow of the late Jack D. Stone, Sr. and was also preceded in death by one brother, Joseph "Jimmy " Wray. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving are two sons, Jack D. Stone, Jr. and wife Rhonda of Timberlake and Michael G. Stone and wife Stephanie of Reidsville; two sisters, Marie W. Wilson of Roxboro, and Virginia W. Cobb and husband Harold of Yanceyville; two brothers, Thomas Wray of Yanceyville, and Onix L. "Red" Wray and wife Ruth of Lancaster, CA; two grandchildren, Martha and Anna Stone both of Timberlake.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at the Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Jack Snyder and Dr. M. David Chambers. Burial will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Wilson, Roger Cobb, Wesley Cobb, Jeremy Cobb, Kendall Cobb, Joel Daniel, and Seth Daniel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ida Willis, Ada Brown, and Matt Cobb.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son Jack D. Stone, Jr., 2966 Dink Ashley Road, Timberlake.
Thomas Satterfield "Tom" Warren

Thomas (Tom) Satterfield Warren, 88, died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Person Memorial Hospital. Born in Person County, Mr. Warren was the son of the late Albert and Mabel Spencer Warren. Mr. Warren served in the US Air Force from July 1946 - July 1949 and was a member of the AmVets. He retired from plumbing, heating and air and was a member of Roxboro Baptist Church. Mr. Warren was also a member of the Roxboro Elks Lodge.
Mr. Warren is survived by his wife, Esther Clayton Warren; two children and their spouses, Joan Warren and Don Kolakowski, of Richmond, VA and Tommy and Susan Gray Warren, of Timberlake; two grandchildren, Ken Kolakowski, of Ft. Wayne, IN and Jeff Kolakowski, of Richmond, VA.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Roxboro Baptist Church by the Dr. DuPre Sanders. Burial will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30-8:30 PM Friday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Waite Warren, Terry Warren, Mark Warren, Gary Garrett, Ken Kolakowski and Jeff Kolakowski. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of "Fishers of Men" Sunday School Class at Roxboro Baptist Church.

Harvey Vann Bryant

Mr. Harvey Vann Bryant, age 72, of 556 Cattle Dr., died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at his home. Born in Nash County, NC he was the son of the late Obie Bryant and Deana Sanders Bryant. Mr. Bryant had worked in the construction industry for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Denise Bryant of Raleigh, and Shane Mckee and husband Wayne of Moncure; one son, Kenny Brodwell and wife Tammy of Durham; two sisters, Elsie B. Brown of Durham, and Linda Smith of Creedmoor; one brother, Don Bryant of Durham; eight grandchildren, Eric, Lily, Ken, Josh, Will, Ashley, Christina, and Jessica; three great-grandchildren, Kaden, Bailey, and Landon.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Roxboro Church of God, 1415 N. Main Street, Roxboro.

Billie Howard Tuggle Blackard, age 75, of 15443 NC Hwy 119N., died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 in the Danville Regional Medical Center. She was born in Pittsylvania County, VA, and was the daughter of the late Howard Tuggle and Annie Moore Tuggle. She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas H. Blackard, Jr., and two sisters, Dollie T. Gilley and Bobbie Jean Morris.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas Blackard, of the home; one daughter Paula Blackard Long and husband, Robert of Alton, VA; one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Cook Blackard of Semora; one brother, John Thomas Tuggle and wife Barbara, of Danville, VA; two sisters, Mattie T. Thompson and husband, Jake of Lynchburg, VA; Joanna T. Conner and husband, Whitt of Yanceyville; two grandchildren, Joseph T. Blackard and wife Ashley, George V. Blackard and wife GiGi, two great-great grandchildren, Landon B. Blackard and Harley Long.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Red House Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Semora. Officiating will be the Rev. Kathryn Summers.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Jesse Lee Perry, 78, of 4845 Oxford Rd., Roxboro, died Monday, November 8, 2010 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. Born in Granville County, Mr. Perry was the son of the late Herman and Sophia Ellis Perry. Mr. Perry retired from Athol and was a member of Geneva Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Perry is survived by his wife, Betty May Riggs Perry; one niece, Karen Edwards; three nephews, Reggie Moore, Malcolm Moore and Roger Moore; two great nieces and twe great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held 3 PM Wednesday at the Brooks & White Chapel by the Rev. Barry Chambers. Burial will follow in Meadowview Memorial Park in Oxford. Visitation will be held 6:30-8 PM Tuesday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Carlene Harris, 2491 Antioch Church Rd.
Pallbearers will be Mike Poole, Steve Poole, Ricky Tingen, Sheldon Clayton, Mike Leezer, Mertis Blalock and Michael Blalock.

Patricia Wilson King, age 76, of 110 Fork Junction Rd. died Sunday, November 7, 2010 at the Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. Born in Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Edward Wilson and Nina Holt Wilson. Mrs. King had retired from IBM with over 15 years of service. She was a member of the Bahama congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include her husband Claiborne L. King of the home; one daughter, Sherry Whelan and husband Dennis of Raleigh; one step-son, Tracy King and wife Martha of Durham; one brother Lawrence E. Wilson, Jr. and wife Mary Jane of Winter Haven, FL; one sister, Gail W. Wheeler and husband Louis of Timberlake; five grandchildren, Scott Whelan, Ryan Whelan, David King, James King, and Andrew King; one great-grandchild Austin Whelan.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, November 21, 2010, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 114 Bowen Road, Rougemont, NC with the Elder Viken Terterian officiating.
