BURLINGTON - Mary Leonard Brown, 82, of 3816 Wesley Court, died Tuesday, April 13, 1999, at Twin Lakes Center.
Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Friday at St. Mark's Reformed Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Robert M. Disher Jr., Dr. Melvin Palmer, Dr. Tom Hamilton, the Rev. Van Grimes and the Rev. Billy Joe Leonard officiating.
She was a native of Greencastle, Pa., the widow of Dr. Lawrence A. Leonard, a graduate of Catawba College and attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was a school librarian for 20 years in the Burlington City Schools and taught in the Lincoln County, Rowan County and Asheboro City School Systems. She was a volunteer for Alamance Memorial Hospital, a member of ADK, a past president of the Alamance/Burlington Retired School Personnel, a member of the Senior Advisors Board of the Senior Center of Burlington, and a member of the Eastern Star-Elizabeth Chapter #41.
Surviving are husband, William L. Brown of the home; daughters, Virginia L. Ackley of Marietta, Ga., Rebecca L. Curtis of Bent Mountain, Va.; son, Daniel L. Leonard of Carrboro; stepsons, Chris Brown of Greencastle, Pa., Richard Brown of State College, Pa., three grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren.
The family will be at the church immediately following the memorial service, other times at the home.

Joseph R. Misenheimer
Joseph Ray Misenheimer, 94, of 271 Oak View Lane, Asheboro, formerly of East Green Drive, High Point, died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Sechrest Funeral Home, High Point, with the Rev. John Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
He was a native of Rowan County, the widower of Roxana Jones Misenheimer, retired from Burlington Industries after 45 years, was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and later of Covenant Church United Methodist.
Surviving are daughter, Sylvia Simmons of Asheboro, sons, Joe Misenheimer of High Point, Rayford Misenheimer of Faith; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-8:30 p.m. Friday.

Rosa Stutts Chriscoe, 74, of 112 Wright St., Seagrove, died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Lee Green and the Rev. Hayes Ritter officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Harlon Reed Chriscoe and retired from Luck's Inc.
Surviving are sons, Carson Chriscoe of Robbins, Leonard Chriscoe of Seagrove; daughters, Ruth Marshall of Seagrove, Geraldine Morgan of Robbins; sisters, Frances Chriscoe of Seagrove, Adell Carlton of Thomasville; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Marvin Dale Swart, 64, of 2247 N. Citrus Blvd., Leesburg, Fla., formerly of Asheboro, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at Leesburg, Fla.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Flag Springs United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Luther Crady Jr. and the Rev. Bryan Fox officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Seneca, Kan., the widower of Jeanette B. Swart, a U.S. Air Force veteran, a graduate of Kansas State University with a B.S. Degree in Agricultural Science and was employed by Novartis.
Surviving are daughter, Janelle Furr of Concord; son, Douglas Swart of Denton; brothers, Carl D. Swart of Seneca, Kan., William Swart of Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; B.J. Dupler of the home; four grandchildren.

SEAGROVE - Arlie Elton Brown, 68, of 1863 Ralph Lawrence Road, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at Duke Medical Center, Durham.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at New Center Christian Church, Seagrove, where he was a member, with the Rev. Jimmy Shirlen and the Rev. Donnie McNeill officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County and a Sunday School teacher and deacon at his church. He was retired from Thomas Built Buses, was a bus driver for Seagrove Schools, a member of the Bus Drivers Association of Randolph County and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict.
Surviving are wife, Jacquelyn Cooper Brown of the home; daughters, Bonnie LaDare Keeling of Seagrove, Lannette B. Allred of Robbins; son, Vernon E. Brown of Seagrove; half-sister, Myrtle Williamson of Seagrove; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

She was a native of Randolph County and a retired textile worker.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Clarence Charles Rush, a former employee of Triangle Hosiery Mill and Silver Knit Hosiery and a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School class at her church.

He was a native of Union, N. J., and was employed at the Waste Water Treatment Plant, Union, S.C.

BURLINGTON - Mickey Brown, 62, of 157 Coveside Terrace, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Elon College, where he was a member, with the Rev. Norman Harris officiating.
He was a native of Randolph County, a graduate of East Carolina University and of N.C. A&T State University with an M.S. degree. He was a teacher and defensive line coach at Reynolds High School, Winston-Salem and Fayetteville High School, Fayetteville; defensive line coach at Elon College and Duke University, coached at Williams High School, where he was 1983 "Mid State Coach of the Year" as the school's golf coach. He was head football coach at Western Alamance High School where he was named 1987 "Mid State Coach of the Year," returned to Elon College as assistant coach and was a member of Disciples Sunday School Class at his church.
Surviving are wife, Janie Brown of the home; daughter, Melinda Gammon of Knoxville, Tenn.; son, Michael Brown of High Point; mother, Ethel Roberts Brown of Asheboro; sister, Donna Brown of Asheboro; brothers, Gilbert Brown, Carl Brown, both of Asheboro, Lynn Brown of Dobson.

Dr. Harold D. Cranford
Dr. Harold Davis Cranford, 76, of 420 Maegeo Drive, Lexington, died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at his home.
Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Jill Alventosa-Brown officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke Medical School and served his residency at UNC-CH and McPherson Clinic in Durham. He practiced ophthalmology in Lexington for 35 years, served on the Lexington School Board and Airport Commission, was a former member of both the Asheboro and Lexington Rotary Clubs and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lexington.
Surviving are wife, Gloria Anderson Cranford; son, Harold Vernon Cranford of the home.
The family will be at the funeral home 3 p.m. Sunday.

Surviving are daughter, Wilma Bame of Sophia; sons, John Bame of Sophia, Theodore William "Ted" Bame of Randleman; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
