She was a native of Mt. Gilead, a registered nurse and a graduate of Mt. Gilead High School.
Surviving are mother, Alice C. Deaton of Mt. Gilead; sister, Myrtle Yarbrough of Mt. Gilead.
The family will be at the home of David Yarbrough, 4188 N.C. 109 South, Mt. Gilead, 6:30-8 p.m. Friday.

He was a native of Alamance County and retired from Bossong Hosiery.

Clara Beane Preddy, 88, of 1208 Park Drive, Asheboro, died Thursday, March 18, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Central United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. William Christopher Thore, the Rev. Byron Alexander and the Rev. Joseph Casteele officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Randolph County, retired from Bossong Hosiery Mill, and a member of the Christian Homemakers Sunday School Class at her church.
Surviving are husband, Walter Preddy of Asheboro; son, Bobby Preddy of Carthage; brother, Owen Beane of Hagerstown, Md.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Moore County, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a farmer, a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, the VFW and the American Legion and the widower of Katie Templeton Blake.
Surviving are son, Billy F. Blake of Indiantown, Fla.; daughter, Barbara B. Tector of Greenwood, S.C.; sister, Emma Frye of High Point; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
