The family will be at the residence of Kenneth and Donna Flinchum, 5257 Bedrock Road, Julian, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

EAGLE SPRINGS - Mamie Horner Rouse, 93, of 7431 N.C. 705, died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Rock Hill Friends Church, with the Rev. John Powell and the Rev. Mike Holyfield officiating. Burial will follow in Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.
She was a native of Moore County, a homemaker and the widow of Dewey H. Rouse.
Surviving are daughters, Johnsie R. Williams and Crissie R. York, both of Eagle Springs, and Hester R. Garner of Winston-Salem; sons, James "Ben" Rouse of York, Pa., Carl "Paul" Rouse of Eagle Springs and Cecil Rouse of the home; sisters, Bonnie H. Williams and Dola H. Rexrode, both of Eagle Springs; brother, Carl Horner of Eagle Springs; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

LIBERTY - Donald W. "Pops" Smith, 86, of 217 Carolina St., died Friday, April 23, 1999, at his home.

He was a native of Chicago, Ill., a veteran of the Navy and the Army Airborne and retired from construction.
Surviving are wife, Sharon Smith of the home; sons, Jeffrey M. Stachowicz of Hawaii and Brian Stachowicz of Wilmington.

James Thomas Burrows, 83, of 349 Chestnut St., Asheboro, died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at Alamance Regional Medical Center Skilled Nursing.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. David Hutton and the Rev. Thurman Williams officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County and a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church.

He was a native of Waynesville, employed for several years with Covington Diesel and then with Moody's Exxon, and was a Little League coach.

Armfield Sr., retired from North State Telephone Co. as a switch room supervisor and was a member of the Independent Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church in Ramseur, a former member of Christ United Methodist Church in High Point, a life member of the United Methodist Women at Vickrey United Methodist Church, where she was also a former member, and at Christ United Methodist Church.
Surviving are son, Robert L. "Bob" Armfield Jr. of the home; three grandchildren.
