James Colon "J.C." Voncannon, 56, of 4553 Parker Mill Road, Denton, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, at his home.
Funeral service was 2 p.m. Friday at High Pine Wesleyan Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Wyatt Hoogkamp and the Rev. Tom Hill officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, employed with Chandler Concrete (formerly Certified Concrete) where he was shop foreman for 30 years, was a member of the Church Board, the Building Committee and teacher of the Young Adult Sunday School Class at his church.
Surviving are wife, Dianne K. Voncannon; daughters, Teena V. Kennedy, Anita V. Presnell, both of Asheboro; mother, Jellycee H. Voncannon of Asheboro; sisters, Bertha Mae Clark of Front Royal, Va., Mozelle Wright, Emma Jewel Moffitt, both of Asheboro; three granddaughters.

She was a native of Forsyth County and a member of the Church of God of Asheboro.
