He was a native of Davidson County, the widower of Darlene Bumgarner Westmoreland, a U.S. Air Force veteran and was retired from H & H Furniture Manufacturing.
Surviving is sister, Dorothea W. Meyers of Orlando, Fla.

Norman Hayworth Wright, 85, of 4905 N.C. 42 South, Asheboro, died Friday, April 30, 1999, at Clapp's Nursing Home, Asheboro.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Union Grove United Church of Christ Cemetery, with the Rev. Dan Brown officiating.
He was a native of Randolph County, a retired carpenter and attended Union Grove United Church of Christ.
Surviving are sons, Harold Wright of Asheboro, Brack Wright of Ramseur; sisters, Mary Coble and Edith Brookbank, both of Asheboro; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.

He was a native of Guilford County, a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a retired poultry farmer.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Smithwood United Church of Christ, where she was a member, with Dr. Kenneth R. Register and Dr. Robert Delp officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Guilford County, the widow of Millard Fogleman, a member of the Ladies Sunshine Class at her church and a secretary of the Smithwood Memorial Cemetery Association. She was a former employee of Liberty Hosiery Mill of Gibsonville and a retired employee of Liberty Chair Company.
Surviving is brother, H. Byard Humble of Liberty.

He was a native of Guilford County, retired from the Greensboro Fire Department with the rank of Captain after 38 years, was a former Sunday school teacher, formerly was involved with the Boy Scouts of America, worked for Kinard Pharmacy, Greensboro, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are wife, Faye W. Sutton of the home; daughters, Terri Skiver of Liberty, Kimberlyn Bullis of Graham; son, Ralph Thomas "Ty" Sutton Jr. of Burlington; sister, Merle Coble of Greensboro; brother, Jack Sutton of Seagrove; four grandchildren.

RANDLEMAN - Mescal Swaim Ferguson, 81, died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at her home.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. David Hamlyn, Dr. Donald Maddox and Kevin Almond officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Howard Ferguson and a homemaker. She was active with the Randolph Community College Foundation, Randolph Hospital Foundation Board, the Randolph County and Randleman Public Libraries, and Randolph County and North Randolph Historical Societies. She was building fund treasurer at her church for 30 years and taught the Star Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was a member of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Chancellor's Club and received the Campbell University Presidential Medallion and an honorary associate degree from RCC, both this year.
