He was a native of Moore County and a retired employee of United Airlines after 42 years of service in Washington, D.C., Hawaii, New Jersey and Florida.
Surviving are wife, Aileen Shuford Stutts of the home; stepson, Larry Coppala of Louisville, Ky.; sister, Christine S. Quale of Seagrove; brother, J. Paul Stutts of Linwood; two stepgrandchildren.

LENOIR - Gladys Bell German of Lenoir, died Monday, April 19, 1999, in Greenville.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Tabernacle Advent Christian Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Frank Hall and Dr. Danny Penny officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
She was a native of Wilson County, the widow of Finley L. German and retired from Southern Bell Telephone Co.
Surviving are stepson, John German of Granite Falls; stepdaughter, Anita Denius of Sneeds Ferry; brother, J.H. Bell of Asheboro; sisters, Ruth Jones of Greenville, Lela Peacock of Kenly; four stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was the widow of A. Fields Caviness.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired from Basic Metal in Siler City and a U.S. Navy veteran.
