Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, with the Rev. Peter McGuire officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She was a native of Davidson County, the widow of Walter Surratt, a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
Surviving is sister, Bertie Whitted of Denton.

RAMSEUR - Murrel Watson Neece, 64, of 151 King Road, Apt. 2-B, died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at his home.
Graveside service was 2:30 p.m. Friday at Harmony Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tom Hill and the Rev. Kenneth McNeill officiating.
He was a native of Mingo County, W.Va., had been employed as a sheet metal mechanic, was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughter, Stacy N. Weida of Ashley, Pa.; brothers, Raymond Neece of Elon College, Harry Junior Neece of Franklinville.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
She was a native of Montgomery County and retired from Liberty Chair in Liberty.
Surviving are son, Bill C. Staley of Liberty; brothers, Tommy Freeman of Troy, J.D. Freeman and Hubert Freeman both of Liberty; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

LEXINGTON - Violet Mae Beck Hedrick, 79, of Holly Grove Community, died Thursday, April 1, 1999, at Lexington Health Care.

She was a native of Davidson County, the widow of Lawrence Edward Hedrick and a homemaker.
